When an average nobody like Moeen Ali can score this many runs, there is no excuse for any of our batsmen to not perform well on this wicket. The notions of 'seaming track' or 'green wicket' cannot be further from the truth. Moeen batted with so much conviction, the pitch never really troubled him. And he is incredibly average.
The bowling has been bad, but the batting has failed spectacularly considering the conditions. We have failed to put England under the pump by posting mediocre scores and all these 'superstars' need to stand up COLLECTIVELY and be counted. As I said, no excuse whatsoever on a decent Oval pitch.
