Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bat first against Pakistan at the Eden Gardens. Pakistan were given an early boost with Shaheen Afridi taking his 100th ODI wicket in the first over itself. Afridi went on to take another after which Haris Rauf got the big wicket of Mushfiqur Rahim. Litton Das and Mahmudullah then produced some fight and added 79 runs for the fourth wicket but since then Bangladesh have lost wickets at regular intervals.

Litton fell for 45, while Mahmudullah slammed 56. Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraj produced some late fight and added 45 runs for the seventh wicket. Haris Rauf then got rid of Shakib for 43(64).

Mohammad Wasim Jr strikes twice in the same over and he wraps up the Bangladesh innings in his next over.

BAN: 204/10 (45.1 overs)

Pakistan needs 205 runs in 50 overs. In how many overs can they chase the target?

Pakistan need an out of the box approach to chase this score in quick time to boost their NRR.

Use of pinch hitter like old days, should be tried.

Should be a straightforward chase.

Good opportunity for Pakistan to get a big NRR boost.

Great bowling by Pakistan. I think they have taken the first step towards securing a berth in the semifinals 👏

This is the black soil Eden track - a type of wicket where I had seen Kumble taking 6/12, India was 120/8 in a WC Semi Final ….. only if we could post 230 here.

204 all out - I hope PAK wins it by big, big margin for my mental peace - if it’s a tight game, till death I’ll live with a question, what it could have been with 240ish target?

Good luck to PAK here - I don’t want for any miracle that could allow the crooks to sweep the garbage under carpet. When you are naked, you shouldn’t be saved by shadows.

chase it down in 30 overs should be target.

Fakhar should play him self and ago all blazing.

I have no idea how is everyone so comfortable chasing this target on this Kolkata wicket?

Talks of chasing this within 20-30 overs are delusional.

Bangladesh have a good bowling attack for this wicket and will cause Pakistan problems. Also, Fakhar is a walking wicket right now so we are effectively playing with ten batsmen.

Iftimania and Babar should open. Iftimania can hit boundaries and Babar can anchor the innings

Has to be Chacha...can play the pacers but not the spinners later on....

Will be gone for work during the chase, but inshallah hoping for the best! Good luck everyone! Would love to see Fakhar Zaman come back to form and cement a spot as an opener with Abdullah Shafique.

Pakistan beating SA and Afg would have been so comfortable atm! Big chance missed

Need to go all out

Chase in 25 overs but not more than 30 overs

Lets see if we can chase by 45 overs. If Australia/Ind/NZ/SA/Eng I can count on them in 20 overs

predictable. Eden Gardends helps seamers. BD is vulnerable against pace. If they had played Hasan in place of Usama Mir they could have bowled thme out for 160.

Why playing with so much fear? Looks like they are just happy to chase even it costs 49 overs.

Far out show some intent. You’re chasing 205 against Bangladesh, and your only hopes of getting a semi final spot will depend on net run rate.

As per Pakistan players pitch is a day 5 last session last hour type wicket

Pakistan looking to take it to the 50th over. Let’s “take it deep”

BD bowling is decent with new ball. May not be earth shattering. But good enough to be given respect.

I think they are not thinking to play semi knowing that they will loose by NZ and England by big margin. They prefer to win only.
