I'd like Younis to get a double here.
 
I'm banking on Younis getting another 198 runs in this innings so he can get his 5000th run too.
 
Meanwhile Yousuf looks he's still struggling ... he's fallen bigtime from his feats last season.

The most realistic chance we have of winning this is to score 500, then bowl India out for 200 and then chase 320 on day 5.
 
Yousuf has not scored a century in his last 10 innings.

In the 10 innings preceeding that....his scores were as follows:

true. I am all for one ballistic session of batting tomorrow (if we can have wickets in hand that is) to slog a few overs, put india in at around tea time, and ask our bowlers to attack the stumps;

I would disagree ... the only chance we have is to bat at a fast rate and get to 750+. Ideally you don't want to have to bat again, and make India play defensive on the last day so that it gives our bowlers a chance to make some inroads.

My scenario is realistic.....yours is idealistic!

see, the main part there is batting at a faster rate. thats y i said bat til around team time tomorrow, with one ballistic session of slogging. Now, where that takes us depends on our batsmen

Well someone's gotta be the idealist ... :D

Anyways India did move along at over 4RPO for most of the first 2 days, so I don't see why if we keep wickets in hand we can't go at a similar pace. If we can bat through all day today and then most of tommorow at 4 RPO, it will get us to 760 ... which will be a lead of about 140. Important thing is to keep wickets in hand, and of course it will mean a few incredible knocks from our batsmen. If there was ever an Indian attack we could score 750+ against ... this is probably it.
 
when was the last time we were 212 for 2 in any innings?

Well we have a history of 'doing India in' from perilous positions......has happened 4 or 5, maybe even 6 times! So we are use to it, and pretty much expect it now!

VRV Singh was better than Ishant and faster too. He is a good late order bat who can throw his bat around.

But Ishant was selected ahead of him because VRV Singh has his God Father-IS Bindra, one of the most influential BCCI Bosses.
how & why?

because Both Ishant and VRV are on the list of probables for the australian tour. the way sreeshanth, RPS,Munaf, ZK are injured, one of them will definitely make it to the party.

But the chances of the bowler selected for the bangalore test against Pak on a feather bed will be destroyed because Pak batsmen will feast the seamers on this strip.so, Bindra ensured that VRV is not exposed to pak batsmen and will be selected for Australia.

poor Ishant Sharma.
(personally i want VRV to make the touring squad because he can get bounce, work up 140k and will bowl 20-25 overs with out breaking down like Munaf. he does not have much variation.)

well beating us at home is something you haven't done for about 290 years or something. 29 years is it? Same difference.

Wonder what it must feel like for you rneighbour to come over and for you to never be able to beat them for 290 years (or 29, same difference).

We'll see how things go in this game ... but might give it to them this time ... and make them wait another 29 years before they get their next chance.

yeah.. as if we were defeated every time at home.. 5 series were played in toto in 30 odd years.. 4 ended up as draws.. not a big deal.. hardly the sign of wood.. wood is world cups.. and this series where your team is running from corner to corner to save a$$.. isnt it the case since day one of this series..

but nothing beat Sreesanth running back to his bowling mark with his tail between his legs when he 'tried' to sledge Inzi! Repeat....TRIED to! :))) I still laugh thinking about it! He was petrified! As if he had just sworn at his grandfather and his father was walking up to him with a danda!
 
I wonder how much that wicket had to do with Yousuf spat with Kumble. But he should have been smarter than to let it get to his head.
