New Zealand Cricket has today announced the team to play Pakistan is a three day match in Whangarei.

Speaking on behalf of the Selection Panel Glenn Turner said: “We have selected an experienced side with the core of the team from the New Zealand Test squad.

“This match will provide good preparation, especially for the likes of Tim McIntosh, Daniel Vettori, Chris Martin and Brendon McCullum who haven’t played cricket in a while.

“Trent Boult is a young bowler with considerable promise and he gets another chance to impress at a higher level.

“We will add another bowler to the team when the Auckland Aces and Central Stags sides are confirmed for the HRV Cup final.”

Both teams have agreed to use 12 players in the match that starts on 2 January at Cobham Oval in Whangarei.

Fairly strong team they've lined up.
