Babar will be as bad as Azhar if not worse as a captain. He is too timid, defensive, yes man and scare to take any risk.

So since 2017, Rohit Sharma has SR of 73 in 1-10 overs. Despite knowing he takes his time its still pretty surprising.
Indias tactic is to preserve their wickets for the last 10 overs. If Rohit played his natural game, those numbers would be different.
With Pakistan it is clearly a lack of ability.
So some people want Babar replaced? He is the best man for the job. Shadab should concentrate on his own game before becoming captain. We saw how ended with Sarfraz when he was made captain, the same could happen with Rizwan. Other than that there are no other choices. Let's just get behind Babar. Some captains grow into the role. Look at Jason Holder , everyone thought he wasn't a captain and now he is a top class leader.
We are a poor side who won't start beating the big 3 because someone else is captain. As long as Babar is performing, maximising his resources, and winning the games he is supposed to we should stick by him. I would like to see him improve his English as the media will want to hear from and the universal language for cricket is English. So it would be nice for him to be able to express himself and articulate himself properly rather than hearing the typical textbook sayings for a Pakistan cricketer.
@Tittan24, is Haider Ali an opener?
Not enough runs but I hope Imam gets a hundred. Yes its against Zimbabwe but the guy is 22 years old and a hundred matters

I don't understand the inclusion of Abid Ali, he brings absolutely nothing to the side.
I am waiting until he gets out to start watching. Just like in Tests where I wait for Azhar Ali to get out.Abid Ali can't even time the ball against this attack. What do you think is going to happen when he faces Rabada, Boult, Cummins,Starc, etc?
Iftekhar a 5for, now what is needed is a 150 opening pair, and possibly a 85* from Abid - not sure if this game is doing much good to PAK cricket. Obviously a win is a win & the game is played in PAK, but wrong player performing against substandard team always comes with a risk. Iftekhar is almost certain now for 2023 WC plan as Hafeez is retired from ODI game & Malik hardly bowls these days.
More importantly, these people do not understand a crucial thing. If Babar is vilified and taken down so easily after handing the captaincy so early, not only it will affect Babar mentally but what msg it will be thrown to other people who wants to idolize Babar. Rather they would idolize an avg player who can stick to good captaincy.
For the sake of Pakistan's cricket, Babar must be given all benefits, showing that if you are this much talented and hard-working, all your shortcomings could be ignored by the authority. That's how Sachin Tendulkar was created, who was not a great captain, but BCCI used to accomodate and provide all kinds of benefit to him, as well as promote him aggresively everywhere. As a result, an entire generation idolize him and try to imitate him in batting and his hard-working, in order to achieve as much success as he had got.
Yes he is naturally an opener since his younger and U19 days. Though he has adapted to other numbers surprisingly well since PSL because of his ability to change gears.
Look at that awful fielding. Certain posters on here were talking about the quality of cricket being high LOL.
IPL is on if you wanna watch high quality cricket
Who is showing this game in UK?
Babar in. Thought they would send Haider in.
Don't think it's a bad decision. Kill the game so Haider can come in and play without any pressure.

You want players to be tested under pressure. That's how you learn about them. But this situation is not a pressure one anyway.
Agree with you on testing players under pressure but it's better to get him comfortable with the idea of playing international cricket before throwing him in the deep. A debutant will always be under some pressure regardless of the opposition and game situation.
There was no risk in sending him out now. The game is dead. He has been in and around the squad, he has also played T20s for us. Was worth the risk.
I think they are trying to wrap up the series before giving chances to youngsters..
