Pakistan reach 17/2 at Stumps on Day 1 and trail South Africa by 245 runs in the 3rd Test

These wickets mean nothing now. The last thing we want is one of these bowlers taking a cheap 4-fer or 5-fer.

The time for taking wickets was in the first two sessions. The damage is done now, and all of them were rubbish when the team needed them to deliver.

Has anyone noticed- since tea, there has been a complete change in PAK’s bowling? 3 overs & SAF could have been 2-3 down. The clue is 58 overs old ball - PAK as a cricket nation has completely forgotten how to use new ball. Probably it time to get rid of Azhar & appoint an English pace bowling coach, who can improve the new ball bowling as a whole. Asif should be groomed as his deputy for future - he can already start at NCA with kids.
 
Hassan has been crap but he and Abbas are the best with reverse swing. Might be worth giving him a go

Abbas is as good as one gets with the new ball. I think it's more to do with the mindset than skills. Mickey must have given a nice coating during tea break and you see the results immediately.

Bangladesh cricket has never reached the height Pak cricket did reach in the past. Bangladesh cricket has definitely progressing over the last few years from being a super minnow. But Pakistan cricket team has been going downhill for a long time .They are now no 7 in the test raniking. They are no 5 in ODIs,but the way their ODI team is playing what I have seen in Asia cup they will slip down further. They don't have any superstar in their team anymore while they had plenty once upon a time. So no comparison with BD cricket, the scenario are completely different.
 
I have no idea how bavuma has scored more than ten runs in this series
 
The boys will come out hard. Shafiq has secured his place. But Azhar and imam need an innings here to secure their spot for the next two series.

Pakistan still is a better team than Bangladesh even in our worse era and Bangladesh's best era. Some of these bowls our bowlers are bowling... Bangladesh have not bowled in their lifetime...

Need to sack Mahmoud ASAP - had bowlers been remotely close to this with new ball against this SAF lineup, PAK could have been 2 down by now in their innings.
 
Reverse swing is coming to Pakistan's rescue here. Amir has been bowling the same stuff throughout the match but without any sort of movement. Reverse swing gave that movement.

Yes team is struggling but struggles are bcz of controllable factors. If you are producing 18,19 year old test cricketers, that means players are being produced. Its the mismanagement and poor captaincy. When things are controllable things can change fast.

I partially agree. Pakistan cricket hasn't got such talents of 90s but at the same time I believe that the best players in Pakistan are not in the team. Pakistan don't play their best performers of domestic cricket. If they do or did , mark my words, things will or would have improved. So this is another controllable factor, poor selection.

This is why you should at the least keep it economical if you cannot buy wickets. You can always come back in test cricket!

Hasan really messed it up for Pak. Otherwise it would have been 188-5 or something.
 
As I predicted earlier, South Africa will be all out for 300 and Pakistan will bat big and bat once. We're winning this baby!

He always does this , knows nothing about pakistan domestic cricket when asked by fellow commentators and even gets the names and ages wrong.
 
Amir will get De Kock. His style of bowling is most effective against the more attacking sorts plus the fact that he is another lefty plays to his favor

Pakistan can not afford to not get 3 more wickets in the next 10 overs , these are the best bowling conditions today
 
WTH Pommie. that is how even i would have played. Why would anyone lunge forward against short ball.
 
If South Africa can reverse it Pakistan won't be able to handle Steyn.
 
Get a short leg in for Abbas. De Kock would have been gone if one was there
