Pakistan end Day 1 of the 1st Test on 33/4 after bowling out South Africa for 220

This is a perfect pitch for us at home..just because we are rubbish. You seen the pitches in srilanka spinning like snakes. We are just awful i am afraid
 
Lol Home advantage my ***. SA did well to score 200 plus on this wicket knowing their superior fast bowling and our inferior batting line up

Lack of common sense is deep rooted. Wrong team selection, defensive mentality, wrong analysis of the pitch. Add to that lack of talent and may I present to you the new Bangladesh of this era.

Babar is not as good as most experts feel he is, he hasn't done enough yet to be mentioned with Kohli, Williamson, Smith, Root.

Sadly he is the best batsman we have in the team right now hence why he looks the best in a bad bunch. Have never seen him come good in a high pressure situation barring that NZ wc game in the 2019 ODI WC and even then people will say that the target was at best par
 
People wanted dust bowl as if we have Salim Malik, Inzamam and Younis batting lol.

Despite being 200x more talented i fear that Babar is in the same league as Asad Shafiq when it comes to mental strength. He's been around long enough to seize the game by the horns when neccesary but i rarely seem to remember him saving Pakistan out of tight spots anytime in his career.

SA bowlers took first four overs to see how the movement was. Then went straight at stumps and our batsmen had no answer.

For that you need brains, and that's the we have least among all teams, it's the primary reason, lack of natural talent is second.

Think it’s simpler. He’s one of the few batsmen from the subcontinent who do not pick spin (variations) well out of the hand generally.

Relies on playing the ball mostly on the length (too full or too short is good, anything else hope for the best) to commit to it.

On top of that he’s not one for playing ‘ugly innings’. He’s only used to playing fluently and anything else is almost counterproductive.

Yeah he seems to not read the hand of spinners . Usually sub continent batsman are good at that.
 
Not to panic. 2-3 wickets were expected to go down by end of the day. Azhar, Fawad, Rizwan and Faheem can take the score to 200. Have faith. This is just Day 1.
 
33/4 - Close of play.

15 wickets in day and batting quality has been poor.

If we scrap 150 from here it will be a miracle on day 2

Agree with your general point, but that delivery was just a natural variation off the surface.
 
The best thing among India Pak current situation is that our historic record advantage in test vs India would be buried in Mariana trench, imagine this lot vs Ash ans Jadu, Bloodbath written all over it.

Even 200 might not be enough as Pak has to bat last
 
You cannot adopt the Misbah UAE blockathan attritional UAE batting approach against quality bowling attacks like SA. Trust me, they have the discipline and patience to bowl a 100 consecutive maidens at you if you let them. Some of the batsmen will need to take initiative and really put away the minor bad delivery just like Fawad did, Azhar Ali will let go of even the hit me balls, that is why the opposition don't really have much respect or regard for him.

People were asking for dustbowls in another thread. Do not know how you can go for those when your captain and best player has a visible deficiency.

Unless there is some miracle

It is safe to say RIP pakistan cricket , definently the sport has turned into our hockey team.

We are minnow level team , should keep the expectations low as possible now.
 
Questionable tactics by Azhar. Why take a single of the first ball and expose Shaheen for 5 balls? Azhar was supposed to face majority of the remaining overs.

Bigger question is why did the team management send the night watchman against a superior bowling line up. Very weak defensive move
 
Nightwatchman is supposed to protect the main batsmen at the end not the other way round as some are thinking as there would be no point of nightwatchman if batsman has to protect him.
