7/617 McCullum just smashing them now, declaration is coming. Hopefully they get their second highest ever score first.

I think they will wait to declare till McCullum is there at least.

Without Dhoni's leadership, our team is a bag of wuss !! I don't know how to explain it, he has a magical presence on the field for us. I was so darn disappointed when I found out that he'll miss this match.

India doesn't look too threatening without Dhoni. It seems they look without a plan or tactic, and also little bit less of self-confidence.

It's kind of hard to explain the importance of his presence for India.

India up against it. The Hobbits can't lose the match now I reckon, not with a 200, a 150 and a 100 on that scorecard and with Sehwag out and no Dhoni.

Well that was Afridisque from Sehwag .Thats how he plays, still expected a little more control from him. He seemed angry and frustrated of tiring two days .

the greatest batsmen in the world afraid to take the crease for a few overs ?

If Dhoni was the captain, he wouldn't have sent out a night watchman I think. He would have sent in the proper number 3. He rather walk out himself and face the overs then send out a night watchman.

There you go, another day passed and I still did not learn the importance of night watchman. :asif

I think Vettori is on to something here .. use spin early against Sehwag and Ghambir !

He is a smart customer. Even the fast bowlers were bowling to Sehwag with a plan and not giving him too much space to hit. Vettori knew Sehwag will go after him and was bowling very smartly...

India up against it now. If they want to win the game they will need Tendy and Dravid to score quickly and get 1000 in 2 days.

If Teendu falls quick tomorrow NZ will win by an innings :P

Poor start by india and some pretty lose shot plays. India have plenty of batting in locker and the wickets still pretty flat. Vettori is the key for the kiwis here.

Vettori here is doing very good tactics here. Brought himself and Patel on got both openers out.

well well we have a game on our hands. Time to show what your made of old pros! I have no doubt you guys will bail us out.

Onus is on our senior batsmen .I wouldn't be surprised if India loses this one.Too complacent and too many errors from all .Sehwag played poorly as well as Gambhir. No excuses.

Inshallah.

2 of the worst shots I have ever seen by Sehwag and Gambhir - no idea what they were thinking. They obviously werent thinking about the match situation were they.

These sloggers only know how to play one way dont they :)

I think the kiwi bowlers need to try and fustrate indian batsmenb by drying up the runs as most of them like to score freely and that cause a few more rash shots!

That's what happens when you've been in the field chasing leather for 2 days and the other team has posted 600-odd. Clearly they were trying to chase 600 in a day. Like Sehwag - out for 34 off 25 was really what the team needed close to stumps.

sehwag always plays one way and at times he will flop, but if he had stuck around india would have got runs quickly.

Day 3 about to start Kiwis need a few early wickets to cause india more problems!

Dravid and Sachin have started off postively so far today!

Vettori bowling a little to short and flat so far, needs to give ball more air!

I dont understand why some of you have been so critical on GG & Sehwag ....they are bound to fail once in a while ,with the amount of shots they play when the ball is doing the most ...when it comes off they invariably put us in a winning position & they have been doing it consistently , else both of them wouldnt be averaging above 50

Yes calling them sloggers is little over the top. sloggers cannot have average 50 in test cricket. not even possible in domestic cricket.

brilliant batting from Tendulkar !

now Dravid hits another boundary , runs starting to flow

well played Tendulkar but lazy shot! Anyways let's hope Dravid and Lax can do it again.

Tendulkar was a bit too aggresive against Patel, lost his wickets whilst well set and they have problems here.

Dravid now required for a big score.

India have pretty much gifted all their wickets away so far. Ton needed from dravid!

that was probabaly the shot for the day from laxman !

now plays an even better ondrive with the spin !
