Come back to reality dear. We have not shifted to SSC all of a sudden.

I am just stating Indian bowling's consistency. They did the same in last innings when the ball was new and then NZ was all over them.

I think it's safe to say that the Hobbits should scrape to at least 100 at this stage. Stranger things have happened but they have their best batsman at the crease and all Watling has to do is rotate the strike.

Good field set, Watling needs to open up.

Boult up the order to pinch hit.

Someone will become a hero from this innings.

Taylor, Watling, Ish or maybe ever Southee? :13:

Indians bowled badly in 1st inns, no way should they have conceded 500 on this pitch. They seem to have learnt their lesson in this innings, so I can't see NZ posting 200 let alone a 200 runs partnership.

This is where India loses the plot.

Ball is old and soft. Perfect conditions for batting.

Who will take wickets for India?

We've thrown wickets away this innings i.e. McCullum

Indian's have been more aggressive in the field and have held catches.

Even if they don't pick up wickets it's imperative that they don't let kiwis off the hook like they did in 1st innings by dishing up poor deliveries.

Yeah but I've heard Shami is bowling very well this inns; better than he bowled in the first. Also they are not leaking boundaries frequently.

We should clone a few Shami's for the second test and unleashed them on these Kiwi's #BCCIgettowork

Wicket is a beaut to bat on, there's some turn for Jadeja but gun barrel straight stuff from Ishant

Test of character here, if we want to be a top side we need to take the lead to 500 and bat India out.

Pitch is dead now.

India should have got a couple more wickets with the new ball. They do not have the talent to take wickets with a soft ball.

Need to send in a pinch hitter next, field is up... easy runs over the top...

What use is Jadeja if he can't even pick one wicket, especially after seamers have run through the top order.

If we're going to lose wickets lose them to Ishant and Zaheer boys

Watling is so short on confidence

He's batting like Shafiq..

Either pitch is dying or Ishant is bowling trundlerbolts either way too many nicks falling shorts #MightyIshant

You need Watling to do a Haddin and Taylor to do a Clarke and put on big runs for the 6th wicket. That would destroy India's fledgling confidence which would have been Macca's plans in the first place. Nothing will frustrate India more than being unable to get the one wicket that will open up the tail.

Ball is losing its shine I think. It's not really the wicket IMO, the wicket doesn't become lively and dead and lively again and dead again all in the space of one day. It's the humidity and the shine on the ball along with a little bit of movement that has always been there. All the wickets falling in clusters except India's this morning were with the new ball. It's the mindset batsmen from both teams have that the ball is going to seam around which is creating all the poor shots. What you see is batsmen that are starting to get set and bowlers that are starting to lose a bit of discipline with their lines. It's too easy to blame it all on the wicket.

Taylor cuts and probably not the best decision with the slips there. Out for 41

Wohoo Zaheer got the wicket, doing a great number for 2nd test :))

Enzed will scrape to 100 and it will be an interesting near world record chase for India of about 400 in about 2 days. You'd have to back the Hobbits but if there's a batting lineup other than SA that you would say has the pedigree to do it (in the subcontinent at least) it's India.

It was a rubbish ball.

Short and wide.

India will take it.

Yes but in the context of the game probably not the best shot. But I take your point, you need to put the bad balls away. Fabulous catch.

Important wicket for India have to get the tail out quickly to truly benefit from all the good work they have done #beautofacatch

Zak has been a great bowler for India and probably one of the best India has produced.

But he needs to retire after this match. He has nothing left to offer.

BCCI, please felicitate Zak and send him to retirement.

Watling needs to play with some intent tuk tuking will not help NZ at the end.

He is trying for maidens. Not looking to take wickets.

Terrible attitude from him.

Shouldn't play with attitude like this. Medium bowlers do in the first place and now spinners following them too. Not the way to win tests.
