India looking the dominant side at the moment, although a few quick wickets could change the game totally!

Rohit Sharma is due for his 1st century in SENA
Kohli is due to get a century for a long time
Pant is quite throughout the series
Rahane & Pujara still under pressure to perform (So they have to at least play those blockothone innings)

If all these sync well and bat throughout tomorrow, then India will have a good chance! Let's see...

Not just a good chance - they will win!

India pacer Umesh Yadav on Friday said that India would put up a good second innings score at The Oval and that the visitors were still in the game. Highlights | Scores | News

"Definitely because, with the way wicket is playing now,” Umesh said at the virtual press conference, after the second day’s play of the fourth Test when asked whether India can make a game out of the current situation.

“In the first innings, there was a bit of moisture on the wicket, there was a bit of bounce and the weather conditions were a bit different.

“The way our batsmen are batting, I feel they will do well and we will make a good score at this wicket,” added the 33-year-old pacer.

India were bundled out for 191 in their first innings. England in reply posted 290 as they rode on Oliie Pope’s 81 and Chris Woakes 50 for 99-run first innings lead. India were 43/0 when stumps were drawn.

Umesh also lamented that runs which were conceded in the middle-phase.

“The way we started our bowling, within 40 minutes, we took two wickets, after that we can say it was a drift down, as we conceded 40-45 runs in seven or eight overs, then the batsmen got the rhythm back and came in flow, they also came to know what is to be done.

"You are trying everything, but there is no support from the wicket and then after that after bowlers concede fours, batsmen are on the upper hand and they want to be dominate.

“I feel we made a mistake, the way we took wickets, we should have kept tight, but I feel a bit more runs were conceded in the middle phase, which shouldn’t have been the case."

Umesh, who is playing his first Test in nine months, said the support staff keeps all the players in rhythm and in the zone.

“Usually, if you are not part of the team, then it does not happen that training or bowling stops. So, you are part of the team, so you continue your training and bowl in the nets, so that rhythm is always there.

“I feel when you are a part of the team, the physios, trainers and bowling coach and support staff, know that anyone can play, so they keep you in that zone and make you work hard."

Interesting day ahead. If India don't have a brain fade and lose 5-6 wickets in a session, they will boss the game and will become favorites. England have to thank the tail for putting some resistance because their top order batting was extremely poor.

I think India will score 500 runs today with centuries from Kohli and Umesh Yadav and fifties from Bumrah and Siraj.

On tenterhooks here. Loving the range of predictions lol.

Will be a good watch. Could even be a "classic Test cricket Saturday".

The logical thing to expect is India collapsing in the first session.

Which means India won't collapse.

Something weird will happen.

Not neccessarily weird good.

Just weird.

Hard to believe it is only day three. Test cricket is fast these days.

Not just a good chance - they will win!

I seem to recall this was also MenInG 's prediction during the Headingley Test match :P Robert

All Indians have to do is survive first 2 hours (around 20 overs) and then they can score and build a lead.

This one might be a thriller! :jimmy

They need to show Pakistani batsman's temperament in the first 2 hours. Grind out the bowlers till the conditions become better with sun out.

haha!

Don't ever take me to the races.

The intensity has been relentless throughout this series, hasn't it, MICHAEL HOLDING?

"Yes and not just because of the standard of the cricket and the two teams who are quite evenly matched. But because of the packed schedule, I wouldn't want to be a fast bowler playing five Test matches in six weeks! As we have seen, neither team has been spending a lot of time at the crease batting so the fast bowlers are not getting a lot of rest. But they to find the reserves from somewhere. England this morning need an early wicket to lift that team a bit."

Nasser Hussain:

"We've said all the way through that this series has ebbed and flowed, every crucial session and day - this feels like top of the tree. Probably because of the change in conditions. I reckon out of the whole series, day three at The Oval, flat pitch, sun about to come out, not a lot of spin, not as much swing, good Indian batting line-up; this will be the most challenging conditions for this England bowling attack."

Its how they are playing at them moment - momentum.

MARK BUTCHER has been out in the middle to take a look at the pitch and it is not great news for the England bowlers...

"We're expecting temperatures of up to around 20 degrees and a little bit of sunshine which means this pitch is going to be beautiful for batting once again. We saw last night with Rohit and KL Rahul batting that there seemed to be very little alarm, there wasn't any swing and there were runs to be made.

"Still a bit of live grass that is helping the ball come onto the bat, one or two bare patches so we might see the odd ball stay down but wouldn't worry about that too much until tomorrow or maybe Monday.

"As far as spinners are concerned, there is a little bit of interest, these patches [bowlers' footmarks] are starting to get a little bit rough and dusty, that will grip onto the ball. But India have only really got Rishabh Pant in the top-order as a left-hander so not much to aim at there for Moeen Ali.

"All in all, for England, I think it is going to be a day of hard, hard toil. Work hard, keep things tight and try and winkle out these guys who have not been in great form."

It will hopefully be the best day to bat. I think key will be woakes who might decide fate of this match.

if india bat decently 250 to 300 is possible, but they need to show same application like first innings and since wicket has eased out they can survive longer.
However If they casually drive on the up, it plays to England advantage.

More movement this morning than last night already.

I have a feeling that this is the day the Ind batting lineup will actually live up to their reputation.

English umpires have been extremely biased towards home side this series. At least 15-20 such poor decisions against the visitors, hardly 2-3 against England.

Remember that series against WI last year where WI batsmen successfully reviewed 5 times just in one session.

Someone needs to be vocal about this, England can't be allowed to get away with this 'holier than thou' attitude. Horrible, horrible, jingoistic home umpiring.

Rahul again having issues with incoming balls. (He had that even with West Indies bowlers at home!) That's something to do with the defense he lost with brisk scoring in LOIs with white ball not moving much (that's why he got into the middle order as well)

But they first one to complain when any decision goes to apposition favor. Disgusting mentility

India is in commanding position now. Things start to look different when openers give a start of 50 or more. Even though some would say that it won't guarantee a win for India. :inti

Wiping off the deficit without losing any wicket is the first psychological advantage! Let's see...

Woakes bowling some real jaffa . Most threatening England Bowler in this test .

Pathetic catching by England. Somehow they look even worse than India/Pakistan in slips.

6 dropped catches till now in Oval and one Indian innings still left. That may be the difference in this test.

Impressive stuff from Rohit and Rahul. More so because they are doing it as openers in England conditions.

I think they will improve even more after a confident home series against a reasonable opposition! Hope both of them remain not injured... We want this partnership to carry on for at least another 2 years... These are the toughest conditions, they should carry the confidence to other places...

Pakistan slip catching is one of the best .Imran butt has to be best slip catcher in the world

Meanwhile clouds are just gathering (that's the only worry). Hope these 2 remain till lunch.

He was right and will be criminal for India to throw this away now.

I have seen him flinging across other slip fielders. When you are in good form and confident it looks good but he might drop some crucial catches for Pakistan.
The toughest slip catches are those that come straight at you on different elevations, and you need to be consistently taking those catches.

Six drops for England in this Test so far .The last time they dropped this many in a home Test was the last game of the 2019 Ashes - also at the Oval.

Lolz.... so the biased home umpires who want England to win just gave KL Rahul not out despite a nick noise, bat nowhere near anything else, him obviously nicking it, and snicko proving the nick.

Justice done by the DRS.

Still waiting for that list of '15-20 decisions' that have gone in England's favour. I will keep waiting. I don't think this list of 15-20 decisions exists does it?

Maybe the umpires just sometimes get things wrong.

Lmao. What a completely laughable post!

Rahul and Rohit have done well to level up. Wicket was always going to happen the way Anderson and Woakes are bowling. Time for Chetan Pujara to dig in and score a ton

Important for Rohit not to get out now.

Spike was about bat hitting pad but not sure as all thing happened at the same time
