How is Sharma bowling speed wise?

If he was bowling quick Cricindia would be listing the speeds ball by ball.

Katich scoring freely and majestically.

on the other divide.
Bangladesh making inroad into New Zealand.
NZ = 65/5 in 17 overs

Australia should declare.. With the ancient indian batsmen they have enough to defend twice now.

No that would be the sort of dumb decision a Saffer captain would make against Aus :D

I thought we'd have some crowd here.. even my fellow Indian members are nowhere.

Good competitive stuff this. Not too sure about the decision to bowl Sharma for 8 straight overs though; methinks he's better served in shorter spells of 5-6 overs.

The Aussies would be quite happy to go to lunch with just the one wicket down. The Indians would ideally love to snap up Punter. Important 35 minutes to come...

Aussies will make 400+ first innings here.
Sad to see that Krejza is not playing.
Would have been a disadvantage for the Aussies if he did.

India needs a wicket here so bad. Ponting and Katich are sailing so smoothly.

I think Katich is a good foil for Ponting. He'll go about his business, put a price on his wicket and give his captain support. Ponting will score runs as long as he's out there and Katich is the stable sort of partner that will allow Ponting to play freely.

Fisrt session belongs to aussie. ponting looking very good!!!!

I expect a long hard day for India.
Ponting looking solid and Krapich won't take any risks.
Pitch looks excellent for batting.

Wow, if Ponting and Krapich are scoring runs easily, imagine how well the proper batsman in the Aus team will do? India are looking a pace bowler short.

Should be 0/100 had Hayden not been given out incorrectly.

For the benefit of our Indian friends the score is actually 0/100 in the minds of all Australians.

You would imagine this might get quite annoying if it is mentioned in every post eh? :D

However, Ishant Sharma's hair is looking magnificent.

The hair is swinging in and swinging away from the batsman.

U mean to say Ponting and Katich are not proper batsman? :Sami

It indeed is annoying to hear these umpiring errors again and again...

But once again, this was a error which potentially could have damaged AUS more than it has now... considering that Hayden is AUS best batsmen in India :)

No I will just whine in every thread about the umpiring and maybe you will get how annoying it is. :D

So now you know how much fun that is, isnt it? Next you should start taking some effigy burning lessons. Its the next best thing to sex and marijuana. Total liberation :D

It would be hilarious to see a mob of Aussies burning effigies :)) Beer in hand

This is a crucial phase of the match. Either team can build from a good position here. Aussies have a deep batting line up in this match. they bat right upto no 8 and India bat only upto no 6 reputably.

So, what happened with ARY, they would broadcast this match?? :batman:

They do have India-AUS on their EPG, but are showing PAK drama's instead....

now i understand why most of the aussies hate Krapich.
a wicket please.
Indeed, i really dont know what he is doing in a team like Australia...

50 for Ponting. Good innings so far. Something tells me he's only getting started...

This pitch has no bounce. I reckonn S. Clarke will have a hard time.
Could work to his favour if the bounce becomes a bit more variable considering that he's basically a wicket-to-wicket bowler.

Australia have started solidly despite loss of hayden. Good to see pointing in from and looks like katich has dropped anchor!

variable bounce would help him yes. but not low bounce. basically, guys will be able to plant front foot down and drive on the up at his pace. if you see ponting, he playing almost 80% or more on front foot.

Neither do we :pissed:

And why the hell is Mark Nicholas commentating? NOOOOOOOOOOOO

Get away from my cricket match you pathetic English brown noser.

Everyone continually writes Stuart Clark off.

That is all.

He's doing a good job for you though. The man's a fighter, every team needs one or two of those.

lets see. this series is a tough challenge for him. if gets wickets here, power to him.

now that he has revealed about his indian roots, we will be little gentler on him :D

I agree that the wickets don't suit him but the whole time he has been in the team it has been:

Not quick enough

Doesn't seam the ball enough

Doesn't swing the ball enough

Will be no good on spinning wickets

Not enough variation etc etc

But he keeps taking wickets. Even in the tour game he bowled badly but took 6 wickets at under 20 runs apiece.

no fast bowler enjoys bowling in India. Even wasim was pissed off during their 99 tour.

God I hate Mark Nicholas

"What placement from Simon Katich"

Man would describe a snail race like it was the birth of the universe

Dude I'd still take him over the Arun Lal's and Zaheer Abbas' of this world.

Hey come on! Arun Lal is the moglie of cricket commentators. cant hate him.

Guess familiarity breeds contempt. If you had to listen to him all summer long gushing with joi de vivre about legside singles you would hate him too.

Where is the most axcellent commentator? :younis

100 for 0 (Hayden wasn't out ..the umpires are anti western cheats).

Hey hey, Asad Rauf is just blind.

Spinners truly in tandem now. Tough spot for India on a first day pancake. It's getting a bit predictable and monotonous and Kumble may need to change it up a bit. Maybe Ganguly for an over or two or even Sachin to turn his arm over for a spot of leg spin/off spin/medium pace?

Ponting playing a very gritty innings here, thank you MODI you stupid punk Extacy junkie, you waste of skill, stupid white a*** licking fool. Giving them 10 tailor made wickets to practice on, hopefully when our boys go to Aus next we should get a match back in Darwin again for practice a few days before a game at the MCG...

Starting to score a bit quicker thank god.

Had the Indian favouring umpire not theifed Hayden out we would have a lot more on the board by now so we are actually 0/145 in the minds of all Australians.

Next time you might get a match on Christmas island as repayment for your charter plan stunt. :D

Spinners are not effective at all at this moment. Kumble should try Ishant from the other end.

I always wanted to go to Christmas Island what actually happens there ? does santa live there ????? :))

katich was out lbw to kumble. so australia are 105/2 in the minds of all Indians.

True, Nicholas does get a bit vomit-inducing commenting on Aus-Eng matches.

Not sure where :younis is, but wherever :younis is, he's being legendary at whatever he's doing.
