Beefy will moan at anything when England are not on top.

What's he saying? I have it on mute.
he said oh Root finally had to play at one . When Rahat has had him playing and missing quite a few deliveries. And had a catch dropped off him. If it was Jimmy and broad bowling like this Botham would be praising them.

Pakistan can ensure they don't lose if they keep it tight, real value in that with England pushing for a decent lead

Let them take the risk then.

Cricket is a game of chess, if they want to win then they have to take the risks.

At the moment Pakistan are bowling perfectly, I have no probs with this strategy at all.

Even in chess, if an opponent is all bent on making you attack but doesn't have much firepower behind, then you could keep playing the boring defensive game setting up the pieces for the final flourish and go all out attack at the final moment and break his back.

Just like a game of chess is played by 2 players who can out-think and out-maneuver each other....cricket is also like that.

England if it goes to session 3 with a lot of wickets will do a world of damage.

So extreme run saving strategy has its pros and cons. Its fine to go for it but after a while, maybe need to rethink it if its not working.

5 maidens in a row for rahat.. great stuff... consistent line and length on the same channel....marvellous

Rahat has been possessed by the spirit of Glenn McGrath.

I hate the fact that Hafeez after all this consider himself a good player and think he deserves to be in the team when he cost us matches single handedly.

Lot of players owe their career to him. He's dropped so many in slips. De kock, he dropped early in UAE in an ODI which could hv been his last his ODI and he went on to score a century in that game and rest as they say has been history. De kock in the very next series scored 3 centuries against India, I think 3 in 3 odis.

Think lunch is coming at the right time for us. Feel like Root and Vince have weathered the storm.

Pakistans session.

2 wickets and they only scored 63.

But they need to replicate it in the next one.

If Root was out, it would have had a huge impact on the psychology of the sides.

Hafeez should be kicked, but he'll probably score a 30 second innings to save his place.

Let's hope we take wickets in clusters in the afternoon session as the game hasn't progress much from Eng's prespective

Lol, ur right last test match he scored a useless 42 also to make sure he wasn't dropped.

Guys first session was great for us and we have made it difficult for Cook to declare if we get into that situation

Ok there was.

Criminal stuff really.

England ahead in this game.

But Pakistan have done very well this session.

Root was in form before he toured Aus, wasn't he? But then Johnson happened. Aussies exploited his weakness against short bowling.

It is easier to play at your home because you are used to the conditions. When you tour, you encounter new conditions and you fail to adapt like Kohli in England and Root in Australia, Rahane has done better in every country he has played and that too in his first year in test cricket and that's why I rate him higher.

Any batsman would have failed had they encountered Johnson in that form and at that pace.

Rahane is inferior to Root.

Misbah is one of the best slip fielders, since became the captain he constantly stay at midoff... Misbah must have read the wrong books of cricket... Cook is at the slips, Clarke does, Graeme does, Ponting does, Fleming does.. why not u misbah? been the question i had no answer for 6 years now.

Yeah, and I can't see Pakistan losing from here as England will no way have enough runs to declare today.

You just cant afford to Give likes of Root such easy chances. Root an easily score a Hundred here

I dont think it can end in a draw, with PAkistan batting in 4th innings draw seems least probable

But Rahane and Kohli didn't. And as for the last line that's your bias

Rahane needs more runs. While he has been the most versatile batsman in the world, he hasn't made big runs and dominated a series like Root or Kohli.

I hope and have funny feeling that in next session we will get on top and Eng would be wondering why they did not play more attacking cricket in the first session.

Hafeez has contributed nothing on this tour, that drop was absolutely unforgivable.

Pakistan must continue to bowl dry .
Not just to stifle the scoring but it is actually a good wicket taking option when not much is happening .
Should have done this more this series .

Root is way ahead of any other young bat as of now.

Criminal to omit Williamson from this Test XI. Averages 71 in the last three years. Only second to :don Voges in that aspect (however, Voges has only played 17 Tests).

The team picked by Sky experts was supposed to be consisted of players who could perform in any condition, so Rahane deserved a spot ahead of Root and Kohli.

True but Root is best batsman on the planet ATM. If you ask me I would take Williamson ahead of Devilliers

Not ahead really. The match is headed towards a draw unless England start scoring at 5 RPO.

I think Pakistan has a slight advantage, England has to fight now to get one of the two results of their liking.

England effectively 80/2, Pak need at least 3 more wickets next session
Game on the knife edge when it should have been us dominating

Root has averaged 59.01 in the same time period (last three years), and even in the past year Williamson has been a level above (average: 73.76 to Root's 57.65). Nowadays, nobody seems capable of matching Williamson's consistent brilliance in Test cricket.

Thank you Hafeez for dropping Root. What would we do without you

Pakistan bowlers are not making English batsmen play. Bowling a little too wide.
