Pakistan end Day 2 of the 1st Test on 308/8 with a lead of 88

All my support for him over the last decade paid off. Alhamdulillah.i don't know why I love him.

This guy has his limitations but his temperament is great and he's not just a serial choker like Asad.

Yep even Inzi doesn’t have a 100 against SA in tests. This was no Mickey Mouse 100, love the sixes as well

I can only suspect Fawad upset someone very senior in the PCB ranks because it just does not make sense why he wasn't given more opportunities in the last 10 years.

I recall having heard something on those lines somewhere ..

Some people even said he has attitude problem..
 
Faheem looking really good. Last two shots through the off side were pure class.

That Azhar Ali test against NZ for sure.. I still find it hard to believe that we lost that test ..
 
Brilliant century from Fawad Alam. Why has this guy not been in the squad for so long? Hope he continues to score in all countries.

Faheem and Rizwan have improved so much. So good to see. Just need our openers and lower order to score more.
 
Good to see Fawad perform. Sends a message that you need to grind it out. Put a price on your wicket.
 
Just tuned in. Amazing well deserved century. He has conpletely demoralised the south africans. They are dropping catches, taking the new ball 5 overs late, bowling maharaj with the new ball, letting feheem score runs for fun.
 
Players who can play their shots are pretty handy at no 7 to push the agenda and to counter attack. Faheem has been doing the job decently till now at that number.
 
South Africa putting on a Pakistan-esque performance today to let Pakistan of the hook. I feared the worst waking up this morning but have been pleasantly surprised with the proceedings.
 
We need Ravi Shastri to comment on Faheem:

Faheem has completely knocked the stuffing out of this attack, wouldn't mind a few overs at them before the days done, hopefully 80-100 run lead by then .

Will be first to admit I hated pre-Moyo Faheem. He didn't repay the investment in him.

Post-Moyo Faheem has been a joy to watch.
 
Faheem 2.0 batting is a big upgrade on Faheem 1.0

Faheem 2.0 bowling is a huge downgrade on Faheem 1.0

CricViz reporting more variable bounce in PAK's innings than SAF's. It's just been much better application from the batsmen to be honest.

Easily. Had Pakistan batted first, this game would have been very painful for SA if Pakistan had won the toss. Neither SA's batting nor their bowling have been very impressive.

In ODIs playing in last few overs is a pretty difficult task for someone who needs some balls to settle in. Faheem can hit the ball but, he isnt someone who can start hitting from the word go and that is something Pak management and fans expected as his average in teens in list A also indicates. His FC stats were always better and more assuring but, yes he can definitely improve his white ball skills further.
 
I am liking Faheem 2.0 so far.

Well done to Fawad, i didnt expect him to perform but he has done well. Good stuff.

SAF batting’s first session was the one with most consistent bounce if I am not wrong. Pak has batted extremely well today. Pitch might have slowed down even further but, inconsistency of bounce is still there.
 
Fawad gone, well played though.

Lets hope Hasan and Yasir can support Fahim here. Another 50 runs here would be vital.
 
End of a terrific innings. Get some treatment on that wrist now.
 
Pakistan need 50-60 runs from the tail here, otherwise South Africa still have a very good chance of winning.
 
Good knock from Fawad under extremely difficult circumstances. One of the better ones in recent times
 
Need Fawad and the lower order to fire here. A lead of 100 has to be the minimum when you are batting last.
 
hassan Ali and Yasir Shah should go into ODI mode try and smash a few quick runs and then have a few overs at SA tonight.

True, Faheem will be the key. Hassan is also in decent batting form but this pitch is unlike something he has played on recently.
 
Hasan Ali scored an incredible knock in the QEA Final so no mug with the bat.

Need a few clean strikes from him.
 
I think Faheem has to farm the strike against the pacers, Hasan is capable of taking on the spinners.
