Sun is coming out so temp is increasing...Good news for india

Interesting to see rohit sharma opening inns for india here

Worst part about batting first is that with our bowling it's hard to know what score is enough.

Sharma should stick there for 10 overs! Then the world will know what kind of a player he is!

I think this opening couple is worst couple of india in recent times ...

Two new balls and games aren't as batting friendly

Not batting friendly? I somehow feel 300 is the new par score with the new rules.. 2 new balls will be a gift for the bowlers in subcontinent

If you have quality bowlers you should be able to get out teams for 200-250

Sobe should bowl 10 straight, he'll be useless afterwards.

Not really. the 4 fielders outside rule will test bowlers
You can only really exploit it after you survive the new ball but if you lose your top order before then its lights out. Fortunately for India they have a world class player in :msd to get them to 220-300 when it does happen.

Some very elegant shots being played. Rather satisfied with the openers so far, they're up against tough short pitch bowling, so far so good. :)

Tough bowling out there! Or rather our batsmen are not really used to it

SA really don't have a better bowler than Tsotsobe?

South Africa need wickets. If India can survive another 5-6 overs and get around 20 runs in the process, they will be on track for a good score.

Looks like Amla and AB will have to play a masterclass today.

Seems like Rohit will be the new opener for india in ODI's maybe they were wasting him in middle order.

Like always blunt but honest view from Aakash here

Don't think it really matters - you should pick your best XI and then worry about batting positions.

And anyway, Sachin, Sehwag, Amla etc would all have been considered 'part time openers' when they first started in that role and they didn't turn out too bad.
