Most countries use their T20I team to blood youngsters yet India carries on selecting the pensioners. Next T20I World Cup is over 2 years away (Dhoni will be 38 or 39 and Karthik will be 34 or 35) yet still they won’t give youngsters a chance.

but he is kind of right. Don't you think? We have to prepare for 2019 and we are still dragging our feet. The same mentality has costed us at least 2-3 major world tournaments.

India Tried Shreyas Iyer in middle order and that hasn't worked at all and his fielding has been terrible, kedar jadhav was good in his early days but he has proved that he is rubbish and his 5-6 under arm overs with the bowl aren't enough for him to be in the side as that's not his primary job.
I think Gill, Kalra and Shaw all need time and shouldn't be forced into the team, they should atleast play 2-3 full seaso s of domestic and then be considered, Indian domestic setup allows a player to become better and better rather than Pakistan domestic setup which completely spoils a player and that's why i am with the notion of calling guys like Shaheen Afridi and Musa And Ali Zaryab into National team or play them only in A tours and not domestics, on other hand i am completely against doing the same for Indian U19 stars.
To me atm India has very few options in Middle order they have to send MS Dhoni at 4 as he cant bat after that, also i am in favour of recalling Suresh Raina as despite having serious problems against short pitch bowling, the guy has been effective for India and has played some brilliant knocks in middle and lower middle order and he is simply worth a try.
I think it's time for Dhoni to retire and imo Pant is only capable wk who can replace him, Dhoni is in the team only bcz India is winning, as soon as India will start losing, he will be out of the team and i am 100% sure about that but i feel Dhoni can play an important role in WC19 if he bats at 4 or even 3 if Virat Kohli drops a place down though i am not in favour of it, India's bowling is getting better day by day and now they should stop worrying about it and start worrying about their batting.
 
SL T20 team is so much better than this Pathetic Indian team.
Instead of blooding in youngsters, they bring in more oldies in the Squad. Why not recall Gavaskar and Tendulkar as well? They would bat better than what Dhoni manages

Shreyas Iyer is not the guy for India. Neither is Pant ( at the moment). Sanju Samson is a great player of pace and can play big shots. Wicketkeeping in LOI is more about batting these days. Dhoni should've been gone atleast couple of years ago. Raina if fit is a good pick.

We have players readily available that can solve India's middle order woes. Just need to give Rahul a run at 4 and he'll come good, and then Manish at 5, followed by Pandya at 6 and Dhoni at 7. Dhoni is not going anywhere till the world cup, but playing him at 4 or 5 is a recipe for disaster. He is even worse than Rahane. Ideally whenever he comes out to bat, he should be given no choice but hit out.

Based on the recent form it has to be PANT
Not everyone can score a 32 ball hundred.
He has been brilliant in shorter formats in this season

India to score 175-180. Weak SA bowling attack + a high scoring ground.

Clueless as to what SA will get, this is such an inexperienced side for them.
 
Probably the weakest SA side since they were readmitted into international cricket. If SA wins this, it will be a HUGE upset.
 
If the pitch is a batting paradise, anything less than 220 would be under par for India given the bowling lineup SA has. This could be a massacre.

Good intent by Raina. Will take that innings every day over ATG finishers 20 of 25 balls innings . Need to iron out recklessness though.
 
Last known batting pair after this our tail begins.. These two need to carry till 14th over atleast.
 
Raina is the type of guy you need at no.5 or no.6.

He will get you a quick 30 runs in 15-20 balls and he is a brilliant fielder and a useful spinner.

A decent innings today. Obviously under a lot of pressure and I don’t know why Kohli sent him at 3. Raina should have come in 14 th over. Not 4th over :))
 
Dala looks skarp... bowling around 90 mph, not right to judge him based on a T20 @ Wanderers, he might be a good replacement for Morkel/ Morris in limited overs.
 
I said at the start of the game that anything under 220 would be below par for India. Maybe India is thinking anything under 240 is below par.
 
India should be aiming for 200 plus from here. Won't be easy for SA to chase that down.
 
This was the time to test players like Pant, kishan, Samson, krunal, Rana, Hooda etc.

Still we have MSD, Karthik in the squad.

Don’t know why Dhoni is still playing T20’s. What purpose does it serve. He is selfish to the core.

Dhoni was a strong proponent of kicking out seniors from the team when he was the captain. Obviously not following his own rules.
 
Loving the atmosphere . Need more crowds like this. Makes cricket even more enjoyable.
 
Smuts will just be milked around with ease by these 2. Don't understand why he is bowling. SA bowling attack today looks weak.
 
Kohli and Dhawan are one of the most luckiest batsman out today. Kohli gets dropped almost every match i guess.
