New Zealand (344/9) defeat Pakistan (271) by 73 runs in the first ODI to lead the 3-match series 1-0

Darryl was so confident he didn't knick it and it ends up being out.

Does'nt the batsman usually confidently know? He was so shocked how it was out.
 
Extras only need 9 more runs to complete its half century. Pakistan's generosity never ends.
 
Niazi has been bowling at a pretty good line and length. Much better than that Ali oldie. Seems to be a thinking bowler.

It’s just so sad to see how Pakistan’s bowling has regressed over the last few years. Our bowlers used to win us matches most of the times.

The inability to take wickets (lack of strike spinners) in the middle overs is hurting Pakistan in every game.
 
Still 2 more overs of part timer to go. One of the most idiotic tactics and lineup selection I have ever seen.
 
Frankly PCT got away a lot with part time 5th bowler in recent ODIs and T20Is.

Today problem being embarrassingly exposed by NZ batters. You have to have 5 bowling options and then guys like Agha to backup
 
Glad to see Salman Agha getting thrashed. He is a 4th 5th part time bowler at best. The fact that he is being played as the main spinner in ODI Cricket tells you how badniyat this team management is and the PCB chairman who sticks by them.

Unless we have a strike spinner in middle overs, this will keep happening.
 
This is crazy! NZ have gotten so manyy lucky boundaries. The size of square boundaries is a joke

We don’t play our regular spinners, then cry about not doing well in the middle overs.

Even if Sufiyan Muqeem or Abrar get hit for 100 in his 10 overs, they should be playing every game.

To expect Salman Agha to complete ten complete overs is a dumb decision.
 
I was absolutely sure nobody would catch this ball and sure enough Naseem grasses it
 
Wow pak fielding is day by day getting atrocious. They are trying for the catches with open arms as though they are begging. Irfan laughing after dropping a catch seems to be the worse than naseems drop.Does pak have fielding coach ?
 
Got zero optimism Pakistan will chase this. Likely our batters will find a way to be bounced out and Babar will make 25 runs or so before gifting a wicket to Bracewell.
