Jaiswal scored 150+ in his debut match in Australia while fraud stadpadler Temu Sachin didn't even scored a century after playing 27 innings :kp​

KL Rahul should learn from Stoke, brave heart came out to see out the day unlike Rahul who let a tailender take the remaining 5 balls in the last test and got out giving England edge on the final day

Nothing will happen. Root will still score in Ashes although the other batters will struggle.

Assuming his form stays in tact that is. I still expect Australia to win though.

Then Pakistan will help root. Then Pakistan will become their Papa's. That'll be the new low for them.

I am not a fan of this level of thuggery in cricket and it mainly comes from Indians in recent times. Play like gentleman. I don't want this to turn into football where fan experience is not as enjoyable.
 
186 runs lead for England , tomorrow they will try to bat out as much as possible and get as much runs as possible. Stokes will be looking to reach his hundred.

The 200 runs lead will put Indian batting under pressure. Poms will have attacking fielders .

From India point of view , they will have to bat really well to save this game.

Apart from South Africa, I don't think there is any other country that can win a Test series in Australia currently.

He would have equaled it, but he converted those 50's into centuries so he is back to 66 tied with chanderpaul.

Root has increased his conversion rate to 0.57 as well. Aag.

Still below Tenda's conversion rate of 0.75

And Steve Smith Conversion rate of 0.85

Lol and Bradman's conversion rate of 2.22 aint no one beating that.

England lead by 186 runs

Joe Root's masterful 150 took him up to second on the all-time Test run-scorers' list and gave England complete control over India after day three of the fourth Test at Old Trafford.

By reaching 31, Root overtook India great Rahul Dravid and legendary South Africa all-rounder Jacques Kallis, and in continuing beyond 120, he went past former Australia captain Ricky Ponting.

His century was his 38th in Tests and it ground down a poor and beleaguered India as England reached 544-7 at the close, leading by 186.

After escaping a run-out chance on 22, Root's latest triumph was chanceless.

He put on 144 with Ollie Pope and after Pope fell for 71 and Harry Brook for three - both to Washington Sundar in quick succession - Root shared a stand of 142 with Ben Stokes.

Their partnership was broken when Stokes retired hurt on 66 with cramp in the evening session and Root was struggling with a similar issue when he was finally stumped off Ravindra Jadeja shortly after.

Having both spent time off the field with injury, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj dismissed Jamie Smith and Chris Woakes respectively after which Stokes returned.

He ended the day 77 not out alongside Liam Dawson who is unbeaten on 21.

The hosts now have two days to complete the victory that would give them an unassailable 3-1 series lead.

supposed home track bully averages 47 away with 15 tons, 49 average in Asia, which is a very minor disparity against his career average.

A century in Australia is the final piece in the puzzle and essentially completes his career.

If he has a good tour in Aus and averages over 45 it’s time to commemorate root as one of the goats.

Not quite Steve smith level but very close. Possible Sachin level. Could surpass in the next few years though

Problem with Indian team

Gambir is not a test bowling coach and morkel is rubbish

Need bharat Arun back for tests

And get a different test coach

But chumchas will only get someone who will be a sycophant and just toe the line.

As soon as some success goes in to their head like champions trophy and t20 World Cup they will refuse to take tests seriously.

This all started because of a a dhoni. He is responsible for this culture. Won the WC in 2011 and champions trophy but I will never forgive the pos for losing 10 tests and getting drubbed 4 0 twice in Aus and England.

Tbf we did play really well in the first 3 tests and probably deserved to be up 2-1 so we have played well barring this test so I can somewhat digest the performance this far.

Hopefully we get akashdeep and Arshdeep back in final test and make a push
Maybe a Kuldeep and sarfraz too.

Except for light rain/showers till noon , weather seems mostly good today & tomorrow . Still would like to see ENG slog today & declare or get out in an hour or so . Don't see IND scoring over 250-270 in any case !

I meant innings win.

India are already out of the game. But, England can give a bigger psychological blow if they can win by an innings. For that, they need a lead of close to 300 probably.

Claims such as Stokes is finished, Root only scores soft runs, england doest curate spicy tracks cause they are afraid of Bumrah, India ended Bazzball, Archer will get mauled etc etc.

Lack of Specialist Middle Order batsman (No.6)... It was Hanuma Vihari who saved that test. He might not have played many matches for India, but clarified why you need specialists... Even Karun Nair did his job in the 2nd test, blunting the new ball for a fair bit... I know they are not good enough, so keep searching for improvements rather than going behind bits & piece players... If Kuldeep is not good enough spinner, find someone else...

If India doesn't have the guts to play with specialists, then just avoid long series... Play 2 or 3 tests, you can surprise the opposition with your bits & piece players and win an odd test, bowlers will be fresh and they can be effective...

England will face the same fate when they visit India... They don't have specialist seasoned spinners, nor they have fast bowlers of the quality of Anderson anymore! Their seamer alrounders Woakes, Carse will be useless in India and they cannot bat like they do at home...! England can boast with this team at home, but they will struggle away... NZ had the resources (quality spinners and specialist batsmen to tackle Indian Spinners) hence they won (were helped by worn-out Indian team though!)

No practice in ranji or domestic games

We need a new criteria. Any indian player who doesnt perform has an injury campaign.

India missed Akash in this test. He was a surprisingly good bowler in this series.

In this test they have trundler Kamboj, insipid Bumrah, hot and cold Siraj and fake all rounders. They have performed exactly how we would such a bowling attack to perform.

They are a nervous side at the moment, scared of their batting ending quickly so have stacked the side with these all rounders to elongate the batting while usually end in disaster in test cricket, and in this instance, surely replacing two of the fake all rounders with a genuine bat and a genuine bowler will be better for the side

I was never sold on Aakash Deep, I kept saying during the whole Oz tour that he was a bad player. I am convinced that performance in the 2nd test was a fluke, I thought maybe I got it wrong but he was totally off in the 3rd test match.

I am not saying bowlers lost India the match in the 3rd test, Shubhan Gill's marvellous innings of 7 during the chase sealed the deal...
