Doesn't Hamad Azam get picked for Pakistan national side as an all rounder? Amusing to see he hasn't bowled much in this tournament

Flat pitches? He doesn't look as half as good as Rahul but has a much better average..
 
thankfully spin is not Pakistan's worry lots of quality bowlers there :ajmal n :zulfiqarb should be in the playing Xi for 1st test vs SA 14 oct

He should concentrate on his batting only and should target pure batting position in National team instead of as an Allrounder . IMO he is not good in bowling department.

Has anyone who played for the U23s staked a claim for a call up?

For me Sharma, Warrier and Rahul could be pretty close for India.

Rahul is known as a technically correct batsman in the domestic circuit.his idol is Rahul Dravid.don't think it is easy for him to get into indian world cup squad.he is now low in the pecking order and had to have some magical domestic season to do that.

i dont think they are any good tbh
same track and our new ball bowlers did so much better

even chand who got out was literally hammering them before getting out
to me this is not good attack just average at best

and yes credit to batsmen they did played well in final and played at good rate too without getting nervous but bowling quality im not convinced sorry

Kiwi - You turned out to be right (much to my delight).

9 wicket victory with 16 overs to spare.

Great victory but let's get some perspective.

India, Pak has always been good at the U19 and U23 level for years now.

But what matters is the international level (which till recently was dominated by Aussies).

just saw the score card now... horrible collapse but congrats india for winning this.. some positives for the team infact for both teams,. why does ehsan adil suddenly find the ability to bat when he faces india... :P :P never the less congrats india..... hopefully we will see some youngsters on both sides emerge into the team.

I would congratulate the U23 India team. But would say the main players to have taken them where they are 1) KL Rahul 2) Akshar Patel 3) Baba Aparajith.

Now the Former in this list is purely a batsman who can wicketkeep too, but folks who do not know about Akshar Patel, here are some facts. The guy just graduated from U19 team, a tall player who bowls Left arm spin, but here is the surprise, his primary skill is Batting, and check this stat, he was the top scored in the U19 tournament last year in India where the second place scorer(Vijay Zol ) was 150+ runs short of him. He is a decent bat, but the best part is he has control over his bowling too....

Same goes with Baba who is primarily a Batsman, bowls loopy off spin...

India benefiting from playing allrounders( Patel, Aparajith, Menaria) Fillers ( Yadav, Bawne) gives them the flexibility in bowling and batting. I did not see a single match where Yadav had all his main 5 bowlers bowl 10 overs each.

I feel this was their strength in this tournament where the conditions also suited the Spin Bowling Allrounders.
 
The results in these matches don't have much importance.
As long as you keep finding 3-4 talented players who can be picked for national team bench, all is well.

Well that's putting things very mildly my friend!! It's a competitive world, these tournaments are not for fun, winning tournaments, instills confidence in players and always helps.

Yes win or lose there would be players with solid and weak temperament, but i wouldn't say the matches do not have much Importance
 
Said it yesterday we were gonna crush them. India are BEASTS in ODI cricket for all age groups. U19, U23s, The A teams, The senior Teams, The ICC tourneys. You name them, we win them.

Nah most of today has been my honest opinion with some jokes, it may seem like trolling but it's just some home truths for Pakistani fans.

I am seriously worried about Pakistan's future, your board is a joke and you aren't producing quality players any more.

That was a series we lost, but that doesn't mean we aren't good or best in the world currently. Even the WI/Aus sides used to lose a match or series here and there.. and this Indian ODI side isn't as great as WI/Aus.. but still currently we are no.1 ODI side and WC/CT winners.

Let's at least give respect to that instead of hyping one odd series loss. Champions trophy was a global ICC tournament recently and winner of that has a fair claim to be the best in the world.. I can accept WC 2011 was 2 years ago.. but CT is recent.

Some serious Thrashing there. For people saying india good in ODI's, Please switch to India A vs SA A.

Team India in building phase but i m sure we will do well.

Any Ind team can defeat any Pak team in tests any given day.
 
Multi nation tournament final, India vs Pak, it was just a mere formality to play this match. Future players looking to go on the same path as well.
 
Wow, Pakistan always lets us down, disappointed to be a fan, why can't we even get to 200, pathetic batsmen deserved to lose, LOL at everyone saying "feel sorry for India, you're gonna get hammered" was it opposite day or something? I can do better than our mediocre and crappy batsmen like Hammad "next Razzaq" Azam.
