Narendra Modi : Mega Discussion Thread

Does this loser even know how much did Swami Vivekananda use to detest the likes of him?

He knows. Have you noticed how you will never see BJP leaders referencing Vivekananda. It's like they know the appeal he has pan-India and his role in the revival of pride in Hinduism and yet, they also know he would have probably kicked them out of his sight had they turned up claiming to be proud Hindus.

This below was one of the funniest moments from the G20 for me.

Modi forced to be devout and humble while visiting Gandhi's Rajghat, because sadly for him, Gandhi remains the biggest icon associated with India.

Considering Modi will do anything to curry favor with the West, he was forced to try and cling on to Gandhi's shoulders, like a little mouse. Hilarious :rp

Wishing the Happiest 73rd Birthday to our beloved Prime Minister Modi ji

Modiji,
Tum jiyo hazaro saaal,
Saal ke din hon pachaas hazaar
Happy Birthday to you!

You have made Bharat proud.
1.4 billion Bharatiyas look up to you today. Thanks for reviving our nationalism and pride.

Can’t believe he’s already 73!! :(

Sad but true that his active years are now limited. It’s already a tribute to his extreme fitness level that he’s going strong.

Expecting another great term from him and then a sad retirement which leave the nation in tears.

Don't worry. You can worship his eventual successor Amit Shah who is still young. He is not much different from the cult leader.

What a bday gift from Mohammed Siraj for Modi ji today with his 6fer in the Asia cup final.

Symbolic of the growing acceptance of Modiji among the good Muslims of Bharat.

We all
Love you just the same .

No such thing as good and bad muslims in India. They'll all collectively good with a few rotten apples. But then again such rotten apples exist in every religion or community within our country.

Absolutely! There are bad apples in every religion and community. Not good to generalise a religion or community based on some rotten apples.

I always look at the positives bro.
It’s very common to say something like that when something good happens on a birthday. But vice versa we never do.

How Modi's BJP seeks Muslim vote in India's 2024 election

NEW DELHI, Nov 10 (Reuters) - Nafis Ansari, a school principal who is Muslim, was enlisted this year by the ruling Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as a "Modi Mitr", or friend of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The resident of the central state of Madhya Pradesh promotes the party to neighbours and relatives at events such as weddings and tea sessions at friends' homes. He speaks about how the BJP's welfare policies benefit all communities, and talks up India's status as a rising global power under Modi.

Ansari is one of more than 25,000 Muslims who is volunteering to help Modi win a third term in elections due by May, BJP officials told Reuters. The party looks for community leaders like educators, entrepreneurs, clerics and retired government employees willing to "objectively" assess Modi, said Jamal Siddiqui, head of the BJP's minorities unit.

Reuters interviewed five Modi Mitrs and six BJP officials responsible for election strategy, who said the party hopes to use its economic record and its plans to introduce religion-agnostic laws on inheritance and gender rights to win over underprivileged Muslim voters, including women, in 65 key seats.

Specifics of the BJP's Muslim outreach strategy, such as the messaging it is using to target voters in these seats, have not been previously reported.

The campaign is part of a larger push to woo India's 200 million Muslims, with whom the BJP and Modi have a long and fraught history.

Muslims and rights groups allege some BJP members and affiliates have promoted anti-Islamic hate speech and violent vigilantism, targeted non-profits run by other religions with regulatory action, and demolished Muslim-owned properties.

"deep-rooted" but only makes headlines now because political rivals use it to target the party when it holds power, said senior BJP leader Syed Zafar Islam, who is Muslim.

The prime minister leads in the polls, but a newly unified opposition alliance and a recent loss in a key state election have left party leaders worried about an anti-incumbent vote and fearful the BJP has maximised support in its Hindu nationalist base, analysts and opposition leaders said.

"Until you know us, you won't recognise us. Until you recognise us, (we) won't become friends," said Siddiqui of the party's Muslim outreach.

ECONOMY-FIRST AND MUSLIM VOTERS
The BJP's website states that secularism in India has become "minority appeasement ... at the cost of majority". Some analysts say the party has politicised faultlines between Hindus and Muslims to such an extent that Modi's cabinet doesn't have a single Muslim minister.

The party sporadically sought Muslim support in past regional polls, but this national campaign is the first and most widespread of its kind, according to Siddiqui and Hilal Ahmed, an expert on Muslim politics at the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, a Delhi-based think tank.

The BJP, which won about 9% of the Muslim vote in the past two national elections, is targeting between 16% and 17% next year, said Yasser Jilani, spokesperson for its minorities unit.

Two officials told Reuters the BJP is focused on 65 seats in the 543-member lower house of parliament that have a Muslim voter population of at least 30%, roughly double their share of the national population. They shared details of internal party strategy on condition of anonymity.

The BJP currently holds about two dozen of the seats, according to party officials, who declined to provide specific details on the exact seats being targeted.

Modi Mitr outreach focuses on spreading the BJP's economic message especially to "Pasmanda" Muslims, an Urdu term for marginalised members that make up a majority of that religious community.

Ansari, who is Pasmanda, talks to Muslim friends and neighbours at gatherings about new programmes such as a 1,250 rupee ($15) monthly handout for underprivileged women from BJP-run state authorities and a 150,000 rupee housing subsidy launched by the central government.

"BJP's welfare schemes are helping everyone, including Muslims," he said.

Ujir Hossain, a Modi Mitr businessman in West Bengal, also spreads an economy-focused message when he visits his neighbour Mohammed Qasim's grocery shop. Hossain said he was attracted to the BJP because there is a "sky and earth difference" between Modi's accomplishments and those of the previous centre-left government.

"Of course, Muslims don't like Modi's party but Hossain Dada tells us at least we should listen to what BJP has to offer too," said Qasim, using a Bengali honorific for "elder brother".

"The BJP has never respected and addressed the concerns of this section of society and instead marginalized them systematically," said K.C. Venugopal, a senior lawmaker with the opposition Congress party that held power immediately before Modi.

Asked about the allegations of minority appeasement, he said that Congress doesn't pursue a strategy of divide and rule: "Elections should be fought on economic and development issues not on the basis of religion and identity."

BJP leaders such as Islam, a former India head of Deutsche bank, said the opposition has taken Muslim votes for granted and neglected their welfare.

"We have a long way to go, the gap is too steep but it's getting bridged," he said.

Among Muslim women, the BJP promotes its pledge to reform personal laws. Supporters of the plan, including some Muslim women's rights groups, say it will end religious practices on marriage age, polygamy and inheritance that are discriminatory toward women.

"You can criticise BJP for a lot of other things but I don't think anyone apart from this government has the willingness to reform personal laws," said Amana Begam Ansari, a female Pasmanda writer and political analyst, who is not related to Nafis Ansari.

"EXTREMISTS EVERYWHERE'
Violent clashes between Hindus and Muslims have become less frequent since the BJP took power, according to government data, but tensions remain high. In government, the BJP has frequently used enforcement powers to try and prevent inter-communal tensions from spilling into outright violence due to concerns about its law-and-order message and India's international reputation, some analysts say.

Many Muslims say they live in fear of Hindu activists emboldened by the BJP's politics of cultural nationalism, according to community leaders and foreign researchers. Critics consider such nationalism a euphemism for Hindu supremacy.

Opposition leaders and analysts such as Ahmed, the politics expert, said the BJP is likely to make gains with Muslims next year unless it is countered by the opposition.

The BJP has a dual strategy of "demonising Muslims" for its hardline base and wooing sections of the Muslim population, said Ahmed.

"The demonisation of Muslim men will continue but a soft corner will be shown to Muslim women," he said. "Similarly ... (there will be) some positivity shown to Pasmandas."

Ghanshyam Tiwari, spokesperson of the opposition Samajwadi Party, which has a large Muslim base, said the BJP's position as the ruling party gives it the ability to make policies that can win over some Muslims.

"But no matter what BJP does, it doesn't change its core colours, core elements, which remain an anti-Muslim, anti-minority approach," Tiwari said.

Ansari, the Modi Mitr educator, said the BJP should control extremist activists who "ruin" its image but still backs the party.

"There are extremists everywhere," he said.

Modi is a seasoned politician and he knows how to make sure that his party once again win the election.

Conservative Muslim men might not allow many Muslim to vote fearing how they might vote for BJP.

Modern Muslim women who don’t care about personal laws will probably not vote for BJP.

BJP will be targeting the conservative Muslim women vote here.

There is good chance they will not have majority this time.

Modi is a seasoned politician and he knows how to make sure that his party once again win the election.
His party and organisation are seasoned aka RSS.

Congress is a mess, only hope are the regional parties and their reach.

That girl above, in case anyone thought otherwise, had a list of complaints about Modi that she wanted to draw maximum attention to, since no one would ever let her meet the guy who never gives a press conference.

I guess the gesture was nice albeit poorly timed and for some political points. The video of this interaction especially with Rohit and Kohli was super cringe in my opinion, It's like when your parents call you to speak to an uncle on facetime. Too many long pauses and awkward smiles as clearly it is the last thing Virat and Rohit want to be doing at that moment.

'Panauti': Rahul Gandhi Takes Dig At PM Modi After India's World Cup Loss To Australia, BJP Hits Back

NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday took a veiled dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and blamed him for India's heartbreaking loss to Australia in the World Cup final.

Addressing an election rally in Rajasthan's Balotra, Rahul suggested that India lost the match in Ahmedabad because PM Modi was in attendance.

During the rally, somebody in the crowd yelled "panauti", which means unlucky or a bad omen. In response, Rahul grinned and said: "Haan ... panauti, panauti ... acha bhala waha pe humare ladke World Cup jeet jaate, waha pe panauti harwa diya. TV wale ye nahi kahenge magar janta jaanti hai (Our boys were easily going to win the World Cup but the 'bad omen' made us lose. The media won't point this out but people know).

Congress always fearing PM Modiji…they always compare Modiji’s every move with upcoming election… As a Country Head Modiji went to Indian dressing room and consoled them… nothing wrong in it

It is objectionable if Modiji visited Indian dressing room before the match

There were many came forward to take credit of winning Indian team, but there is only one who went to console Indian players is Modiji

Rahul Gandhi is giving them the taste of their own medicine now. #Panauti is trending. Not a congress supporter but loving this. :inti
Narendra Modi increased BJP Loksabha seats from 60 to 350 in last 10 years

In contrast congress was having 400 Loksabha seats when Rahul joined congress… now congress reduced to 40

Now tell me who is Panauti?

Lol at least get your facts correct.

So Rahul joined Congress when he was 14 years old? Because Congress had 405 LS seats in 1984!

And when was the last time sanghis had ~ 60 LS seats? Cue they had 89 seats in 1989 LS elections. At that time, feku was a nobody and he didn't have anything to do with their rise to forming government at center. That credit goes to Vajpayee and Advani.

Modi ji is an inspiration. Just one more term, and we will have an entire generation who would have seen only one PM. Unlike our time, where PMs used to change every other year.

India is lucky to have him.

The friendship he built with America. Over the years, Indian people will understand the slow poison he injected into the rapidly growing economy of India.

We'd have got to see so many other daring shows on Indian polity and other relevant issues had this despot not been there! Alas, that was not to be!

Good to see. One filmmaker's individual rights are nothing over the rights of the majority. Finally India is growing out of the tyranny of the few elite, and masses voice is being heard. And we have only started.

Religion is a very important part of Indian society and targetting religious practices for sake of entertainment isn't acceptable here.

Anyone doing business in any society must adjust as per that society rather than expecting the society to adjust as per the business.

EC issues notice to Congress' Rahul Gandhi for 'panauti', pickpocket remarks targeting PM Modi

Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was issued a show-cause notice by the Election Commission (EC) on Thursday for allegedly targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi through his remarks wherein he used the words panauti and pickpocket.

Gandhi was asked to respond by Saturday night.

The former Congress president was the target of an appeal by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which claimed that the former's use of language was "unbecoming" of a high-ranking official.

"The remarks of Kharge and Gandhi, who are indulging in spreading a web of lies and are habitual offenders, call for initiating criminal proceedings against these offenders and strict action as they have no respect for moral values in their conduct and even for the electoral laws as well as the Model Code of Conduct guidelines," the party said in its memorandum to the EC.

Gandhi was reminded by the EC that it is against the Model Code of Conduct for leaders to level unfounded accusations against their political opponents.

The prime minister was the subject of the Congress leader's remarks during recent rallies in Rajasthan, which is about to go to polls. On Gandhi's 'panauti' barb at Modi, Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah Shah said abusive words have been used against the PM and the public will respond to it during voting.

A Hindi slang, panauti loosely refers to someone who brings bad luck.

The BJP also referred to the former Congress president's 'pickpocket' dig at Modi during a poll speech in Madhya Pradesh on November 22 in which he alleged the prime minister diverts people's attention while industrialist Gautam Adani picks people's pockets. This is how pickpockets operate, he had alleged.

He made "wild allegations and spoke in a derisive and obnoxious manner" about Modi, the ruling party told EC.

Gandhi made the remarks during speeches as PM Modi had attended the ICC ODI World Cup final which India lost to Australia after 10 consecutive wins in the tournament.

The BJP in its submission to the EC said, "We request the Election Commission to intervene urgently by taking appropriate legal action against Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi for their continued fraudulent, baseless, and abusive practice and to pass a prohibitory order against them," the BJP delegation said in its communication to the EC.

Strange antics by BJP/allies.

Why in the world would you harm your biggest asset. You just let Puppu run his mouth and do everything stupid, and you know he will keep digging a bigger hole for Congress every day when he wakes up in the morning.

BJP should just leave diapers alone and let him do the hard yards for them, every time he opens his mouth BJP gets more votes...

PM Modi said that BJP's hattrick of wins in assembly elections has guaranteed hattrick of wins in Lok Sabha elections.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that the assembly election results are a win for ‘Aatmanirbharta’ and ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas’.

Addressing jubilant party workers at the BJP headquarters in the national capital, he said, “Today's victory in assembly elections is historic and unprecedented. It is the victory of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' and self-reliant India”.

In an apparent attack on the caste census push by the Opposition parties, Prime Minister Modi claimed that “several attempts were made to divide country on caste lines.” He reiterated that women, youth, poor and farmers are the only castes in the country and their empowerment would further strengthen the country.

"But, I kept on saying that for me four castes are supreme – and they are women power, youth, farmers, and the poor. The country will be strengthened if these four will be empowered," he said.

The Bharatiya Janata Party registered a decisive victory in the heartland states, routing the rival Congress party in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. It also improved its tally in the southern state of Telangana where it has had limited presence.

Prime Minister Modi said the incumbent parties were thrown out of power in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana “because it was against the youth and had scams in its tenure.”

Referring to the wins in three states, the prime minister asserted that the “hattrick of victories” has guaranteed BJP's hattrick of wins for the Lok Sabha elections.

“The voter needs a well-defined roadmap to improve his lifestyle...India's voter knows that when India moves forward then the state moves forward and the life of every family improves. So, the voter is choosing the BJP continuously,” he said.

BJP stalwart LK Advani conferred with Bharat Ratna, announces PM Modi

Lal Krishna Advani, the BJP leader who catapulted the party into national reckoning with his Rath Yatra for Ayodhya's Ram Temple in the early 1990s, has been conferred with the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to him on Saturday and conveyed the news to him.

"I am very happy to share that Shri LK Advani Ji will be conferred the Bharat Ratna. I also spoke to him and congratulated him on being conferred this honour," PM Modi wrote on X.

PM Modi, while announcing the honour for the veteran, said LK Advani's role in the development of India is monumental. He called him one of the most respected statesmen of India.

"One of the most respected statesmen of our times, his contribution to the development of India is monumental. His is a life that started from working at the grassroots to serving the nation as our Deputy Prime Minister. He distinguished himself as our Home Minister and I&B Minister as well. His Parliamentary interventions have always been exemplary, full of rich insights," he added.

Kashmiris to stage protests against Modi’s visit to Jammu

MUZAFFARABAD: Kashmiri activists would hold an anti-India demonstration in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) capital to register their protest against the scheduled visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to occupied Jammu amid tight security cover.

“Since India’s savage machinery has been brazenly stifling all voices of dissent through the worst ever coercive measures, we, who breathe in free air on this side of the divide, will represent the sentiments of the entire Kashmiri nation by condemning the visit of killer Modi at a demonstration in Muzaffarabad,” said Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, chief of Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir (PHJK) in a conversation with a group of mediapersons on Monday.

Mr Ghazali said Mr Modi’s second visit to the occupied Jammu after scrapping the special status of the internationally acknowledged disputed region in August 2019 was not meant for development of the occupied state as claimed by him, but a portent of another spell of deaths and destruction.

“The so-called development in occupied Jammu and Kashmir is nothing but a farce to hoodwink the international community and can never win over the Kashmiris who have been constantly witnessing their loved ones killed, injured, arrested, harassed and humiliated at the hands of India’s occupational machinery,” he said.

He said since 2015 the fascist BJP regime under Mr Modi had arrested as many as 43,000 innocent Kashmiris to crush the revolutionary anti-India movement in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, apart from martyring more than 2,500 and maiming and injuring over 30,000 Kashmiris.

The most painful of all crimes against the Kashmiris were attacks on their women which they used as weapons of war despite condemnations from different parts of the world, he said.

“In fact, Mr Modi is the biggest terrorist on this globe like that of his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu, because his hands are stained with the blood of Indian Muslims as well as the Kashmiris since long and the visit of such a person to the occupied territory is bound to be greeted with hatred by the subjugated Kashmiris,” Mr Ghazali said.

He pointed out that while there was no let-up in machinations to bring about demographic changes in occupied Jammu and Kashmir through issuance of illegal domicile certificates to Indian citizens, notorious Indian agencies like NIA and SIA were encroaching on state and private lands and properties of bona-fide state subjects were also being demolished or seized to subdue the Kashmiris and render them a minority in their own land.

Ironically, the Indian judiciary had also been aiding and abetting the war crimes perpetrated by the Indian government and its institutionsin occupied Jammu and Kashmirwith impunity, he added.

Mr Ghazali warned India to keep in mind that Kashmiri people would not give up their heroic movement against its unlawful military occupation of their motherland.

‘Needed It’: Farooq Abdullah Lauds PM Modi For Launching Electric Train In Kashmir Valley

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday flagged off the first electric train in the Kashmir valley and the train service between Sangaldan station and Baramulla station, the move drew praise from National Conference Chief Farooq Abdullah who expressed his thanks to Prime Minister Modi.

"...We needed it. It is important for our tourism and people. This is a big step that has been taken today. I congratulate the Railway Ministry, PM Modi for this..." said National Conference Chief Farooq Abdullah.

"With the rail connecting us it solves lot of problems that would occur due to the road service, it also helps in the transport and supply of goods and services. I hope this service will bring progress to our people. We had hoped that this service would happen in 2007 but there were many difficulties due to the terrain but they have overcome this and now this service will start" the former JK CM added.

Upon his arrival at Maulana Azad Stadium, Jammu, PM Modi also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth over Rs 32,000 crore.

The Prime Minister also officially opened the IIT Jammu complex. The academic complex has 52 labs, 104 faculty offices and 27 lecture halls. The campus has hostel facilities for around 1,450 students. More than 1,400 students have been registered in various programmes currently.

PM Modi also inaugurated 20 new buildings for Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) and 13 new Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVs) across the country. These newly constructed KVs and NVs buildings will play an important role in meeting the educational needs of students across the country.

The projects that are dedicated to the nation include the permanent campuses of IIT Bhilai, IIT Tirupati, IIT Jammu, IIITDM Kurnool; Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) - a pioneer skill training institute on advanced technologies - located in Kanpur; and two campuses of Central Sanskrit University - in Devprayag (Uttarakhand) and Agartala (Tripura).

The total worth of all these educational projects, which were dedicated by Prime Minister Modi, amounts to Rs 13,375 crore.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also inaugurate the campus of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Jammu on Tuesday.

Modi is ameer ul momineen of the Hindus.

I hope to see him doing Puja on Mars one day.

These are starting to look like Kim Jong Un videos.

Valid point 😀

Haha! I recognise it's election season and he's got to try some stunts but that one seriously gave me the creeps!

My dear brothers, in the Hindu epics and the Puranas, ancient Dvaraka Nagri is a place where Lord Krishna lived after defeating his uncle Kansha at Mathura. Then after Mahabharata battle, Lord Gandhari gave curse to Krishna and it is believed to be the reason this entire city got submerged under the water. Her exact curse were - “If my years of Shiv Bhakti have been true, and if I have been true to my husband, then, may you die in 36 years from today. May Dwaraka be flooded and may every one of your Yadava kin perish by killing each other, just as you made the kins of Kuru kill one another. May the Yadavas die out…. may the Yadavas die out….” All of her curse later came to be true.

The excavations carried out during 1979 in the Dwarkadhish Temple Complex revealed underwater ancient city and three temple remains. So Modi ji is visiting the ancient submerged pilgrimage place to do puja. You guys must appreciate.

Appreciate your beliefs man but even if you're a big BJP supporter, you've got to accept the dude looks like something out of a cartoon show in that getup and that the way that video was shot does him no favours.

Modi ji does underwater Puja in Dwaraka

No man. Just no. :apology

He looks old and feeble here, propped up by others. Seems to be trying too hard to match the youthful vigor of Rahulg who walked from one tip of India to another - a physical effort that is peerless in modern India. And a few months later, is on another yatra from East to West. I understand the Godi media and bhakts like to pretend that none of this happened or dismiss it with comments like - great, let him take part in a marathon.

But looks like Rahulg, like always, really gets under Modi's skin lol. Modi tried some scuba diving in Lakshadweep which was terrible, but this just looks hopeless. He looks exhausted when they remove that helmet.

No. Just no. Don't even try.

Khangressis and slaves of Italian dynasty can dream all they want.. Modi is winning the next one.
After that hopefully Yogi takes us into 2030s.
In all honesty BJP and allies may cross 400 seats.

If PM Modi gets a 3rd run, I feel CAA most likely may be implemented in full force. This should slow down the illegal Bangladeshis coming in under the blessings of another king pin fraud ammayi Mamata Banerjee..

The stock market will tank if BJP loses. I am aiming to double my investments in a year in a few months when BJP wins.

Every investor should vote for BJP if they want their money to grow.

Do you reckon one can make a quick buck by buying up India ETFs before the election and cash out soon after?

First Electric train connection to Kashmir, Modichayan showing who the boss is....

When this was during ammayi sonya's government control the entire valley was infested with terrorism and corruption...

On a lighter note, he should have given one award to brother Mamoon as well for flying tri-colour high always 🇮🇳 :salute

Modi using IAF choppers for poll campaign: TNCC complains to EC

Pointing out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been using Indian Air Force (IAF) choppers for his election campaign as well as public meetings even after the enforcement of the model code of conduct, The Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) on Tuesday urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) to take stern action against Modi.
Talking to TOI, TNCC spokesperson P V Senthil said former Prime Minister the late Indira Gandhi was disqualified by the Election Commission of India in 1975 for using IAF choppers for election campaign.

“As per the model code of conduct, any electoral person should not use government machinery for campaigning purposes,” he stated. Pointing out that the Salem municipal corporation had withdrawn the vehicles allotted to the city mayor and deputy mayor, he said the same rule was applicable to Modi as well. Senthil also urged the ECI to explain whether the BJP was paying any rental for the IAF choppers. “If so, other party leaders should also be allowed to follow suit so that the IAF will get rental revenue.” TNN

TNCC demands ECI action on PM Modi for using IAF choppers during campaign, violating the model code. Dr. Senthil cites Indira Gandhi's disqualification for similar offense, emphasizing the prohibition of govt machinery for campaigning.

Trinamool Congress MP Saket Gokhale accused PM Narendra Modi of violating the poll code by using an Indian Air Force helicopter at an election rally in Andhra Pradesh. This raised questions about the necessity and payment for the chopper.

TNCC can quickly compile data if provided electoral bonds. BJP accused of cheating with Modi's photos on houses. Congress to contest from familiar seats.

Modi's use of chopper reminded me of this video.

Will Modi be disqualified since Indira was disqualified for a similar offense in 1975 (as per the article)?

Sorry to break the hearts of our padosis from both East and the west,

Modi and every sitting PM is exempt from the ECI rules on use of vehicles.

The Commission directs that, subject to exceptions mentioned herein, there shall be a total and absolute ban on the use of official vehicles for campaigning, electioneering, or election-related travel during elections. There shall be a total prohibition on the use of any vehicles such as helicopters, aircraft (except as regulated by the Commission's order on the subject), cars, jeeps, automobiles, boats, hovercrafts, etc., belonging to the (i) Central Government, (ii) State Government/UT Administration, (iii) Public Undertakings of the Central and State Governments, (iv) Joint Sector Undertakings of the Central and State Governments, (v) Local Bodies, (vi) Marketing Boards, (vii) Co-operative Societies, (viii) Autonomous District Councils, or any other body in which public funds, however small a portion of the total, are invested for any purpose connected with the elections, by any political party, candidate, or any other person connected with the election (except officials performing any election-related official duty).

But on page number 105 under the subheading of "Use of Aircraft / Helicopter by Political Parties", an exception has been mentioned.

It reads that "during the election process, there is a complete ban on the use of aircraft by political functionaries, including the Chief Minister and Ministers. The only exemption is for the Prime Minister in office."

All the fringe are left with is talking about campaign videos and gaffe in speech.
The desperation of the so-called 'opposition' is very evident now. They have had no strategy to counter Modi and are reduced to putting out vitriol against Modi and the BJP, and hailing RaGa as the great messiah on twitter. And even there they are getting owned by the pro-Modi brigade.
Never have I seen such a pathetic opposition in India. The real threat to Indian democracy is from the opposition and not the BJP.

This opposition was always against democracy. They shame people just because they exercised their democratic right to choose another party.

Give as many awards as you like, just don't go handing citizenships. I have suspicions that the brother is in fact a closet jihadi whose real hatred of Pakistan is because it is not fundamentalist enough. Someone like that could wreak real damage once inside your borders. :waqar
