If mike hussey doesnt come out of retirement then Australia will be streamrolled by England in the Ashes.

Jadeja has done a fair job , he should be respected :P
Any spinner would look world class in this situation, you earn respect by performing against top teams on unfavorable tracks e.g Pattinson

I think you just insulted those two by comparing them with Tracer Bullet

On the contrary they should consider it a compliment. As obnoxious as he is, no denying that Shastri was a vital cog in the team during his playing days. A good batting all rounder.

aussies missing mike badly

but dat aside this series is more like clarke vs india:P.....and clarke has produced another gem of a knock here

Hussey retired way too early

Suprisingly Hussey is very horrible shield form.

Punter's in great form though.

I'd select the following team for England

1. Warner
2. Rogers
3. Hughes (last chance)
4. Voges
5. Clarke
6. Wade
7. Henriques
8. Siddle
9. Pattinson
10. Bird
11. Lyon

12. Butterworth

Any chance of a SOS to Ponting and Hussey? You guys made a mistake letting Brownlie go

You mean his playing days when we were crap. Its easy to be a cog in a team that stinks :yk

India would be pleased , 250 is far bellow par score here. Aussies do not have bowlers whatever there is on offer on this pitch.

Brownlie isn't much chop.

Played against him in Western Australian Grade Cricket

:out

Sir Jaddu strikes. Clarke out. Unlucky to miss out on a 100 but he did the team thing to look for quick runs. Great knock. Have a feeling Clarke is going to put :don like numbers this series.

Good thinking by Clarke, if they can get 1 wicket at least before Close, he'll be happy.

Clarke has declared LOL. Ultiamte insult. India close the day on 10/2 Vijay 0(1), Sehwag 4(2)

Shows more ticker than your current lot

We do need more sandgropers in the team.

If WA can be bowled out for less than 100 in the first innings twice this season and win both games then Australia can win after declaring.

This is why you need a spinner or two...Aussie would be in this if they could present quality, alas, step forward the X-man :)))

haha, well the build up to Ashes hasnt been ideal, first England got mauled at home and now Aussies struggling against Jadeja. They're still pretty good sides thou but the level of cricket wont be very high this summer. :(

Still the 2nd and 3rd best teams on the planet

Clark knows the last batsman could not have added much.
5 overs at a struggling opening pair? Pacers can go hard for 5 overs and can start fresh again tomorrow, India are the only team that can suffer from the declaration.

Everytime they show Murali Vijay's face on TV, I want to punch the TV. God I hate him. :69:

cricket is unpredictable game. You may never know.

Also a positive move that will help team morale.

So you expect Sehwag to go hard for 3 overs? The openners will likely just try to survive the 3 overs which will only benefit the bowlers.

2 walking wickets in the form of viru and vijay are at the crease. Can they survive 7 more deliveries this evening?

Good move from Clarke! I'm a supporter of this imaginative creative Captaincy! Makes it more interesting to watch

Good day in the end for India. Didnt look like it when Aus were 200/4 but a good comeback in the end. Will be intrsting to see for how many mins the openers will last tomorrow.

Shane Warne doesn't seem like such an idiot now something clearly wrong with CA.

Vijay looked all at sea in those three overs.

I don;'t think I was the only one who was praying that he falls and we can get rid of him for good.

Gotta wait until tomorrow for that to happen now.

I must say the BCCI images are pretty amazing

Aus way short of the mark. Needed at least 400 to make a game of it. Clarke needs to move up the order no question about it. Aus seems to be in denial when it comes to their batting woes.

A very strange declaration, what sort of message is Clarke sending to his tailenders? He does not have faith in them to add bonus runs? This is not the fight to the death Australian team i am familiar with.

Not many able replacements! Maybe Khawaja for Hughes... The quality is not there

But this is the Austrlian team I know! Showing faith in his tailenders to pickup wickets in the remaining time... Cricket needs more attacking Captains like Clarke

I thought the message was other-way around. He wanted to get some cheap wickets before the close of play (Vijay and Viru looked all at sea against Oz bowlers so far) and put India under pressure. In a way, I felt this declaration appeared to be coming from the books of Ian Chappell's captaincy manual :)

Had to go out at 187/4 and returned back in an hour and a half to see India batting. Australia batting around Clarke like India batted around Sachin during the early 90s.

Yeah I meant at least Clarke moving up to 3 or 4 where he'll have a better shot at controlling the game rather than being left stranded after coming down the order. Also the squad they picked was at least a specalist bat or two short (could have included someone like Bailey or Voges).

Hyderabad produced many entertaining games....Hope this one turns out to be a good one .

If Clarke goes up the order and India dismiss him early, there is no one to prolong the innings and Aussies would fold like a pack of cards. Clarke is better off coming in at 5 where he has a fair idea of how much reconstruction has to be done - so he can choose the style of play, whether to go for attack or take a more cautious approach.

Your predictions for India's innings score ? i think around 300 .

Depends on how our batters handle Pattinson. If we don't loose more than 2 wickets before lunch, 300 is easily on the cards : captainobvious
