Pakistan [428 & 134/1] beat Northamptonshire [259 & 301] by nine wickets in tour match

Good win in the end. Pleased the batsmen spent time in the middle and got a big total up after getting bundled out for 168 vs Kent. Imam has jumped ahead of Aslam in the opening pecking order.

Biggest concern is conceding a total of 560 runs against a Div 2 county team - the pacers namely Amir and Ashraf were toothless. We need to adjust our length for English conditions and stop bowling looseners every over or so.

Also disappointed neither Azhar or Sarfraz was able to get a score.

So what'll be our team structure ? Our flaky batting means I'm inclined to play a four man attack with six batsmen; Ashraf didn't do much in this game in either department anyway.

Good that Imam took his chances on tour really well.

I quite liked the look of Imam when he turned out for Pakistan in an ODI recently even though he failed. I think there's a player there.

He'll be up against a different class of bowling in the test matches, don't expect him to be getting huge scores. I don't think he lacks for hunger, he just might struggle with the step up in class.

I am happy with the way the top order performed during the chase but bowling against Kent and Northamptonshire was a huge disappointment. Hopefully Pakistan will do better against England and Ireland.
