england getting schooled, how wrong i was when i said nz looked outclassed during the last test

England are awful. Wow. It's a flat pitch!

Oh well, at least that spineless Bairstow was clearly shown up.

I'm sure we all expected Bell out early (pressure situation lol), but England's lower middle order is looking surprisingly bad here. Prior will look to counter attack soon I guess.

England not only digging their own grave, they even brought their own tools. So kind of them. Thanks!

Prior is so underrated. So many times England have been in trouble and he's saved them.

England choking themselves with this run rate, expect pressure to contribute wickets after lunch.

Bairstow is average, and new. Root is overhyped.

Missing KP here.

And Cook should be ashamed of going early, he was needed. Compo has been fine till today, so no worries on him.

England playing pace like a sub-continental team.

Averaged 28 in the first two games on flat tracks. Doubt he would have done anything here.

KP doesn't care about averages. He has four failures and then a massive 180 out of nowhere. He literally pulls such knocks out of his donkey.

england missing kp big time here....hobbits look like winning dis one.....

True but logic suggests that KP would have been dismissed cheaply over here too.

Wonderful. That's 25 more runs than the Yorkshireman Bairstow has done.

He got just one inning, didn't he? You're being too harsh on the guy, he was pretty good against South Africa.

One good game against SA and suddenly he's stellar. Let's not remember the failures against the Windies at home.

I really don't like Bairstow.

Compo - hoped for more from him today, but he might still make it three tones in three matches and dig us out

Bell - bottle job, didn't expect anything from him

Root - can see him and Prior digging in for a long while

Bairstow - no tests since September, no match practice

Bell is awful and has been for a long time.

Compo has proven to be capable, I'm fine with him. Root better dig in, he's been terrible this series. Bairstow is not someone I'd want to count on with my back to the wall. Trott/Compo/Cook better dig in the second go around. And Prior needs to show us why he is the true backbone of our team.

Shocking performance from England. Did not expect this at all.

They can only save this Test now, but at this stage seems remote.

Credit to NZ though. They have fought quite well throughout the series.

Southee to Prior, no run, edged and dropped, full enough to make Prior drive, edge goes low to Brownlie at second slip, and he spills it, Southee can't believe it, hands on head in disappointment

:rondu

I really have been impressed with Southee and Boult.
Very good prospects for the future both of them bowl at a good pace and swing the ball and also they have shown that they can pick up wickets on Flat Pitches.
NZ have a really good batch of new cricketers.

NZ Should look to end this England innings quickly in about 10 to 20 overs.

Your pace attack isn't as good as some make it out to be and monty isn't that good either.

It's a flat pitch. Our bowlers underperformed, but our batsmen must be the one to pay. 62-5 is not acceptable on this pitch.

There is some swing, but it's still not something that should rip apart a #2's top order.

Ugh, Prior is playing shots, but it's nerve wracking. Always within a chance of a wicket when he's out there.

Who is their left arm spinner. He isn't half bad. Flights it and gets good drift Vettori style

How gun is Prior, another counter attacking 50, all the runs in this partnership are from his bat

Bruce Martin.

Old, but pretty decent.

Admittedly we've mad him look good this series, but he is the wicket leader.

root's batting is what you'd get if you had misbah strung out on sedatives and horse tranquilizer.... honestly...... what is this..............

England have a short tail, they can still avoid the follow on if they get through this new ball. Will need to show grit to draw the game from here.

Boult gets 4.
Excellent captaincy by McCullum.
Has been excellent throughout this series.
