terrified of a attack which is medium fast atbest! as for anderson and philander theres no comparison really phillander has a record which puts andersons to shame

Junaid khan and Boult both are same kind of Left arm pacer,s

different between both of them is

Junaid has 8kph more speed compare to Boult :akhtar

and Junaid is good bowler even in Asian condition,s

However both has bright future ahead of them both are 23 :wasim

Yeah, I like Junaid he's definitely another gem but some pakistani posters on here think gems are only found in pakistan..
 
Southee bowled well yesterday but he hasn't actually made any batsmen to play a shot, batsmen looked comfortable handling southee, leaving his balls. Wagner looked better than Southee yesterday
 
I think Bracewell should have been picked ahead of Southee, that guy is a beast :akhtar coming from a rugby background and his heroics against the Aussies in Australia. Six wicket haul, deserved the man of the match but was handed to David Warner, that was surprising

Junaid has proved himself in both Odi and Test
where Boult yet to prove himself in Odi

He's only played a handful of ODIs and even if he doesn't come good in ODI's, I wouldn't mind as long as he becomes a great test bowler.
 
I hope England lose an early wicket on day 2 and prior gets in, we might see a few shots being played in anger then...
 
The guys complaining about England are just bitter that they don't possess a team as talented as ours. If it was Pakistan put in yesterday against that attack in swinging conditions, they'd have been shot out for under a hundred, same with India.

Anyway, looking forward to watching our lads bowl later, I doubt NZ will even match our score as it stands now, let alone surpass it when we eventually get bowled out.

Junaid is a far better bowler than Boult, Boult bowled well yesterday but he bowled a few deliveries done the leg side or too wide which the batsmen had no trouble in leaving. Junaid makes the batsmen play, Boult will grow eventually and hope he generates more pace. Boult can be more lethal if he can add another 5mph

Root will score a ton today, it's written in the stars.

Has to be said, he's the best, most exciting young talent in the game.
 
If this series is anything to go by, the Ashes will be a lot closer than what some people think.

If Cook and KP goes early, it will be competitive. But then again the Australian batting line up is inexperienced, only Clarke will stand against the English bowlers way. Watson will make fifties here and there but Warner and the rest can't expect much against Jimmy, Finn and Broad.
 
Looks like England are playing for the draw already and are just looking to bat for 5 days here.

Lords is packed again I see, England fans are the best in the world by far, we turn out to support our team whatever the format! We're saving test cricket.

Conditions for batting are pretty good, yes there are overhead conditions which are helpful but there are england batsmen who are playing fearfully probably because they are trying to regain form for the ashes series and fear failure means they will be dropped.

Even bairstow he likes to play his shot is playing as if hes fearing for his place, this wicket is par for course in terms of Lords wickets in recent times

The balls still moving around, you can't just play shots willy nilly (Compton). Yes, England are playing cautiously but you'd rather be cautious and make 250-300 than be out for 150-200.

I aint asking for the ball to be smashed around like some ODI/T20 match but atleast england could look for singles and try and not allow the bowlers to settle.

Comptons shot was stupid and reckless and was due to fact he got bogged down by just block, block, block.

A positive shot here or there is better then just blocking all time because if england keep losing wickets regularly then they will be in the same deep hole due to fact scoreboard hasnt advanced.

Also this isnt a 250 all out wicket by the looks off it, anyone would think england were playing against ambrose, mcgrath, laker and wasim akram the way they have poked and prodded all inns.

Have you seen whose batting? These aren't seasoned vets, they're youngsters still finding their feet at international level.

Like I say, it was this Pakistan playing, they'd have been bowled out on the first day for under a hundred runs. They can only score on dead pitches in the subcontinent, a tiny bit of swing and they get utterly pwned, just like they did last time they came over here.

Mamoon Ghaffar & Amjid Javed just can't see the irony. They complain about Root/Jonny batting slowly against a decent attack in tough conditions, yet their best batsmen (Misbah & Azhar Ali) score at a snails pace in the subcontinent, on pitches so dead even Dale Steyn couldn't get anything from them. :))) :)))

But we still won a test. We didn't get whitewashed like you in UAE.

We beat NZ on their turf the last time we toured them and it was just a two series match.

You couldn't get the job done in a 3 match series and let alone beating them, you were darn lucky to escape with a draw. :))

Also Look at how bairstow batted v S.A last year? A better side and better bowlers and he was more positive.

Yes england batsmen are batting fearfully and thats not helping there cause.

Have you ever seen the two bat before?.. All three really aren't in the best of touch they were trying to set a platform for the inexperienced middle order.

The only reason Pakistan won that series, was Ajmal chucking his way to a bucket load of wickets. 1 man team.

In the last 10 odd games, Cook averages 60, Trott averages 47 and Bell averages 40.

Trott can score a pretty decent rate as can cook. Anyone would think england were batting on day 5 trying to save this test match at the moment...

Why are you constantly defending the Poms? you are having a match with them. Show some fire and aggression.

Because of this softness, teams have steam rolled you throughout history and you have always been mediocre.
 
Prior gone, Brilliant bowling by Southee.
After taking every Delivery away from the Right Handers, the two in swingers get him 2 wickets on successive deliveries.
Tim Southee should look to bowl the in swinger more often.

Overrated Prior can't buy a run when the bowlers are fresh and charged up.

He is useless until and unless the bowlers go to sleep and are out of breath and he then he can smash a quick fire hundred and boost his average.

No wonder he has been a total failure for England in the top order in ODIs.
 
We'll get NZ all out for under 150 no problem, their brittle batting won't last long here.
