What's new

ICC CT 2017, Group A | England [240/4] beat Australia [277/9] by 40 runs [DLS method]

Bangladesh deserve to go semi ahead of Australia. Australia is just too weak. England will win this match easily

They are not weak as such, they were robbed of two matches which they would had most probably won.

Congrats Bangladesh on becoming the first Asian team to qualify for the semis, who would've thought that :misbah

so bangladesh gonna play semis . hard luck australia they lost the points with bng .. so looks like one of SA/India will be in finals

Don't write off the Aussies just yet. They are a good bunch and will try and fight till the very end and what if they pick up a few in the powerplay. You never know.

275+ is a fighting total, lol how did australia reach here, I last saw them at 240-250 for 9, bad bowling from England

If Aussies can defend this, they'll go to win the Trophy.

Think this should be enough,Aus can win it,just hold on to the catches.

Looks like BD batting in the tournament was good. They only got crushed by Aus because they aren't used to playing them as much.

Whose bright idea was it to play a player like Musa at number 4.

What the hell were England doing in the last few overs? They don't want to win this match.

Alright the match is back on, still an easy target but no longer a walk in the park, hold your horses bangladesh :srini

Good innings from Travis Head but with the batting firepower England have they'll be favourites. However Australia do have an attack capable of defending this total.

Not necessarily. Sinners have been causing major damage and as the wickets will only get drier, spinners will play a bigger role. Also, reverse swing will also come into play when wickets are drier. Any of the teams in Semis can win.

Big Mac will keep peddling the myth that Moeen is a better bowler than Rashid. :))

I cant see your post Markhor

Bangladesh won the last two ODI series against both SA and India last time

#justsaying :shamib

Relatively speaking Rashid is marginally better, Moeen has been learning to bowl spin on the go at the international level so despite that has not done so bad and is highly valuable to the England team with one of the best economies for a spinner on the planet in LOI's. Rashid is a spin veteran, it took him over a decade to finally come into his own :mv but it is only after all that time he has bowled a spell worth praising in a game that actually matters... oh WAIT Big Mac

Eng would rather wanna lose and play RSA or IND. Pak and SL to me are more dangerous at THIS point because they will be peaking at the right time. Pak bowling has more variety now after the Departure of Wahab. A team has to feel wary playing either SL or Pak at this time.

40 Dot balls by Mark Wood, wow what a bowler :akhtar

Woods created all the pressure, took all the important wickets and then fans started doing a bhangra over Rashid who took out tailenders with full tosses :yk Markhor Big Mac

Nah, England would crush Srl or Pak easily.

Good luck Ashraful_Rox I have made dua your boys get to the semi's, England will not let you down

Rashid won't even get to Afghanistan Side, Rashid Khan is so much better. Adil Rashid is the worst ODI bowler who purely gets wicket because batsmen don't like his face and wants to hit em, look at his cheap wickets today, Henriques (he should be a singer), Wade (You ain't Gilly brah, you're a Mongia), Starc and Cummins (Nothing to be proud of)

Would be lovely if England are 10/3, then they have a biggish partnership, Australia a few quick wickets after and England are reduced to 150/6, needing 120 odd at run a ball. Would make for interesting viewing.

That was such a selfish review unless he knew he had edged it it was so plumb no idea why he reviewed if he knew it didn't hit his bat..

Jason Roy got out and they started playing ' Have a bad day' :yk omg must be such an emotional moment for Roy

Totally agree brother, only Yorkshire fan ladies and attached Bradfordstani's rate him tbh

You can never rule Australia out when they have such a quality pace attack.

Although, it's not a pressure game for England but would love to see how Root takes his team from here with two down.
Will help his credentials as one of the best bat in the world across all format.

Hales is a big wicket. He has been the man scoring the bulk of the runs for the Angraiz.
