What's new

England v India | 3rd Test | The Oval | [9/8/07]

A Vaughan failure would be the first real nail in the coffin for England in this match. A Pietersen failure would be another one.

Kumble to Cook, out Caught by RP Singh!! Kumble pushes it further up down the leg side, that is the leg spinner, Cook reaches for it and looks to work it on the leg side, gets a leading edge and the ball pops straight up in the air, RP Singh at mid off comes round it and takes a smart catch, this is a real soft dismissal, that is the end of Cook's stay at the crease, Kumble strikes, isn't he delighted!!! Cook c RP Singh b Kumble 61(97) [4s-11]
31.2 Kumble to Cook, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

Kumble to Vaughan, out Caught and Bowled!! Kumble tosses it up outside the off stump, that's the wrong un, spins back into the right hander sharply, Vaughan reaches for it and looks to go for the drive, mistimes it straight back to the bowler, that was a dolly take for Kumble, the England captain departs now, with that, it is Lunch as well, the Indians would love their lunch here at the Oval!!! Vaughan c and b Kumble 11(37) [4s-2]
33.3 Kumble to Vaughan, THATS OUT!! Caught&Bowled!!

Hope Vaughan will bat again today itself :D

Colligwood repreived by Hovel. It was as plumb as it can get. Looks like India needs to get England out twice in every innings from now on. Hovel is hell bent on not letting England lose.

Cook was plumb not given.
Anderson was plumb not given.
Collingwood plumb not give.

Compare this to two top order India batsmen in very good form given out wrongly.

When two good test sides are playing cricket and you give 2-3 top order batsman wrong outs and 2-3 top order batsman wrong not outs all in favour of one team in first innings then match is pretty much gone. Credit to India that they still scored 650+ runs and having England tottering at 137/4.

India well deserved to win this series

Pietersen has been in all sorts of trouble in this innings.. its been very poor to watch..

Tendulkar comes on and strikes with his first ball. KP gone! :)))

Gone for a sedate 41, England 202/5..

looks Gloomy for England. It should have been 7 or 8 down.

England 202/5..

It's going well I see, if they win the India team should give each member of the English team a present

A whole packet of jelly beans each, so they can throw them to their hearts content...

Zaheer strikes, let's see if India can get them all out before the close of play.

Bell out ct behing off Zaheer
Eng 303-7 - trail by 361
need 161 more to avoid follow on.

I think it will be end of day if England is all out today. There are only 13-14 min left
Eng 313-9 - trail by 351

how much average do england look. been impressed with india though been clinical in every department

wow. This is such a typical Indian reaction. A few months removed from the most humiliating WC exit ever and someone's proclaiming them amongst the best professional teams ever.

******NEVERMIND*****

Cheer up, Monty is 0* off 17. This shows he's going to dig in and save the innings.

345 all out. Monty is lbw to Kumble. The fun is over for this morning.

Jaffer gone lbw to anderson after shouldering arms. He left a ball on middle stump but it was going over by miles. Shocking decision by Howell.

India 10/1

Once again - dismissal by leaving the ball! Umpires should be banned for that.

2 down! Fantastic bowling by Tremlett in the corridor and Karthik gets the edge straight to Collingwood at 2nd slip

India 10/2!

BOWLED! Tendulkar bowled 2 stumps!!!!! Middle and leg flying outta the ground. What a ball by Anderson!

11/3 India

10.2 Anderson to Ganguly, FOUR!!, touch short of good length delivery on the middle and leg, drifting into the pads, Ganguly closes the face of the bat and flicks it to deep mid wicket, once it went onto the practice pitches it was always going to be a boundary

Once again Sachin fails when it really matters. Fitting that his last test match innings in England will be a big fat duck!

and again...

10.3 Anderson to Ganguly, FOUR!!, fuller length delivery outside the off stump, width on offer and Ganguly latches onto it in a flash, leans into the shot and drives it between extra cover and long off for four, vintage Ganguly on display there!!!

All india need to do is score around 200....which i am sure that they can do...or 250. Then they have around 550 for england to chase...in one day...

Nowadays fans dont expect anything from tendulkar in crucial times.....

guys come on....god doesn't create people with 100% perfection...we are humans...sachin cant have everytool in the box

12.3 Anderson to Ganguly, FOUR!!, good length delivery outside the off stump, angling away from the left hander, Ganguly opens the face of the bat and steers it down to third man for four, piereces the gap, beats the two gullies in place

All through out the series, its Ganguly thats looked most comfortable ... Unfortunate that he had to be on the wrong side of umpires' decisions ... Otherwise, he would clearly have been among the top 3 run getters of the series ... It would be upto him to anchor the second innings and get India to 150 + in less than 40-45 overs ...

What was the point of India not enforcing the follow on exactly?

Who needs the great wall of China, when the true great wonder of the world is the WALL CALLED DRAVID :26:

In other words, if india can bat and score 300, england would need 600+ to win in less than a day.

Its so disappointing to see Gangu with ONLY 5000 runs in around a 100 tests at 41

Dravid is not out 5 from 72 balls.

Trying to beat Razzaq it seems (Razzu got 4 off 77 in australia, didn't he?)

:36: Dravid almost thought about taking a single.
Ind 76-3 - leads by 395
The betfair blimp has come down. bad weather coming

57 now...
what is up with dravid? he had a full toss and he still failed to put it away...

He wud have thought

1. There is not enuf runs to force follow-on
2. 5 sessions and 5th day pitch can bowl Eng out

ian howell is ****...
that was the widest ball ever from collingwood and still no signal

OUT! Collingwood induces an edge from Ganguly and he's caught at slip.
