What's new

Fourth Test between England (669) and India (358 & 425/4) ended in a draw with the hosts leading the five-match series 2-1

There is a difference between 4-1 trashing and losing 4-1. Some of the earlier tests could have went either way and were decided by one session. This one is a bit more one sided. It's been good cricket.
There isn't. Ultimately 4-1 is a thrashing. Test series should be competitive not become one sided thrashings like this.

India don't have what it takes to compete in long away series anymore.

So it's better to play 3 Test series away.

Oh my Indians getting a beating and half.

Unfit bowler, unfit batsman, this is slaughter...

Expecting a matching saving 100 from the magician Gill and draw the match 🤡

4 tests is good

5 is too many

3 is too little

The scoreline is the same but that's why we watch the matches and not just the total series scoreline.

The 2011 series was abject surrender. This time India has fought well but still caved to pressure in key moments.

3 is perfectly fine. We used to play 3 Test series for the most part until 2011 tour when we started playing 4 and 5 consistently.
4 is appropriate I would say

And still Aus not England have beaten full strength india

Only teams in transition under dud coach gambo

Gambir with the short man syndrome needs to be sacked asap
Morkel is the worst bowling coach I have ever seen

And tulla gill should never be captain ever

India to score 600 now I believe

What did these players do against nz??
Where are these 3 today
Just making excuses.
naach na janay aangan taidaaa🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
Shami sarfraz and jurel don’t play all games
Cause Gambo is a moron.

If shami supported bumrah on those pitches Aus would have been toast.

Both Gill and Gambhir need to explain why Kuldeep didn't play. You can't have Sundar playing when Jaddu's in the side as well

It is the worst time for India to be batting, out on the field getting bashed around, still just enough time to get some overs in before Lunch and you have to bat for 10-15 mins while they were looking forward to their sandwiches ? :kohli

I went for my own Lunch thinking they’d take theirs when the England innings ended, I missed out on the Brummie doing some serious damage :akhtar

This is the result when you make an IPL flat track bully

Another IPL ftb Sudarshan who averages 35 in first class cricket is #3.

Flopswal another ftb is opening the innings.

3-1 loading for someone who can't score even a single on seaming wickets.

Fewer Test matches per series for India going forward, hopefully.

We give way too much importance to Test cricket in this day and age.
Australia and England are into this... They know their timeline matches Indian Prime-Time (especially England), so they want to market the sentiments of Indians (Test Cricket - Pure Format), hence the proposal. So they have searched a new Test Market outside Ashes! BCCI has in turn asked England and Australia also to play 5 test matches at home (If BCCI was weaker as like pre-IPL this wouldn't have happened).

Players are now prioritizing T20/League cricket, hard to find batsmen with solid defense (even a hardcore technician - for this age - a guy like Rahul is spoiled. Otherwise he would have been far more consistent... rare to find a batsman performing outside his home!) Hard to find even specialists, today lots of bits & piece players prevail... Even England/Australia struggle when they come to India... NZ caught India offguard and they planned well (but not sure if they can repeat that again). NZ & SA don't have the market/interest to accomodate 5 test series...

Indian pacers are not used to bowl multiple spells at home... They usually bowl 2 or 3 maximum spells in an innings. Spinners bowl a lot... Also not easy to find pace bowling alrounders... If we find one, they will have one or more issues (the best one Pandya doesn't possess fitness for Tests!) Thats why India should stick to 3 seamers + 1 proper spinner (believe in a spinner who can bowl in all conditions, all situations, yes even if he goes for runs, trust him to pick wickets - even Bumrah/Siraj the main bowlers go for runs here! So what's the big deal in it? Wicket-taking is the criteria! So we should have 4 wicket taking bowlers - specialist bowlers! They should be ready to bowl any time! Stop the crap of having a spinner who just gives rest to seamers in SENA... Jadeja can do that job as 5th bowler if needed, he should concentrate on his batting...)

And have 7 proper batsmen (including 6th additional specialist batsman). This is the way to play test cricket outside home (Even England can't do this when they come outside England... Thats why SA, NZ & Aus are the better test teams, that's why they have won WTC). Also 5 tests is a over-kill... Stick to 3 tests, if they want they can have play more series (repeat the cycle - home & away, play every year if possible! That way people can enjoy test cricket even better).

Look at this cult, reduced to demeaning Test cricket by claiming its a dead format - just cos they are losing.

You cult members do not decide which format is dead.

Your premier bowler is an embarrassment and should be investigated for his Javelin action and no-balls.

Your IPL trained batsmen cannot deal with a moving ball.

You cult members are so pathetic that BCCI bartered a historic Test series win just to participate in the IPL on time in 2021. Typical peindoos couldn’t delay the IPL start instead.

India's last two instances of conceding 600+ runs in an innings:

2014: India conceded 600+ runs against New Zealand (Brendon McCullum - captain)
2025: India conceded 600+ runs against England (Brendon McCullum - coach)
