I think this guy JL Denly has played for England, Right?

ye he has was a big failure im sure he has played against pak too

39-4 ! No problem with our bowling thats for sure, just gotta watch out for the batsmen.

Gulla hit for 2 fours in a row

and btw in cricinfo Joe Denly's nickname is No pants

Denly is pretty classy, should've got a longer run for England I thought.

Wahab Riaz should be brought in :afridi

denly has a moderate track record in first class matches and seems like he is curently midling da ball quite gud..so getin him out is da real test for da pakistan quickies

He was awful, he was there to get their innings off to a flyer but he wasn't good enough to do so, and then England discovered Kieswetter and Lumb which left denly really down the pecking order.

Good start for Pak on the other hand :)

5 penalty runs most probably first Kamran involvement in the game. :))

7 runs from wahab's first over and 5 penalty runs
don't you know he's a better test match bowler then Gul eventhough he still has to make his debut.

How do you know those 5 were penalty runs?

Could have been over-throws, No?

check the full scorecard.

On another note Afridi may have just decided to chomp on a ball again and got 5 runs penalty for ball tampering :inzi

That seems like a good reason.

Ball must have hit the helmet behind Akmal hence 5 pentalty runs...Can't think of any other reason...

or was someone trying to catch it with their cap or some one might be trying to bite the ball

:afridi

Denly has played against us and only good batsman in the kent side ..except azhar mahmood.. and he is playing our bowling lineup with ease... look at the SR

Good to see Aamer gaining some early form on tour!

its a decent enough bowling performance.... now rest of the bowlers should chip in with wickets ... and bowled them out within 200 ..

Rehman can take wicket or 2 .. lower middle order and tail

Pakistan’s new ball bowlers showed their class in steamy, swinging
conditions at St Lawrence to reduce Kent to 95 for four by the lunch break
on Tuesday.
Heavy, early morning rain led to a 30-minute delay for the mopping up
work and also increased humidity levels, leaving Umer Gul and
Mohammad Amir to exploit conditions wonderfully well as Kent replied to
the Pakistan total of 360.
After a reasonably promising start that saw both Joe Denly and night
watchman Matt Coles hit confidence-boosting boundaries, Kent lost four
wickets for two runs in the space of 14 balls.
The collapse started when Coles (12) pushed inside the line of an in-
swinger from left-arm quick bowler Mohammad Amir to lose his off
stump and make it 31 for one.
Two balls later Chris Piesley, on his first-class debut, went without scoring
after he pushed at an Amir off-cutter to edge to slip where Salman Butt
took a sharp, low catch to his left.
In the next over Alex Blake, playing late and only half forward to an in-
ducker from Umer Gul, squeezed one through the gate of bat and pad to
lose his off stump and go for a fourth ball duck.
Then James Hockley lasted only five deliveries before he shouldered arms
to a full-length Amir in-swinger that moved back in to the right-hander to
hit the base of off stump.
With the hardness going off the ball Kent ’s fifth wicket pairing of Denly
(54*) and James Goodman (22*), who is also making his first-class debut,
rode their luck somewhat to post a 50 stand in 76 balls for the fifth wicket.
Just before the interval Denly reached his half-century in fortunate manner.
Driving hard at one from Wahab Riaz he edged just over the head of
Salman Butt at first slip, who appeared to lose it in the background, for a
four to third man that posted a 60-ball 50 with eight boundaries.

Are you reading that Xoib? Aamer's got two wickets with inswinging deliveries to right handers. :aamir

damn! eight boundries in dat 50 run partnership..dats pretty gud for a kent weakend side playin against gul and aamir who are da frontline bowlers for da frst eleven choice :O

hopefully its a sign of things to come as I mentioned before if he can mix his natural away swingers with an incoming ball then the sky is his limit.

Ins't Aamer bowling inswingers since the NZ tour ? I think he is.

But as far as I see it, he still is inexperienced in mixing them up effectively.

Scorecard at the end of day could be Kent -350 for 6
Salman Butt Dropped two catches.:D

Wahab Riaz seems to be struggling, also worth noting he had a very poor season still cant believe they have not taken Asad Ali the guy is an ideal one change bowler.

looks like aamer is gaining form in these conditions hopefully he can rattle england an australia
