After ups and down in the test match, india now in the driving seat with just 2 wickets down and a lead of 112

Beautiful googly by Tahir to get Vijay out. He played for the turn, it didn't, and got the outside edge and a great catch

Stats would say India is in driving seat.

But now is the make or break time.

All 2 inings, a big partnership ensues and its broken around 100 which leads to floodgates opening up.

We will have to wait and watch if India will weather the storm or lose 4-5 wickets down.

This is the MOST CRUCIAL moment of the game.

Its still spinning, a few of them sharply, Tahir is ripping the leg breaks & googlies. Vijay & Pujara have played spin well & reading Tahir easily. Pujara is using his feet well.

Harmer is a little consistent with his line & length & Elgar was smashed everytime he came on. So, wasnt given bigger spells.

*inconsistent

Rabada to Kohli, no run, close! This is a loose attempt to drive from Kohli, that one just misses the outside edge. Rabada pushed this one wide and almost caught his fish

Why Kohli?

Why?

Why is Kohli so insecure about his batting these days. His fear of failing is consuming him

A very important 50 from ChePu, need to convert this into a big 100 if he can.

Yeah, Game is still open and even if 300 runs to chase i will still give SA a chance as they have superman AB devilliers in their side :)

19 runs partnership so far between kohli and pujara. SA now desperately need couple of wickets in quick succession

No non Asian team has ever chased more than 276 in Asia

No one knows bro.

No one knows.

After Anderson saga, he never has been the same.

Been called wrist slitter for it. I really don't want to say like that about Kohli but everything tells me something's not right with the dude.

Its an average passage that players go through (still averages good even when not looking that good). Hopefully he comes back to his old self.

We have to be patient.

England was patient with Cook who had far worse performance. Maybe its just a phase.

So they cannot chase it even after 30 years???

Even before 276 ... in Further past, stats would have shown that Non asian team doesnt score 200 runs to win a test match but then it changed to 276 so it can change to 300 now ?

its just a stats

SA fans will be counting on AB devilliers ... if he would have not been playing then 200 might be enough to win the game.

Can we just call him 'Che' :D

Che looks a little more bad ass than ChePu, which sounds like the guy who would be the geek in the class with very well oiled hair.

If they can't even score 200 in the first dig, thers s no way theyre gonna chase 300+. Our bowlers will skittle them out.

Also despite the relative lack of form, Che still averages 50 in test cricket :D. Love this guy and his batting when in full flow

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I miss the cocky brash and confident attitude of Kohli. He's lost that completely. The Anderson saga deraled him a bit but he had a great outing in Aus. I think the SF in the WC dented his confidence even more.
Yea I agree. Cook bounced back really well considering his slump. Cook got rejuvinated once he gave up ODIs. Maybe Kohli is putting too much pressure on himself in all formats. He needs to take a temporary break from one format I think

Massive batting failures from both sides in their first digs. Its a 300+ pitch for the firs 2 innings.

I know it will be tough .... thats why i said in my first post that india is in the driving seat.

Just expecting a heroic or miraculous innings from AB thats it, otherwise india is winning dont worry :)

Another 100 runs on the lead and India will win this test and have a 1-0 series lead to take into rest of the series.

Don't mind 4 bowlers IF the pitch is bowling friendly. We simply underbowled 1 pacer here. Plus Kohli can't waste overs needlessly.

Your team seems about right though I don't like Rohit in our test team.

The thing is we need one extra batsmen in our team to provide some extra cushion.
I'm not saying Rohit will be a collapse stopper but with him in the side it just gives our top and middle order a bit more freedom to play.

Yup.

No point with Umesh and Aaron on pitches with little for them.

They no Philander to get shape.

India do not need 2 fast bowler on such tracks.. Whoever made the decision is an idiot..India need 130 plus more 2morrow and will win.

This should be saha's last series. If he performs he should get 2 more series otherwise we will have to look for another option.

SA batting on paper looks weak anyway

They only have Faf/AB/Amla

and Philander is at 6 too

Where is JP?.

India are looking good

Pathetic pitch prepared by the Indians..their fear of losing is unbelievable

JP is injured, and that has cost them bit time. Batting is too thin. Will have to drop Harmer or Tahir for the next match and bring back JP... or if he is still injured then Bavuma. Can not play only 5 batsman, specially in unfamiliar conditions.

These two need to bat as long as possible. India have got all the time in this test match to stretch the lead. You can never count out an AB or an Amla special in the 2nd innings.

Does Amla really doesn't trust Tahir at all?Van zyl bowling ahead of him today

No special coming , SA batted poorly in first innings , that is where they lost the game.

should have selected De Kock. Though he might have struggled too but at least he has some experience of playing on these tracks plus he would be playing against his fave team India.

Right now batting looks very thin.

Get spin from the both ends now. Runs may come but if you don't take wickets then match is gone.

Phew got one wicket. Let's get 2-3 quick one here.

Another 100 runs and this game will be beyond South Africa I think.

Well, I don't expect less than 100 runs from here on with 7 wickets in hands but getting 150-170 will totally kill the game. Nothing will be left.

Get Tahir on now. Indians may play a bit slow for few overs.

India's morning session is going similar to SA's morning session, yesterday
