They didn't pick anyone who wasn't from Yorkshire! The legendary TV interviewer Michael Parkinson like many Yorkshiremen living outside the county drove his wife back from London to Leeds just to give birth, just in case. Because otherwise a son would have been ineligible to play for Yorkshire.
My mum's from Yorkshire, but she took no such precautions - I was born in Lancashire.
Even Michael Vaughan was quite a shocking recruit for them, because he was born in Lancashire.
This nonsense was surprisingly common in British sport. In Glasgow, Celtic used to refuse to employ Protestant players and Rangers used to refuse to pick Catholics. And at the recent Euros, the Republic of Ireland football team contained several Northern Irish players who didn't want to play for their own country because they identify as Catholics first, Northern Irish last!
no cheap tickets like big bash? last season big bash had a 80,000+ crowd in a normal match wasn't even a KO match

Tickets for kids are £5 at most grounds I think, £20 probably about standard for an adult. Most clubs will do very affordable membership for kids generally at most about £35 for entry to every county game in all formats across the season.
Over here we obviously don't have an 80,000 capacity ground but the 2 London derbies will sell out the oval and lords with 25,000, not sure if the roses games do but they will surely get close if not.
Yes, but that really doesn't count.
Firstly, Big Bash makes no money from gate receipts because they virtually give the tickets away.
Secondly as I've written before, Big Bash occupies a very specific social niche in Australia. Everyone is either on summer holidays or working massively less intense days. And so Dad takes the kids to the Big Bash so that Mum can go out with her girlfriends and get drunk and disorderly. Everyone's a winner by the end of the night.
Plus, don't forget, that most of the Big Bash cities have virtually nothing to do of a summer evening apart from cricket, grog, or both.
but the things is at least they are some how managing to fill the stadiums and that will help to keep the youngsters interested in the game although Australia is a county with many sports so the excuse shouldn't be used for home of cricket (England) that more kids are going away from cricket because of other sports.
Very true, but that's a different story.
In England, cricket is no longer shown on Free-To-Air TV, so most kids never watch it. Ever. It's a mystery to them like Polo or Tennis or Golf.
In Australia all home international cricket is on Free-To-Air TV and so is the Big Bash. Cricket Australia get much less money for the TV rights, but know that EVERY male and almost every female watches it.
I got an SMS from a middle-aged female nurse who is a friend of mine an hour ago about an absurd catch that Shaun Marsh tried to claim in the Colombo Test.
But because the TV coverage in England is hidden away, there is no such interest there. Over 90% of males aged 15-30 apparently watch neither Test, ODI or even T20 cricket in England now.
Wake up lads bit quiet here

A big deal and England will crumble on its own weight.
100 run lead and Eng can manage before the pitch crumbles (if it does).
My stream not working now. lol.

England hasn't looked like a team which takes any pressure at least in this series.
Knowing how powerful England's batting is, pak will need a lead of 200 minimum to put them under pressure imo just look how they wiped out the deficit in the last Test and we had a lead of 100 ! 200 will be really though and unlikely
Should take some turn - Zafar Ansari and Gareth Batty have taken a decent haul of wickets at The Oval recently for Surrey.
