Pakistan reach 17/2 at Stumps on Day 1 and trail South Africa by 245 runs in the 3rd Test

This pitch is a lot easier than the first 2. Pakistan's ability to make it look like a minefield when batting shouldn't be a factor when assessing this pitch.
 
Pakistan will dearly miss Shaheen. Dropping our fastest and tallest bowler who also took the most wickets is absurd.

I disagree . Having played only 4 pacers , they will not enforce the follow-on even if they have the opportunity to do so . Hosts will regret not playing Keshav besides the 4 pacers on this flat deck .
Playing Shadab for Yasir not looking a good decision at 90/1 . I guess 450 on .
 
I just hope Imama, Azhar, Shafiq and Sarfraz gets pair in this match so Inzi will be forced to change at least 1 useless player.
 
I hope people here will realize how mediocre Pakistan's bowling is. There's not 1 good bowler in the entire Pakistan cricketing setup.

That’s different issue. Last time a J’burg, game went to day 4 because CSAF probably instructed Smith not to enforce the follow on as they would have lost 3 days gate & broadcasting money - that game should have finished in 2 days.

Yeah but that was also the 1st test. Smith wanted more time to bat and get accustomed to the Pakistani bowling attack and put them out on the field for longer and tire out their bowlers for the next two tests.

My point was batting once doesn’t mean it has to be a 3 innings game. At Cape Town, SAF effectively batted once.
 
And people expecting we will win ODI series by 4-1. S Africal will hammer us in ODI and win the series by 5-0. We will not win any match here. Even in T20 we will not win more than 1 match either. Pur team is rubbish.

Australia yes not India. Our grounds are pretty small in the main. Only a few have large boundaries but to a fault all indian grounds have pool table-esque outfields which encourages strokeplay.

a) inexperience on these pitches.

b) they have neutralized him by standing outside the crease.

c) The higher bounce means less danger of lbw and bowled which he usually targets.
 
Sarfraz for crying out loud stand up to the stumps. There isn't much variable bounce here.
 
Hasan is getting mauled.

This could actually be a Test-career ending performance, the way Amla and Markram are going.
 
Another humiliating session. Surprised there's still any interest in watching this feeble unit. Sarfraz surely will be handing in his resignation at the end of what looks like will be a short Test match.
 
I dont know why the pace of our bowlers dropped dramatically specially Aamir! Need to develop young pacers and groom them. Wahab Riaz would have been perfect choice here but bad selection lead to series loss and looking gloomy here too

Though not at the expense of Shaheen. I'll still back him in the long run as I feel he is the most threatening pacer but he keeps bowling boundary balls again and again and again....

Time to book another useless T20 tri series or "World XI" series. About the level of this mediocre bunch.
 
Faheem is in the same category as Anwar Ali, Bhatti, Tanvir etc. only Pakistani fans are capable of comparing such a third rate player with the likes of Stokes, Pandya and Curran etc.
 
Unlucky Markram. Aesthetically, it was comfortably the best innings of this series.

Pakistan need to capitalize.
 
Markram is a good batsman and deserved his 90. However, if de Bruyn makes even 30 here, Pakistani bowlers should be ashamed
 
Beauty from Abbas!

Change of strategy. Get Amir and Abbas bowling together and dry up the runs. Both these guys won't give more than 2 an over. Choke them out

Markram was making batting look so easy lol. This guy De Bruyn scores heavily in first class but looks out of his depth here.
 
I have never seen an Asian test captain so pathetic in organising the field for his spinner. Absolute train wreck with shah and worse with Shadab.

There have been some embarrassing statements from a notable fan of Faheem and the green tinted hype brigade but the one that takes the cake for me is the one about him being one of the top two bowlers for his team if he was playing for other international sides.

Faheem and any one of the trio of pace all rounderss (Curran, Pandya and Stokes) should not be discussed in the same sentence.

We will be whitewashed in every formats in South Africa and God willing may get rid of at least 2 players along with Inzi.
