This is the most exciting match of the tournament and this will be the final as well, unless something drastic happens.

Hopefully CP comes to their senses and push Abdullah to three atleast and get Zafar in the side.
 
For Northern, they need to realize that Rohail is a proper batsman and get him up the order.
 
Yes Zafar is back.... Hope Qasim Akram Rizwan Haider took their chances
 
Kamran should play as batsman and Haris could be played as a wicket keeper batsman. No proper planning by PCB to develop players.
 
Where is Babar Azam? He should come back. Missing his cover drives.

Saad Nasim doesn't make the team on merit and they have made him captain.

We need Babar....
 
Really good from Zafar. This QeA season should get him in the test team for the 2021 home tests. Should have been a part of the playing XI ages ago.
 
The fielding standards in this tournament has been pathetic, absolutely garbage. I'm quite miffed at cricketers still taking fielding for granted in this day and age.
 
CP bowling well, both Zeeshan and Ali are all at sea here (I think they just want to get out but cannot even succeed at that at the moment)
 
Sohaibullah looks decent but has the same problem I have seen in many recent left arm bowlers where they have a pretty wide angle of attack. That often causes problems in Test cricket since batsmen find it pretty easy to judge which balls will hit the stumps. Shaheen has had issues because of that recently.

Also looking at Sohaibullah, he clearly needs to improve his fitness.
 
This is absolutely garbage fielding today, not even backyard level. This time its Abdullah Shafique.
 
Ehsan Adil is bowling good lines, getting close to the stumps. If his pace is decent enough, then he could serve the team well in Tests. He has also done well in FC cricket recently.
 
Whenever I see Ehsan Adil, he is so much better than most we churn out. I feel he can replace Sohail Khan in future test squads as he gives same sort of variety as Sohail.

Also I feel Ehsan will offer a lot more with red ball than white.
 
Well I did say I was impressed with Zeeshan Malik in first game, but in this game he has been horrible. I don't mind the tough going I want to see more match awareness which is completely lacking.
 
i think Umar Amin has been seriously hard done .. he shld have been backed... more than the Useless Shafiq and yes-man azhar ...
 
Usman Qadir bowled well today, no surprise spinners are more effective with more flight and lower speeds.
 
I can understand Nawaz comi g before Rohail N if 1 or 2 overs left but otherwise Rohail should always bat before him. He is no Imad or Sohail K.
 
Rohail N proving the point last match and this match Nawaz wasted so many balls,coming ahead of Rohail.
 
Rohail Nazir showed his presence. He looks to have improved his stroke play and power game.
 
Can anybody explain why hasnt rohail batted at all yet and even today he comes at number 7 or 8 yet he has opened or defo one down batter

Dosti yari of senior players with captain. Nawaz has never impressed me in batting odd 6 hitter like Anwar Ali. And Sohail T..

Do you have any proof of it? Why are we so conspirational about everything. First of all majority of the batsmen are youngsters and actually a senior like Umar Amin is not opening but playing down the order. The reason Rohail played down was that he did not have the power game before which he has improved now as shown today. So now he will be given promotion. The Northern side is a serious side with Muhammad Wasim doing something that has never been done before.
Please for gods sake do not point fingers at people so easily. Remember when you point one finger at someone the rest of the fingers are pointed at you.
 
Haris with the key wicket here. Abdullah Shafique will have to build a decent partnership here.

After Shoaib Mohammad's divorce his ex wife took her kids abroad.

Shehzer grew up in the states and only moved back after to Karachi to follow the Mohammad brother's family tradition of representing Pakistan.

He is a bit excitable but that brings some energy to the game. A bit like Danny Morrison.
 
Watching Babar and Abdullah together would be as good as it was watching Babar and Haider in Eng.
 
Good shot from Rizwan Hussain. I think despite being an opener he is more at ease in the middle order, played some clutch knocks at around no 5 for CP last year.
 
How CP plays Shadab will be really important. If they can get 25+ out of him without giving him wickets they should be in good position.

Comments we make here are our opinions, we are not being cruel to anyone but we are fans and have right to call out decisions we do not like.
How can a tailender be given preference over a proper batsman like Rohail N with 6 or 5 overs remaining. Rohail even without power game would score more runs then Nawaz in that amount of balls. T20 is not just about hitting 6s, otherwise player like Asif A would be the biggest Pak player by now. Nawaz in last two games has wasted a lot of balls for someone who was promoted for hitting ability.
Mohd Wasim might not be the one who made the decision of promoting Nawaz it is most likely the captain, so no one is denying his work with Northern.

CP is definitely lacking some experience in the middle. There are naturally some nerves in younger players.
 
Northern have been doing exceptionally well till now whenever they have been in a pressure situation.
 
Irfan Khan does hit some big sixes but its the biggest stage for him after the U19 WC earlier this year.
 
Shadab K is such a key player and inspiration to his team. Always gets wickets at critical juncture.
 
Shot by Irfan Khan. On a side note good to see Zafar guiding him, looks like a really good team player.
 
Glad Musa has put on consistent performances......together with Rauf and Hasnain he will be key for Pak LOI future
 
Gone. Abid and Nasim created too much pressure and left it all for youngsters to handle. 36 off 33 and 14 off 15 is unacceptable in T20s on any surface.

Zafar should have been the captain for CP in the absence of Babar in my opinion.

Agreed. IPL have been overdoing it on few occasions and cant get variations right which they try to produce based upon what I saw in initially.
 
The reason Northern is dominant compared to other teams is simply due to fielding.

Northern is head and shoulders above all the other teams when it comes to fielding. This is the difference in most of their games.
 
Rauf has been too quick for most of CP batsmen. Shafique was the only one who looked comfortable.

Agreed. I also think Shadab, Musa and especially Rauf have been exceptional till now under pressure. Probably all of them bowling close to their best. Shadab's captaincy, tactics and team handling of Mohammad Wasim has been really impressive too.
 
Top 3 of Northern didnt click today, they are not playing Amir, are without Imad Wasim and they still won the match pretty comfortably.
 
Matches have been pretty one sided and boring so far.

Is it me or were those games with the Faysal Bank T20 format more entertaining? Sialkot Stallions, Lahore Lions, Rawalpindi Rams, Karachi Dolphins and Faisalabad Wolves used to produce some thrillers.

Peshawar Panthers were beaters as well in the last few editions.

That was far more entertaining people had association with teams and PCB ruined its own brand 3-4 years ago.City based t20 is way to go rather than provincial.

Yes, yesterday was the first time I tuned into a match. I found the crowd noise was very natural and also varies from time to time. I don't know how it is in the IPL but in England series etc it was a constant hum and this is definitely better.

really unbelievable the kind of lineup with reserves they have when Amir/Imad not even in the side...not sure if it was purely PCB that did selections or the team coaches/captains, but perhaps they should have allocated Amir/Imad to CP or some other team.

most likely finalists will be Northern and KP.
 
Bowling has improved drastically after first match bowlers like Md Ashar. Shadab...Musa Rauf...Saheen all doing well....Zafar did well too...
Batsmen need to catch up......
