"Jasprit Bumrah is a baby bowler in front of me and I could have easily dominated him" : Abdul Razzaq

Bumrah is playing in an era where most batters seem to be technically compromised. Pampered T20 hacks. Easy pickings for Bumrah.

Had he been playing in 90's or 2000's, I think he would've been just another Javagal Srinath.

I think Abdul Razzaq probably would've smashed Bumrah 7 out of 10 times. Not Just Abdul Razzaq but many other 90's batters probably.

I don't know man. In the 90s they didnt have people talking about the importance of attacking a bowler. You would need to time travel to tell batsman how bumrahs only weakness is to score runs against him.

So bumrah Cummins and rabada would struggle in bowling friendly 90s era?

Technically correct batsmen in 90s struggled on mostly spicy wickets.

In post 2004 ish era pitches got flat but reverse swing was always there.you don't think modern big 3 of Cummins bumrah and rabada would do well?

I mean Philander averaged 22

Guess he is better than all 3 then

Abdul Razzak as a hitter is over-rated. His legend was due to that one knock against SA which was brilliant considering the circumstance. But again SA has two decent bowlers in that line up who were Tsotsobe and Morkel, both of them were not hit. The rest of the bowling comprised of Charl Langeveldt (Who has a decent ODI record), Botha, A Morkel, Peterson etc but still I give that knock to them. But initially in his career he was mostly a circumspect batter who blocked a lot and was not a hitter. Even that much hyped 5 boundaries vs McGrath, he ended up scoring just run a ball which was useless knock in the end. I think the break up of his innings was 20 of 5 balls and the other 20 of 33 balls. Yes he was a good hitter but his SR of 81 suggests that he did not do that often. Anyone who is a consistent hitter will have a SR of 90+ at least. An average of 29 and SR of 81 makes him an average batter. As a bowler he was good at the early stage of his career where he was genuinely threatening in ODIs but declined in the latter stages.

I feel Azhar Mahmood was a better batter than Razzak ever was but just under achieved. Scoring Test century in SA against Donald, Pollock, Klusener and Kallis isn't a joke. yeah razzak might have smashed a few knocks later in his career but he is overrated as a batter. He was never a consistent hitter like Lance klusener who was a great white ball all-rounder because he averaged 41 at a SR of 90 and a bowling average of 29. Razzak wasn't, the narrative that he is some sort of tormentor of good bowlers was built due to his 109 against SA and those 5 boundaries vs McGrath.

Abdur Razzaq running his mouth, would be quite embarrassing if he were to face Bumrah (assuming both in their primes)..

We cannot say anything for sure who would have dominated but this kind of statement should not be given any importance. And this statement is also pretty old so things must have changed since he said that.
