India are to going to lose! South Africa have a chance lead up in this series.

Who is this Saha guy? Why would you play two keepers? Obviously Saha can't bat for peanuts, surely anyone would have been better than him.

It was because of the composition of final 14 or 15. Sharma, was a back up for Laxman. Laxman was injured. Then Sharma got injured on the morning of the Test, the soft ****, and they did not have time to call a specialist bat.

Saha got lucky. He was supposed to be there as a specialist keeper replacement, has a first class average in the mid 30s FFS.

Well Tendy and Dhoni are going to have to pull out some special knocks to save the match mate. Still saveable mind you.

From 400 to 200 in a couple of hours! Somebody is losing ground here. :p
I revised my calulations after having a short read on chaos theory and have concluded that Sachin's deterministic nature doesnt make a prediction on him impervious to random elements or conditions of chaos ... a.k.a steyn.

Ok , I have no idea what that means.Lets just say Sachin is old.

They all of them will need something special if we are to save this game.

But fair play to SA; we don't deserve to. We were simply outclassed.

Supposedly we are the # 1 test team in the world - and we don't have a bowler, save Zaheer Khan, who's done anything outside the ordinary in this game.

Wakey, wakey!

Because IS is world class,he proved that against BD.And Bhajji...wait he sucked against BD too.

At the same time Steyn was just wonderful, superb. There's something about a class fast bowler that sets one's imagination afire...even if he's setting fire to your team.

I'm just astounded as to exactly why India, with their level of hysteria surrounding cricket + a ridiculously large population, cant find/produce 2 WC FAST bowlers.

It just doesn't make sense; Its like the "batting mafia" kidnaps them or something...

Steyn - See, no matter how fierce Donald/Ambrose etc were they wern't as likable as Steyn for some reason - seems like a safe guy in persona akin to Asif! Cheeky but not a tool.

Indeed, the white Waqar...

India to post 300+ but SA to win this.

If India bat well in their 2nd innings (which isn't off to the most promising start) and can get a lead of 125-150, that'll be a tricky total to chase on a 5th day crumbler. Mishra and Harbhajan will be in business I reckon.

But to get there means India score 400 additional runs in 120 overs, assuming they give themselves 2 sessions on the last day to go after the saffers. Not impossible but very hard without Sehwag there.

SA are well and truly in control.

Indian team about to go into Sri Lanka/Bangladesh withdrawal syndrome.

Symptoms may include - stumps being shattered by yorkers, helmets being hit by bouncers, batting collapses] and effigies of so called #1 team being burnt :p

Oh my .. what a prediction :p

When the going gets tough, the tough get going .. back to the pavilion in a hurry in this case.

From here on its Safrica's match to lose/draw. Great bowling from SA ,steyn in particular.
This was expected scenario.........india bowled out by bangla in the first innings of first test to a similiar score and SA is way better, so no come back in 2nd innings as well........
Hope they prove me wrong by good batting display........ :(

I was shocked and saddened to see this scoreline. My poor India :(

Long may they suffer! :D

Not me. And if it does, remember the last pitch served up by SA and England in their crunch game.

Basically my theory on pitches is - visiting side, shut up and play.

I'm revising my predictions further.Sachin to get just a hundred and then the two youngsters go on to play the innings of a lifetime thus sealing shut Dravids and Laxman's re-entry for good .. time to blood the new ones !

Just saw highlights. Badrinath is the Indian version of Fawad Alam. Nothing to do with technique but honest players who are making most of their talent. I think he scored more runs through gully in any other region. A lot of his shots look awkward...like he was falling over or sliding. He really stretches himself when a ball is outside off and that is why so many go through gully.

On a wicket with a bit more seam movement, he will be gone.

Steyn was bowling his normal deliveries, most of them inswingers. It was Indian batsmen who were simply clueless against the swing. They have been continuously playing on flat pitches for last 3-4 years and were expecting that one more phatta wicket will help them win and maintain their 1st ranked Test ranking, but Styen had something else for these full time FTBs.

India has played in England, SA and Australia in last 4 years :13:

Hopefully SA smash them today and finish it off.

What is India's biggest ever defeat at home? I can pray.....

Yes they might lose this if they play badly in 2nd innings..
but credit to RSA.

Again, RSA being RSA they may choke big time :))

India will lose today, no doubt about it. Steyn is on fire and Morkel also consistently bowling quick. India only have Sachin, Murali, Badri and Dhoni, I don't really count Saha, and out of these only Sachin and Dhoni has any real experience at test level.

Hopefully we will do well in the next match.

Hopefully you won't do well on the DSOM pitch :)

Not long to go, couple of hours, I am excited!

Being a Pakistani fan, i was just hoping for amazing cricket. I hope we see a cracking battle between Dale Steyn and Sehwag in the next test too.

Good day, guys.

So Vijay goes sweeping Harris. Caught at the fence. Ind 3 down.

Top edging a sweep against Harris and getting caught on the boundary while following on is just stupid.

An Indian wicket does the trick every time. :D

Hola A_F :afridi

I would like to see the stumps being shattered before lunch.

Let the dance for wickets begin :127:
Hoooooooooooooooooo :127:

Gavaskar: Tendulkar doesn't like the leg stump line. Ashley Giles choked him up on that line.

Badri cops one on the shoulder. At the moment all strokes he has played have been 'leg byes'.

If I remember that series correctly, Gavaskar disliked that line much more than Tendulkar.

Gavaskar being a naughty boy in his discussion about his height and how being short was advantageous to him.

But then he clarifies...that size does matter :inzi :moyo

:))) I can imagine.

That's hypocricy and double standards for you. Because Bhajji and even Tendulkar (when he used to bowl) have always been excessively fond of that outside leg-rough line.

which i am not, so tell me what happened. :D
Well he said that in some things in life (such as fielding) size does matter.

Pretty tough chance, but according to South African standards that should have been taken

Tendu dropped by Kallis?
Dropped but it was difficult. Was dying on him.

Tendulkar tried to play a short ball with eyes closed just before that.

This explanation was brought to you by Momo's Censor Board :D

I guess Tendu will save the day for India. A rare feat to score century and save India from defeat:)

You guess wrong, he is going down with the rest of them. :) I hope.

This pitch is a nightmare for wicketkeepers. That and some of the lines being bowled by the quicks.

Salam :)

I don't think even a 100 or a 150 by SRT would be enough for India here.... if SA don't win this, the Anti-Corruption Committee at the ICC should be asking some serious questions :)

Tendulkar trying to speed up towards his hundred. He is thinking of getting it before another wicket falls...

Tendy needs to bat for the next 2 days to heroically save India from an ignominious defeat here.

Even a 100 won't save India from defeat here...they at least need 150 from SRT and 100 from DHoni and even lower order need to contribute...means everything need to go right for India...but i cant see that happening
