All 3 of his tall test capped pacers (Tremlett, Finn & Broad) are injured, Meaker and Woakes have hardly played for the EPP so putting them in as a second seamer would be a brave/stupid idea and Onions is a medium pacer who needs the clouds to follow him to do anything.

Quite a fascinating day that. India were calling all the shots until the last hour of the day. Dhoni and Kohli batted with a lot of determination for the better part of the day. Kohli could not convert his 100 into a big one. India were still looking well set with Dhoni batting calmly but his run out in the fag end of the day turned the complexion of the game around. With 4 wickets in the last hour, England will now entertain hopes of taking a lead. Ashwin did put on a valuable stand with Ishant and Ojha in the previous game. Can he do it again?
