Pakistan end Day 3 on 153/3, needing 228 to win the 3rd Test against South Africa

QdK looking good out there. Highest I've seen made in the 4th innings was 450 by SA vs India in the 2013 draw. I doubt Pakistan can make that, but they have been lucky on occasion...

Unable to watch at the moment, but isn't specialist captain producing any tactics to get rid of the tail ? His fan club told me he 1 of the best at getting the tail out . :))

Much maligned Amir has picked up 14 wickets in the series while the PP anointed best Test bowler in the world is being smashed to all corners.

I think even Pakistani fans will hope that they lose this match than have Sarfaraz score 150 and keep his place in the team.

If Sarfraz can score a match-winning 150 in the fourth innings these conditions against this attack, he can keep his place forever.

It has taken a few months for Abbas to get worked out in international cricket, but he has been taking wickets in domestic cricket for years.

This sums up the gap between our domestic cricket and international cricket.

He bowled well to be honest. He would have been even more threatening if hasan supported him well from other end..

Missed his length all series , no swing at all. Pace has been down. He has been a good economical bowler , who hasnt threatened much on a bowling paradise. Thats the reason he has been completely toothless in UAE.

I wonder what Steyn makes of Abbas now. He endorsed him on Twitter during the Australian series, but I think he must be quite unimpressed now after observing him in person.

I thought on this pitch Rabada & rest of the tail would have been easy pickings ... 116 runs for 2 wickets is poor stuff .

Rabada is putting all of our top order barring Babar and Shan to shame with his technique here.

Shahid Afridi wasn't wrong when he said "sorry no talent in Pakistan". Back then, everyone jumped on his back. But it's only downhill from here on for Pakistan. The up coming batsmen make shafiq look like Tendulkar.

Probably same thing Bumrah is thinking of Starc bowling on his home pitches.

Abbas is just coming back from injury and he's not done too shabbily to be honest.

Abbas is a one trick pony , who bowls only incutter on inswingers at a gentle medium pace. Unless he develops an outswinger , he wont be much use.

TBH I don't mind this. I hope SA don't declare. Our overrated bowling attack need to be shown their worth. Hope rabada and steyn whack a few.

This is massacre... the last guy you would want in form has ticked... South Africa now become serious contenders for world cup..

There is no shortage of talent in Pakistan but selfish seniors have not allowed them to be groomed.

Our fans are too emotional, and like to live in a bubble. There is no world class talent left in Pakistan.

Even our best batsman Babar has poor temperament and no hunger to occupy the crease for long periods.

Specialist captain not producing any genius tactics? I was told he's great tactically? :))

Welcome back. As you invited, I did watch PAK's batting yesterday; but missed you. Sudden emergency on Saturday? Everything ok at family?

Pakistanis would have already declared De Kock selfish and would be wishing he gets out

Why is Sarfraz not allowing Shadab to bowl? Why was he included in the team, if he were to bowl 6 overs in 69 overs and counting? Beats me why this guy is even our captain. Can't even set field right. Can't even rotate bowlers right. Can't even perform right.

'Specialist captain' is the highest scorer for Pakistan in the match so far and has taken 9 catches. Probably best to direct your frustration in another direction for the time being.

What's with all the Abbas hate on here? The man had one poor series. Give him some time. Geez.

It’s a myth. Almost ever youngster that comes through the system is bog average. For example, look at how Sahibzada was hyped up as our future opening star. He turned out to be associate level. There are many, many more examples.

We are not capable of producing elite talent in today’s cricket environment. Selfish seniors, corrupt selectors etc. are just excuses that we have made to hide from the reality.

These jokers will even cop a humiliation from Australia when they come down here in December.

Show some class my dear sir, you can do better. Family is fine, IA. Hope that is the same with you too:)

Yes, Pakistan batting crumbled yesterday. We were doing well until we collapsed - all too familiar. Hoping Babar can sign off the tour in grand style with a hundred and good memories back. We can win here next tour.

Not being critical of his batting though am I? And what use is his innings now may I ask ? Same PPs bigging it up are the 1s who say those type of innings are useless.

These bowlers are hardly going to play for someone who shouts at them when he doesn't make the team on merit. And throws them under the bus in press conferences.

Also I was told that I had an agenda against him when I called him out before everyone else has realised how average he is.

Yes, the achievements of Starc are comparable to the achievements of Abbas. This is the type of arrogance that our fans need to let go of.

On Topic, QDK hasn't made a Test hundred since Jan 2017. Nice job there Pakistan.

Disagree. It is very difficult for a talented individual to perform up to standards when he is surrounded by mediocre players. For example, a good bowler is nothing if not supported properly by the rest of the bowlers. Similarly, a good batsman need another decent partner to be able to play his game freely.

If you pick one or two players that are thought of as being good and surround them with the likes of Asad and Azhar they won't be able to play their natural game either and thereby probably end up failing to deliver.

When we bat, let's just try to show some fight and bat for a period of time.

Also well done to De Kock on his 100. Brilliant player.

Mamoon has been right all along in his judgement. This series has been a real eye opener for people that were chest thumping.

Surprised to learn this is QdK's 4th century...he seems to be playing since forever. That average is also under par for someone of his skill, shade under 40.

Have to admire Shaan's commitment in the field. Throughout the series.

If you think giving two three games at high end will produce world beaters then you are mistaken my friend. You need to invest in promising players for a long time to judge their capability. We discard our junior players without any connection far too quickly. India have plenty of chances to Rahul and still after so many years hoping Rahane would become world class.

Quinton's test stats are not the most flattering but he can definitely improve.. ominous signs for teams around the world

Only thing Mamoon has been saying for the past 10 or so years he's been on here is that all our players are useless and eventually when they have a bad series or a drop in form. He stands up and says "I told you so".

Its very easy to do what Mamoon does. Just downright keep saying every single player that comes through the rank is useless and if they play well, make up an excuse and wait for them to have a bad series or two.
