Pakistan collapse to 190 all out at stumps on Day 2, set South Africa target of 149 to win

sarfraz should leave test cricket with immediate effect if he has any shame left. And take Asad with him

When Sarfraz scored his 90-odd in the UAE last month he set a Test world record for playing a shot at the most consecutive deliveries.

I wrote at the time that that makes him an accident waiting to happen in South Africa.

He just isn’t selectable with his batting in this state.

But worse still, we have seen as I also warned that Yasir Shah is also a liability as a bowler in South Africa. And that Hasan Ali is so short that he bleeds runs.

Which should have led to a return to Shadab at 7 and Faheem at 8. How much better Pakistan would look right now!

But that requires Sarfraz to bat at 6, whereas currently he should be down at 9 or 10.

Sarfraz is awful. He has no reason to be in the Test team. Bring back Rizwan, he's been in good form.

A typical Amir innings of square cuts and drives coupled with edges over slips is required. Just hope they dont bowl at his stumps.

He (Sarfaraz) should ideally not be in the XI.

World cup around the corner and captain is delivering ducks and losing matches.

Saify kaptaan played that shot as if we needed 4 to win off 1 ball. Just wanted to connect anyhow

Problem is few good matches and individual performances hide Sarfraz's performances and captaincy.

Why is Amir batting at #8? He is not an all-rounder in any sense of imagination.

Hasan Ali is better and should bat higher.

They are showing technical failure in Sarfraz batting
You can’t get so low here this works in Asia not here
Then stupidity to flash the wide ball
Basically not cut for theee conditions at test level

Except my point remains: at least 4 of the Top Seven always fail, so you need the lower-middle order to make enough runs to set a target.

Sarfraz worries me: we are now in Mike Denness territory where the horrible decision to drop the skipper needs to be taken.

I wondered whether this series would finish FAF’s career, but I feared for the wrong captain.....

Sarfraz is safe - going by PP reaction from Bhakht (it's a South Asian term - gross translation is fanatics), I am sure PCB won't touch him for the fear of Karachi dominated media back lash. What might happen is he'll get "injured", so that PCB doesn't need to sack him before WC.

Mike Denness dropped himself out of 5th Test, then came back on 6th one to score 188 (though ab sense of DK/Thommo helped), and ENG won by innings, very next Test, another 180+ and another innings win ......... don't see that happening for Sarfraz to be honest.

And, don't see the other part as well ........... Denness stepped down after returning home - that's personal pride of a professional sports man, you don't expect that from everyone.

50 more and I think we'll have a game. Impressed by Shan looks like he went back to domestic and improved.

If Haris returns next match, I'd drop Fakhar, open with Masood and Imam and play Haris at 6 with Babar at 5.

I think we should stick with Azhar and Asad at 3 and 4 despite poor test for them as we need to commit to trying to making that senior partnership like YK and Misbah. And I don't want us to resort to hiding Asad down the order again, he needs to step up or get out.

Sarfraz's batting was especially a disgrace, you need to at least try and support your set batsman at the other side if you can't do much, some of the tailenders are showing better defensive technique/application.

Amir has a better defence whereas Hasan Ali's is terrible although he is a better boundary hitter.

Rubbish commentary from haysman.. he says Amir is looking to give slip catch practice.. someone just fire this guy

Everything about Sarfraz stinks. His attitude on the field and disgraceful batting

There needs to be more pressure from back home on the board to remove him as captain

Pitch is terrible. 200 would have been a very good target but Pakistan would be lucky with 130 now

This pitch is acting up boys. Balls keeping low, taking off from a length and jagging around. Our lads need to somehow gather 50 odd runs, and South Africa will have a game on their hands.

Even Karachi media criticizes him now a days. Unless a miracle happens or PCB is afraid of the world cup around the corner then they might retain Sarfaraz.

Amir, Hasan, Yasir and Shaheen need to work on their batting as well.

They all scared of the ball when they're on strike.

Rabada and Steyn are better off than them.

The sad thing is that another 50 runs might have been enough.

If Pakistan somehow could have reached 200, they had a chance on a wicket with variable bounce.

Maybe time for Sarfraz to hang his boots. Maybe offer captaincy to Azhar Ali again. He was not a great captain but he is the most experienced batsman in the Test side and at the moment, the only one with experience and someone who also deserves a place.

After many years of playing Test cricket, Asad Shafiq has still not developed consistency. He is not a match winner and crumbles too often in pressure situations.

Still think something close to 170 would certainly make it 50-50. That is, if we get there.

Pakistan has 116 runs lead here. SA needs to keep it around 140.

Olivier can't believe his luck for making a comeback to the test team and picking up 10 wickets and potentially 2 5fers in the game.

Why did shan expose tail so early in over

Truely stupid move.

Inns will be over shortly.

With Philander back in the next match I just don't see this batting line up performing in the other matches

It will be collapse after collapse

2 more needs to be taken quickly. Lots of runs already on this uneven bounce pitch. It's getting worse.
