Today and tomorrow will decide the series.

Our bowlers should bowl their overs keeping in mind that Pujara, Rahane and Pant are in our batting line-up in the 3rd innings.

Keshav Maharaj looks a great batsman to me. He has solid technique and good shot selection.

If Maharaj decided to play for India he'd be batting at #3. Not as a night watchman.

Not sure if he’s a 'great batsman' but he’s certainly done a job for SA by negotiating amazing bumrah and shami spell successfully who both had two cracks at new ball including one last evening.

Markram continued to be useless in Tests like Dussen. Good relentless bowling by India

I am loving the intensity in this test match.

India being its usual best in test cricket, and amazing fight shown by the Proteas despite going through a rebuild process.

That was a beauty from Umesh who has this uncanny knack of bowling such deliveries out of nowhere.

Thank God, we didn't play Ishant in place of Siraj.

I've said this a 100 times and I'll say it again, the more I see of Markram the more I'm convinced that he is a crap test player. Janneman and Hamza are far better.

Pieter Malan is great replacement too.
Imagine Pieter and Janemann opening for South Africa in test cricket.

why is kohli standing so far back, couple of times in last 10 mins could have taken a regulation catch if he came in abit, put the helmet on if your scared of getting hit

India's slip fielders placement is worst. They stand in a line and too far from stumps against 130s bowlers.
Not one fielder moves one or two steps closer to stumps making zigzag for nick on a slow ball.

This man Keegan is great find for South Africa. He is so pleasing to eyes. He along with Jansen should be given a long run.

Umesh is such a spray gun. No wonder, he doesn't have much of a test career till date.

yes defo bavuma i think it was realized when SA were bowling and put a helmet on and came and stood a lot closer than the rest of the slip cordon , india missing a trick.

RSA are scoring some quick runs here. India need to slow down their Run rate.
They are playing with a definite plan.

Shouldn't let them get to 150/3 or thereabouts.

The more I see Peterson the more I get impressed. Long live Quota players, and no more players like Markram and Dussen in Tests.

KP has played a few nice cameos in this series, but big 100s are need from SA when batsmen are getting in.

We are leaking runs too fast.

On the other hand, when we were there Kohli was battling to score.

This so far looks like the carbon copy of first test. Keegan Petersen looks a decent find for South Africa.

For the first time in a long time, I can say that all the black players in their team are there on merit and not just quota picks.

Not having Siraj here seems to have cost India the series here...

Ahh well, they will have to have a crack next series in SA...

SA still feeling a lot of pressure as evident from the mindless risky singles they are attempting

India back in this. South Africa need to build a solid partnership and erase that lead so The lower order can get a handy lead of 80 plus

SA look set for lead around 50, which would be very useful if Indian batsmen perform ordrnarily again.

SA need a 100 partnership from these 2 inform players.

SA have played this series with only three batamen(Elgar, Peterson and Bavuma), the rest have been quite mediocre.

Look at the stuff our bowling line-up has to try and pull off every single innings because of the ineptness of our batsmen.

On hindsight, i guess was a good toss to loose. Look at the condtions, bright and sunny. Was not so yesterday. but then in hindsight, hindsight is only useful when changing yur kids nappies :)
Hopefully Ash Fires big time. For that to happen, need to get good close in fields, we donot have the runs for that. If we donot strike soon, long hard day chasing leather.

Shardul is more than decent 4th seamer... We need to persist with him. And I am not sure if the slip placement is proper by India to suit their bowlers' pace...

Have these 2 woeful batting sides sworn to each other wer not going to cross 225..

Need some 400+ scores if you want a ATG series

We always have our slippers a couple of steps back from where they should be standing.
Cue so many catches going down. Comes down to our pathetic 'lets spin to win' mentality where the ball turns square from day one session one and part times and dart throwers morph into warnelitharan.
If we have decent evenly bouncing wickets in our fc, Ranji, levels, not only will we breed good bowlers and batsmen to tackle pace, but also good slipsmen.
Else, just get resigned to be beaten wheneve rwe tour outside india once 8-10 of this golden gen retire.

Bavuma is in sublime touch. We're pretty generous with certain players, probably scoring his whole quota against us and will bomb againsts others. even as i speak terrific catch by VK - 100th catch in tests...way to go lads...cmon:ds

Must say in Janssen and Petersen SAF have two wonderful players for the future.
Wish some youngsters would come along in indian cricket , and whilst at it make it lh quick.
Been a while and soon we will have lots retiring all at once.
Its now Ash's time to step up and get the tail

That was a great catch by Kohli. His 100th in tests.

That double wicket Shami over has completely changed the complexion of this test.

SA need to hit out and get some runs here, no point grinding for 10 overs and only accumulating 15 runs.

I don't think Bumrah will get off the spell without dismissing Jansen. Its better if Jansen gets out to the other bowler...

SA need to sort their batting you, cant have a novice keeper batting in your top 6 when your batting line up is already very poor. i said at start of match a tail starting at 7 was asking for trouble.

Beefy should remain test specialist, should stay away from LOIs

You said maharaj should have not played but a extra batter but check the contribution of maharaj ,he take important wickets of Thakur and scored 25 .

Petersen should try to hit out now, get quick 30-40 runs and decrease the deficit as much as possible. No point grinding anymore.
