Match situation:

South Africa are 135/5 (37.0 Ovs) and lead by 212 runs

A seemingly irrecoverable position for Pakistan could be made worse if SA are allowed to bat beyond Lunch.

So what are the options for Sarfaraz?

Attack and potentially give more runs or be defensive and dry up runs?

Rock & a hard place.

Drying up runs is close to impossible on this pitch , the only way is attack and get them out as soon as possible.

Umpiring in this test series has been worse than Pakistan's performance.

And that's saying something.

That question peeved aamir but the pace is still down. He bowls a couple of 140 deliveries in every spell but he is generally 131 132 kph bowler now

Maybe try standing up to the stumps and keep the batsmen in the crease?

If it is reversing Hassan should be brought on. He can be a menace with reverse swing.

Match is out of our hands.
Even if we get them all out in the next 5-10 runs which is not happening btw,i still dont see how we can score this total.

All 3 matches ending within 3 days must be a rarity.

Shame that on this pitch where bounce can be a real weapon pakistan do not have the pace to exploit it

Buffling to see why sarfraz is not standing up on abbas bowling to restrict sa batsmen to kill late

He did this with Australian batsemn and i think this pitch and abbas pace is quite managable

I don't think this is going to end today. SAF bowlers are not gonna get enough time to bowl Pak out today.

They might declare after crossing 300 which is not far off.
And we will easily fold in 2 sessions.Max 1st session of tomorrow, not more than that.

Incredibly humilating,eitherway.

Now Amir is grunting twice every ball :amir
once while releasing and once when getting creamed for a boundary.

Pathetic display of fast bowling by Amir remind me Robin Singh of India

They have absolutely no reason to declare. We are not even half way through in this test. Still loads of time remaining. Most likely they will look for 450 , if Pak bowlers keep bowling this rubbish.

I still don't think we can stretch it for long, maximum first session tomorrow.
But let's see.

Our bog average bowlers have made the conditions look so comfortable. This is incredibly easy for the duo, they should kick themselves if they fail to score hundreds here.

Three people need to be sacked after the series.

Sarfraz , arthur and inzamam.

Azhar and asad should be dropped.

But let's see.

There is no reason for them to declare, especially with these two eying big hundreds.

They can target a massive 200+ run win here which is exactly what we deserve.

Two players (Amla and De Kock) who were horribly out of form have been brought to form by Pakistan. Expecting some royal thrashing from De Kock in the ODIs.

Agreed. However, they can declare right now and they'd still probably win by 100.

Faf as well in the last match. These guys couldn't buy runs against other teams in the last 12 months. Whic is why I think Pakistani bowling attack hasn't been effective.

Our bowling unit is like a low budget bowling machine.

Up and down at 130 kph. They probably get wickets because the batsmen are bored to death with the monotony.

Pakistan chasing 300+ would be tough. What's the highest score chased on this ground?

Bowling like this ended the test career of imran khan in australia , will it do the same to hasan ali?

De Kock is a century machine. If he gets his form and confidence back, it’s bad news for all teams.

Whats the probability of azhar and asad scoring 100s in the chase? You are now allowed to go in minus.

Worse thing that can happen for Pak here is that the two so called seniors getting good scores in the second innings albeit in a losing cause and prolonging the misery for the fans .

Shafiq might, but Azhar is the biggest fourth innings choker in this era minus the Sharjah fluke.

We might collapse very badly in second innings and our so called seniors will get away saying that no one has performed

South Africa can declare even at day 5 after lunch and we will still loose this match. Both Amla (Vai) and Kock can look forward to score triple against our mediocre bowling. Its only day 3

Amir-11 and Abbas-10 average more than Azhar this series, whose average is 8.8. So I'd say the chances of an Azhar hundred are less than the chances of Abbas and Amir scoring hundreds.

Shaheen with his extra height and pace would have been very useful here.

It will be shameful if S Africa declare today. Still has 2 more days after today. 5o overs are more than enough to get rid of our chokers

Partnership 102 in 21.2 overs.
The odi openers have done what they are good at .

A shame. Amla deserves the three figures, Hasan was lucky to hit the right spot on the pitch. Pretty unplayable delivery in the end.

Looks like another 3 day finish. The South African tail will struggle to bat long on this pitch even against this pathetic attack, and 50-60 overs should be enough for them to take 10 wickets.

This series has been utterly humiliating, and we were told that we will cause an upset because we are unpredictable and bla bla bla.
