It was difficult to see.... yeah, its easy for us behind tv's with mutiple replays...

Besides, no one other than Kumble thought it was out.

Dude BRendan Julian aussies commentator commentating saying it is out... :))

Keith said:
Awesome indeed! He consulted with the other umpire who would have had a better view of it and made his decision accordingly. Good umpiring!

No he didnt consult the third umpire, he consulted with Asad Rauf. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!!! GOOD UMPIRING INDEED!!!!!!

That was a strange one... I though Kumble was having a laugh when he appealed for it, but it looked close on replay..

Bad decisions 1 Aus - 1 Ind?

Seems fair to me.

No other players went up other than kumble, the keeper going up was to merely join in. Benefit of the doubt ALWAYS go to the batsman. The umpire has 1 look at it and that is all. Good decision. agreed.

Sooking about the umpiring again? What a surprise :)))

No mention of Hayden being given out wrongly, just India getting a raw deal of course.

Where did Keith say he consulted the third umpire? He said he consulted the OTHER umpire....

btw, indeed from the replays its clear its out. And thats what the Aussie commentators said.

This is what cricindo says

Umpire Koertzen thinks it's a bump ball, and there is enough doubt.

At no time did i say that he consulted the 3rd umpire!! I said he consulted the other umpire!! GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!!!! :batman:

No doubt Rudi will be booted out of India and the BCCI will be supporting Team India to hold the ICC to ransom until they get their own way.

There will soon be no elite ICC umpires left that meet the requirements of the Indians.

For it to be a bad decision you would have to say Kuble took the catch, looking close is not good enough you have to be sure it was out to call it a bad decision.

Koertzen's career about to end courtesy BCCI

No this wasnt a bad decision....

The Hayden dismissal was a bad one indeed, but after seeing replays i maintain this wasnt a bad one... enough doubt and no one beside Kumble went up to appeal (others just joined in..)

Ok yes you did, my mistake but that was out!!!!.. 2-1 in favour of OZ so far as far as umpiring goes, plump LBW not given before.. At the end of the series gauranteed Oz will lead umpiring decisions going their way...

It was not out, it was given not out therefore it is not out.

This gets so tiresome.

As a side note, how biased is the Cricindia commentary?

Series has just started, and u started whining about umpiring already...

U know what, only Indian umpires are good for team India i think, maybe BCCI should do that. Like good old days...

I cant believe u overlook the one and only real error made in this match, and that was Hayden given wrongly out for a DUCK... we all know how good Hayden is, and he is their best batsmen (in India)

There is no law stating a number of players have to appeal to be given out, that was out it kicked off the ground onto Harbhajan's bunny's bat then to Kumble....

not out ? what Harbhajan's bunny one or hawkeye showing Katich being hit plumb on middle stump ? :))

Another missed opportunity by the indian fielders!!! Hussey should have been on his way!! sun, wind , moles - something must be to blame .....

There isnt idd.. did i say that?????

What i meant to say was it didnt LOOK out... or better: there was no way a human eye could say it was out from seeing it live...

But im getting tired about these same issues again, maybe we can create a separate thread for this. I'd like to discuss the match here if u guys dont mind

No I didnt overlook the Hayden dismissal, why do you think I said 2-1 in favour of OZ so far ?? read my post properly next time...

I hope so, it is so much fun reading posts from Indian fans when they complain about the umpiring.

Cricinfo

Going back to the Kumble catch controversy in the last over. The zoomed-in replay showed it might just have been out: the ball landed before it hit the bat. It is understood that the review system is not here, but the umpires could have gone to the third umpire. Would it have been conclusive enough? Tough to say.

Umpires mate, umpires. It's quite obviously the umpires fault the ball didn't carry. It's the bias you see.

LoLz I just joined the forum to see Indian Fans complaining and God is my wish Granted or what.

Come on Indians continue it till you get Indian umpires for home and away games.

Dear Mr. Kumble: Play for it, do not pray for it!! Too high. My grandmother could have seen that 1!!

We just have to put this behind us, India have to beat Oz and the umpires together, we have the team to do it!!!!!! come on boysss lets goooo....

73.4 Kumble to Ponting, no run, there's a shout! Kumble slips in a quicker one, looks to be the slider, Ponting sees the short length and tries to pull and gets struck high on the inner thigh, to the naked eye it appears in front of off stump but Koertzen shakes his head ... replays suggest it was high, nevertheless Kumble is livid

So What you guys say, another one goes in Aussies favour, LoLz.This is Pathetic.

Just wanted to bring to everyones attention that Bangladesh has almost completed an upset win over new zealand by 8 WICKETS!

Bangladesh require another 10 runs with 8 wickets and 50 balls remaining

Junaid Siddiqui 84* (133)
Ashraful [yes, ashraful] 57*(49)
Mashrafe got 4 wickets earlier.

You may go back to your game now :-)

On a level playing field mate we would wipe the floor with you even with all this umpiring help you lots just narrowly beating us on win-loss ratio...

Or probably the AC functioning in the Australian room is directed towards the ball so that It should not get carried to the Indian Fielders :))) :)))

Kumble should expect a fine after that. Very unacceptable, especially as it clearly was too high. More awful behaviour by an Indian.

Big coming from a team that once SHane Warne played for who openly went up to Aleem Dar and yelled out maybe someone should teach you the LBW rule :)) ....

And Shane Warne was often repremanded and fined for it, and so should grumpy dumpy Kumble.

Which to me seems his last Test series as a player and Captain. :P

from bbc text commentary

1116: Aus 216-2 (74 overs)
Ponting rocks on to his back foot to swat Kumble through mid-on, but completely misses the ball, sparking a huge appeal from Kumble and all the close fielders, but once again umpire Rudi Koertzen is unmoved. the South African gives the Indian captain a right good stare with his hands on his hips to indicate his displeasure at the overzealous appealing, which to be fair, was overzealous. Replays suggest the umpire was right to turn the appeal down, the ball hit Ponting on the thigh pad

:))) :))) I smell a fine for Krumbling Kumble :))) :)))

And this dimwit Kumble the saint gives sermons to other players about the spirit of cricket. What a two faced jerk.

78.4 Harbhajan Singh to Ponting, OUT, and Ponting goes lbw! Thats the ninth time he's fallen to Harbhajan in Tests, but perhaps it hit him outside the line ... Harbhajan tosses it up outside off stump, Ponting goes down to sweep, getting his front leg across, but the ball stays low and hits the pad, so after a long thought Asad Rauf gives it out
RT Ponting lbw b Harbhajan Singh 123 (243b 13x4 0x6) SR: 50.61

Absolutely. When it comes to sportsmanship Kumble's rating is zero, however when it comes to gamesmanship his rating is 10.

Another poor decision against Australia. You should have heard Sunil when hawkeye showed the ball missing leg-stump... complete silence...

Man, did anyone expect hawk-eye would say the ball would miss legstump by such a big margin???

lollol said:

Absolutely. In real time watch the direction of the keeper. That always gives it away.

It didn't look out live, and it didn't look out in the replay. The Australian Cricket Board should demand that Asshat Ruaf be banned from umpiring Aus matches or else we will threaten to boycott the rest of the tour.

Umpire's life depends on this test he better give Australia a Poor decision to leave India alive.

Congratulations Bangla Desh

Bangladesh win by 7 wickets to seal the first ODI. Ashraful grabbing the stumps as his teams runs onto the field.

I think the moral is that umpiring standards the world over are poor and something needs to be done about it.

Lucky he wasn't commentating when the racist South African gave Ponting not out. Sunny might have had a seizure.

Cant even see it on my crappy stream :P

I really cant watch cricket on these streams... i wonder how many of u guys can..

A real classy hundred from Ponting. He played excellently. He talked about how determined he was to score runs in India and he's set up his side really well.
