One good thing is these two are going after the ball, which is right approach - another 50-60, Poms would be in desperate situation. They are not likely to improve much from 1st innings.
Iirc it's halal as long as it's not Al-Razzaq or Ar-Razzaq.Their names rhyme too.
Faheem Afridi
Shadab Razaq (I don't know if this name is halal).

I think they will struggle to reach 300 so a lead of about 120 would be a winner for Pakistan.
Can anybody tell me how badly is Babar Azam injured ?
Will he bat again in this innings and in 2nd Innings ?

Difficult to say. There’s been no update since. Looked quite painful, though.

Good to see Pakistan team restoring its respect in Test arena.

Same query
Hopefully. Get well soon BabarHe is being monitored by team physio. Didn't go for x-rays, so maybe not that bad.

It's probably tradition - I saw Lady Di at Lord's. PCB accepted to send a team of 15 names I can recall after 17 years, to give Poms practice before Ashes, now they are doing it for the serious event of 5 Test Series against the team losing 7 of last 9 Test there - so, obviously, restoring respect isn't PCB's agenda.
I think, team was always respected, particularly in ENG.

She loves Test cricket.
And if you were in her shoes? If you just got MCC membership, you'd take the afternoon off, and run off to Lord's if your team was playing whoever. And not have to work.

Depends on how Babar is - remember, this ENG attack is led by combined age of almost 72 years and 250 Tests, it won't have that bite with 25 overs old ball and 100+ overs work load. Had Sarfraz survived the temptation, it was possible to reach 450 (without Babar hurting). Next time Root brings the kid to bowl spin, he'll have some reality checking.
According to cricinfo, she loves Test cricket.

Considering what’s been going on with ‘work’ for the last couple of years, this a friendly crowd to be a part of.
No chants of ‘Oh Jeremy Corbyn!!’
Are you impressed with shadab and Fahim approach??
20 odd overs to go, but maybe they're better of trying to survive if Babar could play tomorrow.
Fahim drives through cover better than many of UAE model, but his defense is poor - plays too much in air to be a genuine No. 6.
Both'll get out quickly.
Once someone asked Viv (?), if his Test SR was 60 instead of 75, could his average reached 60? Viv, said, that means I'll have to play (survive) 3000+ balls to score whatever I had - no thanks.
Young, players should be encouraged to play their natural game - if they are asked to slow down and gets out, they'll never get the confidence back.
It would be great if these hang around long enough so we can give Babar the night to recover from his blow.
Batting conditions tomorrow are expected to be good especially with dry weather forecast - get another hour of batting tomorrow morning and we're in full control.

Latest news that Babar will not be going for an X-Ray. Good signs.
Great chance to get a lead of 200
I’m not too far from Lord’s, clouds clearing and suns out
So you thought UAE model Asad Shafiq did not play well?
That's the biggest myth in PAK cricket. Asad would have been twice the player had he played all these Tests out side UAE. For a record, you can check - PAK players get the chance to play an away (out side Asia) Test once in a blue moon, thanks to PCB, that too 2/3 Tests max; still he has at least 3 top class innings at Gabba, Cape Town, UK. I always say Asad is the best driver of modern game, easily best from PAK since MoYo - he should enjoy most on true, pacy wicket. next time, when he bats again, hope Athers & Nasser are commenting (Not Rambo FGS) - they'll explain his batting. He gets close to the ball (on top of it, even on bounce) & waits for the ball to time it sweetly, which doesn't happen in UAE.
Somewhere, you should find me expecting Asad & Babar to score most in this Series, and that too before the IRL Test. UAE is the worst place for PAK cricket - just that Misbah's team got teams under prepared, often in a 2/3 Test series, he got the result before tourists settling down; that too heavily assisted by Toss wins. Had those series been 5 Tests series, you would have seen - for a record, PAK has lost 4/5 Tests to non Asian sides in UAE, in the later part of UAE Tour. Give tourists 3/4 FC games before 1st Test, Misbah's PAK would have struggled even against WIN in UAE.
You're always there with good anecdotes. Thanks for the post.
Wow! That has already happened. Nasser said exactly that.
He also said that Asad shows the Eng bats how to bat in English conditions.
Not yetDamn did we really hit 300?![]()
Another day full of flukes for Pakistan)
Not yet![]()
People wanted to drop Faheem for Rahat Ali!! People said Shadab wasn’t fit for England!
Give credit to Micheal (Mickey) Arthur!
Pak will win this in the most dominating style.
England team looks good on paper. But they are all out of form as a team. Looks like they are mentally shot.
Kudos to Pak for decimating the opponent in their own den.
