What ?? 7 down? just went for lunch when we were 3 down.

Saha gone for duck :)) Did anyone see him play live? was he worth giving this chance?

This situation reminds me of Banglaore 08 vs the aussies when Bhaji and Zaheer hit a hundred run patnership and helped salvage a draw.

Intresting to see if S.A fore the follow on or try and force a win by batting India out of the match.

Would S.A want to bat last on this wicket if they force follow on...?
They will definitely enforce the follow on if they have a chance to do so. Deciding what total is enough is a headache and can cause a lot of time wastage.

Hehe well that idea's gone.

Didn't give much chance to the viewers to observe his game as he got out on the first delivery trying to leave the ball and getting bowled.

Eight down now.

As they found out against England twice.

Maybe not.

Steyn is deadly accurate.

P.S. Misra has a Test fifty under his belt.

This confirms Steyn as the best bowler in the world today for me.

**** poor shot by Zaheer though, what the hell was that.

Thanks.

Hopefully he will play more than 1 ball in follow-on innings and get judged.

The scorecard looks funny with Sehwag and Badri with some score and rest almost nothing.

This reminds me of another situation when India dug themselves out a hole by batting for just over 2 days .. in Napier :70:

and some people here think Asif is better then him :)) no disrespect to Asif he is possible the 2nd best atm but no way can he do that on a flat track.

Another one gone. Ishant to come in. I hope he doesn't bring two left gloves by mistake. :p

Well Asif IS better with the new ball but as you say, Steyn's ability to use pace with the old and semi new ball means he's a threat on these roads.

62.2
Steyn to Mishra, OUT, Cleaned up! Steyn lets out a roar of joy! Another tailing in with the shiny side, from just outside off stump, Mishra thinks he is GR Viswanath and goes for a late cut and edges it on to his stumps! What a dramatic final session this has been, Immense fun.

A Mishra b Steyn 0 (9b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

:))) :)))

Yes, Saha doesn't have another chance after the second innings of this Test.

Maybe Graeme's taken a bite out of the ball...

Bit harsh on Mishra, the ball jagged in about a foot and he was caught in no man's land.

This was a surprise selection. This guy has a total of around 30 domestic match under his belt. How come he got selected for a test squad. With Dravid, laxman, yuvi injured I thought Raina would have got a chance to get to test from ODI squad.

So my prediction was just about spot on! SA will not need to bat again! I should have put a bit more money on it from the start, hey but a bit is better than nothing!

My prediction, IND are on a downwards spiral for the next 5 years atleast in Test and ODI! They will win the odd match, but that is about it and god help them away matches!

There's no other explanation for 220 /4 to 233 /9.All we need now is evidence.

Wow, that is one sharp observation based on the first innings collapse by India, remember India are a second innings specialist side and the game is not over but, I am definetly enjoying India suffering without their big guns (Dravid,Laxman)

Just shows the future is not all bright and rosy...

Wow, 7 for Steyn. Amazing effort from him, expect India to pile on 400+ here, the wicket is still flat and theres no hope unless they get the same amount of reverse going.

I think it was a logistical decision that was forced on Dhoni. I think nobody was near enough to be inducted into the team and hence Saha got lucky.

Terrible 46 deliveries for India after Tea.

So we lost 7 wickets in 42 runs. Thats a classic collapse. How badly we are missing Dravid and Laxman. :)

Saha shouldnt even have been selcted for this tour.Quite ridiculous when you have Kohli , Pujara , Raina all waiting.

Hmmm, that explains. Otherwise, it didn't look logical at all.

But looks like Badri grabbed his chance in both hands. I wish the team sticks to him for sometime.

brilliant exhibition of fast bowling by steyn.. well done. Without dravid and laxman indian batting looking fragile. Saha was lucky to play for india when players like pujara/manish etc were waiting in the wings

Anyway, This is a day when we can see Sehwag bat twice. So bad that I am at work.

Another ton?

But thats what happens if you get lucky in selection or get sifarish.

A couple of matches and then bye-bye. Finally someone deserving will take the spot. don't worry.

Hate quoting myself but sometimes there is a need!
"SA to get 600 and declare, IND all out for 280 and follow on then all out for 240!"

If you take the SA runs down to there 558 instead of my predicted 600, IND total runs look on the money to me!

The only thing IND is special at is flat tracks and playing minnows, in cricket there is nothing special about that! :)))

If India are half smart, they'll just tire the SA bowlers out this evening. Just leave everything outside off.

Smith showing a lot of guts here even though we dont have a middle order barring SRT.. Aussies wouldnt have enforced the follow on they would have chicken out against us..

Doesnt matter, will be in top 3 anyways if you consider all others are minnows :))

Whoa! Steyn - what a bowler. I left home when India went for tea. When I reached office and logged into Cricinfo, we were already 8 down (and now all out)! Stupendous performance from the #1 bowler.

The three wickets which fell in the morning session were all peach deliveries. How I wish we had a bowler of that calibre :(. The one that got Vijay reminded me of Hadlees ball to Sanjay Manjrekar which got him the record of the highest # of test wickets at the time. The only difference is that the one that got Sanjay (who wanted to leave the ball) pitched wide (just inside the wide line) and swung in a mile to bowl him. Steyn's ball swung too but a little less - terrific ball nevertheless!

It would be interesting to see India's approach in the second innings. Saving the game?A tall ask no doubt which becomes even more tougher with the replacements we have at the moment (thankfully Badri played well). But rain or shine I will support my team. Go India!

Boucher has been very untidy in this Test match. Even the great Boucher is ageing?

Good call, but SL, BANG and WI might have something to say about that in the not to distant future! :)))

Steyn continues from where he left off in the first. Tends in.

He is aging ofcourse BUT AB is keeping wicket!!!

Boucher has had a bad back so AB Devilliers is keeping, has been for most of the day..

I have to say IND is look much worse than PAK at the moment. Atleast PAK played AUS at home on intresting wickets and did a lot better than IND is currently doing at home!
