What's new

India vs New Zealand | Semi Final 1, World Cup | Old Trafford | 10th Jul, 2019 | India Innings

Santner into 6th over and gone for only 5 runs, what the hell?

Amazing restraint from Pandya. He used to be like Pant hacking every ball

I honestly don't know how this is happening :))

I would be filthy if I was an Indian fan, they were overwhelming favorites to win. Absolutely devastating.

#GayaHind

Dhoni has only himself to blame for India's flight home and the inevitable effigy-burnings.

LOL this is not IPL somebody tells these Indian young cricketers. What was pandiya thinking?

Okay, going back to sleep... might as well get some rest.

Well played NZ.
Aman congratulations.

NZ just win the WC for Kane Willy. Please. He is my favorite non-Pakistani player.

Can never forget what he did for Peshawar kids too.

One of my favourites also. His calmness and in the polite way he speaks is just exemplary

I remember Indians saying Babar's innings was nothing special because Santner is a poor bowler.

Talk Nah!

You can’t find a flawless career. Maybe only McGrath, but not Richards, Williamson, Ponting, Waugh etc. Kohli has done more than enough outside World Cup knockouts to be regarded as an ODI GOAT. World Cup performances enhance a career but they don’t make or break them. Tendulkar failed in two World Cup Finals but it didn’t hurt his legacy.

Williamson and Waugh aren’t in Kohli’s class in ODIs anyway.

If we talk about players not batsmen thn Starc as mentioned by Aman did more for his team success at the biggest stage thn Kohli.

Dhoni the one that costed India the match today, not taking the responsibility. Ridiculous really!

Like I said, Dhoni, Raina and Yuvraj were still to come and the angry troll was batting like it was his bridge. Kohli's 35 at a SR of 70 was of no consequence; if he hadn't scored that many, Raina would have. It was a nothing innings and a 35 is not considered a good score for a #4 batsman. Here is what a viewer had to say about that spectacular 35: ""Kohli is geeting bogged down and restless. I hope he doesnt lose his head," says Himanshu"". Kohli proceeded to lose his head to Dilshan of all people.

Any tail-ender could play an innings like that, much less the apparent GOAT ODI batsman.

The fact that you think any tail-ender could have played that innings in those circumstances shows your understand, but I do agree with you - a tailender would be more likely than Amla in that situation anyway.

Besides, there is no guarantee that Raina, Yuvraj and Dhoni wouldn’t have failed like Sehwag and Tendulkar. At 30/2, India needed a partnership and Kohli delivered along with Gambhir.

NZ making good use of their luck. That's what you need, stepping up when it matters.

Still can't believe what I'm seeing.

Our first good game of the tournament :)))

Congratulations NZ.
You have proven every fan, commentator, analyst,ex player and every soul on Earth wrong. This was supposed to be one sided in India's favor.
Just goes to show how well they batted on such a pitch. They deserve to win this.

Decent innings from both Pant and Pandya. Couple of 30s. Top order lost the game. There is no one capable of scoring a hundred in the middle order for India. That's what their hunt should be after the WC. An innings builder at 4 that can score a hundred

Nz just done a pakistan the unpredictabled...

I have said on multiple threads now after people hyped Pandya after the last IPL that playing against 3-4 quality bowlers against international side under pressure is a different proposition. Even in his best innings there is a lot of risk involved and that will obviously hamper the consistency

Lmao so my initial gut feeling of beating you at least once in the WC was right.

Told you your middle order would kill you too.

After forging a crucial partnership that provides the platform for Dhoni’s counter-attack. It was a brave innings and more valuable than many half- centuries.

Very brave. A SR of 70 conveys courage, yes. Continue. :mv

India are themselves responsible for this middle order muddle. Why do you drop shreyas iyer after just 6 odis two 2-3 years ago. What wrong did ambati rayudu do they dropped him just before the WC. They have been guiltly of making too many changes.
I presume under Kohli they have a record of playing 20+ test matches in row with at least one change in each match. Thats a record for any team.
