Playing Nitish Reddy is dumb move. Gambhir love affair with bits and pieces allrounder is at another level. :kp

They are weak vs Spin on Asian tracks. They have never struggled in sena. Yes you can find many games throughout the history of cricket that will showcase spinners having a field day vs England and Australia in sena.

Obviously when over a 100,000+ games have been since the inception of cricket you will find such and such,

But the general norm is that it doesnt happen

They should have continued to play with both Nair & Sudarshan (dropping Sai Sudarshan after 1 game is not going to help his confidence). Nitish or Sundar - only 1 should have been playing...

It looks fancy on paper (6 bowlers) and big batting depth... But it may not work either ways practically (bowling or batting), pretty bad team selection...

We need to build new crop of test batsmen (like Kohli/Pujara/Murali Vijay/Rahane in their prime) by shuffling them like this its not going to help...
 
Jaiswal better win this test for india after the gand he pulled in the 1st test

Only the most stupid team management will look to beef up their batting when they are 0-1 down in the series.

Has Gambhir never heard of the old adage, bowlers win you tests while batsmen save them?

And he has not picked even proper batsmen, only the bits and pieces batsmen like Reddy and Sundar.

Prasidh is playing. Only Akashdeep came which was expected in place of Bumrah. Two spinners also but I was expecting Kuldeep instead of Sundar.

Reddy too in place of sai .Gambhir and Gill are very defensive. Both don't have any aggression and plan in test formats.Nair got bogged down at 6 .am not sure what he can do at 3
 
I live very close to the cricket ground. It will be very interesting to see how the pitch behaves. There is a mini heat wave going on in past few days. The temperature is a bit lower today though
 
Indian batsmen will have their work cut out for them. I wouldn't be expecting much from the bowlers. Overall very defensive selection by India to not opt for a specialist spinner like Kuldeep while selecting two spin-bowling all-rounders and one seam bowling all-rounder

Either you should have played a defensive team (6 pure batsmen) OR an attacking team (5 pure bowlers)...

It is a stupid move!

Virat Test captaincy changed the Indian test cricket when he used to play with Five proper bowlers .

GG approach is best suitable for limited over cricket and Indian cricket team is the by far best in limited over cricket. :kp

He is going to play only three test and this was decided prior to the series. Bumrah workload is important for India and we don't want any injury to him .

He has already played 5 Test in BGT series without taking the rest .

In LOIs this strategy will work (Dhoni Style), bits and piece... In T20s we are best, In ODIs we can be caught offguard if the opposition plans properly (but I don't expect Pakistan to be that smart, the way they are messing in matches against India!) Best examples of how you can outsmart India is WC'23 Finals against Australia, and last home test series against NZ... That's how opposition should prepare and plan...

Inside edges are suggestion of a batsman being nervous. Both KL and Nair are nervous wrecks.

Atleast one can understand with Nair but what is KLs excuse?

Compare them to the batting of Jaiswal and you can clearly see the difference.

He is a Brum boy and loves his ground.

In other conditions he is mainly a failure.
 
I've not seen Jaiswal live much but in this series he doesn't look entirely comfortable against the short ball. Several times he's looked very awkward trying to play the cut shot.

Ik I mess with indian posters, but when it comes to Team India I do feel a bit for them.

They are playing with an inexperienced team against a very strong side thats historically damn near unbeatable at home minus the Bradman era where they kept getting owned.

It's just, if Pakistan toured, all arguments would go out the window and they'd act like its easy for Pakistan to win yet they got whitewashed.

So I'm returning the favour. Otherwise no hate to the indian team themselves.

I do hate their goverment run by a twitter expat though.

This is the 11th instance when Rahul has played on in tests out of 23 instances he is bowled in tests.

I think its an exceptionally high number of bowled/played on dismissals for an opening batsman who has not even played 60 tests so far in his test career.
