What's new

England V India | 2nd Test Trent Bridge| [27/7/07]

But Prior takes Ganguly's catch, he is out now. He and Tendy failed to reach their centuries.

India 409-5 .

Anyways, great innings of 79. Looked back to his best.

409/5

Seems that they're trying to make up for all the plumb LBWs Howell has turned down. Hopefully his 8th Test is his last.

Dhoni in now, hope his stumps go for a walk or something - he is one of the players I really don't like. :D

Dhoni's India's Panesar, popular with the crowd (so it appeared at Lords).

Yes, that was a crap decision by Taufel yet again. Thats two batsman deprived of 100's by Taufel.

And Ganguly is really, really upset. Feel sorry for him.

YES! Dhoni gone caught behind off the bowling of Sidebottom! :D

Sidebottom has been working for that all day - looks relieved, he was almost crapping himself before this and cursing his poor luck. If only Laxman and Dhoni got out instead of Ganguly.. it would be much more entertaining to watch.

Dravid should declare now. 200+ runs lead is more than sufficient.

But the weather forecast appears better for the batsmen, so I'd bat on till tomorrow around noon, if I were India (which I'm not!).

There are probably 35-40 overs left today. India should leave 10-15 overs for England batsmen today

players are back on the field

I don't know if David Lloyd is joking but he is saying that ESPN and Harsha Bhogle might be having a separate program on the Tendulkar decision asking the noteables thre including David Lloyd opinion on the LBW :D
and Atherton asked an 'ugly' quiz.. he asked to name only team who after conceding a first innings lead of more than 300 still went on to win the match..

after lunch they have just been too slow. They have been in a good position for a long time and very little pressure

I think Laxman is fighting for a spot againt Yuvraj or team just wants to stay on the field as long as they can
50 partnership up off 110 balls - Laxman 20 off 55 Kumble 26 off 56
India 464-6 of 153 overs - lead off 266 runs
24 overs left today

Damn, I just realised it's 3rd day not 4th. Not sure what made me think it's 4th day play going on.

I doubt India will get very far past 400 if they even get there. The batting lineup is okay, but overrated really, and our bowling attack will perform worse and take three times as many wickets another day. We're still in the game

Zaheer Khan and Pietersen exchanging words. Umpires get involved.
I am liking it :)

Vaughan was off the field and immediately KP took the chance :))

I think Atherton just said a few words by fielders about Sreesanth and his glasses and reference to Harry Potter.
It will be fun next innings as the bowlers will be more pumped up because of the team position and the words

teams are coming to the field. England cannot lose a wicket today but I think they will lose atleast one but probably 2. Probably 16 overs left

Its always interesting to see what the batting team is thinking about when they go out to bat in this kind of a situation. England cannot afford at all to lose a wicket 2day (but Strauss will probs go). India were saved by the rain in the first test, England supporters will be hoping for the rain to to THEM a favour this time!!

Only way out for England is to pull off a Headingly '81 / Kolkata '01 / Mohali '05.

Sreesanth was all over the place in the first over - laughable stuff. Nasser Hussain was really laying into him..

'His arms and mind are all over the place - get back to the basics..' :))

"He remarks his run-up and kicks around the sawdust as if it's its fault." :))) :))) :))) :)))

Cricinfo's view on Sreesanths pathetic bowling

I repeat again - if India dont win from this position - they should be sent home - no point disgracing themselves further !

last over of the day by Sreesanth takes 8 minutes. end of day
Eng 43-0 - trail by 240

C'mon England openers, another 240 runs to the opening partnership plz. :D

Well u never know...

43/0 stumps Day 3. Another good day for India with 196 overs left i just can't see England saving this match.

At least we didn't lose a wicket before the close of play. If we are going to go down then i want us to go down fighting. We haven't batted well as a team all through this series, so it's time to get it right.

England needs to survive for 140+ overs then either they can get a draw or a tight chase.

welcome back hash...good to see u back after 3 days of indian dominance!

on another note, propz to sidebottom..what a spell to sachin

Great day for India once again, the world's best umpire looking out of form at the moment. India's got the game in the bag, let's not ruin it boys.

Bloody hell, Cook gone lbw to Zaheer to an indipper. 49/1. Cook out 4 times lbw this series.

Well, we got the early wicket already. Zaheer is bowling very well, replace Sreesanth and bring on RP Singh.

Zaheer Khan bowling unplayable deliveries here. The play and miss option seems a good one.

97/1

Come on boys, we need a wicket or two right here!

Been following this on cricinfo, seems like good hard fought test cricket. Shame I cant watch it.

good batting by England...we need to dig deeper for a few wickets. Let's go guys!

129/1 of 43 overs, launch on Day 4. Good session for England but they can only afford to lose another 2 wickets to day.

Okay boys, England had a good batting session but we are still in command. We just need a couple of wickets and the pressure will be back on them. We still lead by 154 runs and that is a big lead.

Strauss gone after the break. Zaheers gets the "vicket" says Nasser lol

Pietersen has the worst record at Trent Bridge, with an average of only around 26 I think and highest score of only 45 (give or take), so this would be the best time to create a new high score!!

A real uphill struggle for England. These two batsmen are the main two batsmen who are capable of scoring a big hundred (a 'daddy' in Gooch's words).

lol, naw we got use to Easa's bandwagon jumping tatics this year. His favourite teams were MAn U, AC & Inter Milan and Real Madrid. Though beware, if England are on top next game.....the world "we" will probaly have a different meaning. )))
