Can’t believe we were so impatient with Hamza… he deserved a long run based on his domestic stats rather than being slotted in and out randomly. Can’t treat someone who tops the charts like that.

Now he’s finding his rhythm overseas.

Hamza definitely seems to be running in and putting max effort in his last couple of overs. Getting good carry!

If Pakistan bowl out Australia under 300 with 4 trundlers…

This has been Pak's best bowling performance in Tests in Australia since the first inning rout in Sydney 2010.
On probably the spiciest pitch since Sydney 2010..

The pitches on 2016/17 were really flat as were the pitches in 2019/20 tour.

If aussies are falling like pack of cards I'm wondering how the pakistanis are going to last

Under 300 is on target here. Good job in this session by Pakistan.

Wow, was not expecting to see such great bowling this morning. Great work done so far

Always surprising to hear commentator's complimenting a Pakistan captain's tactics. Masood has had that quite a bit this series.

How much do you reckon Pakistan will score here guys?

I’m gonna say under 200

Some of the legendary Pakistan mascots are in the stands

Still no reason to not even be able to bowl out a side. The big grounds of Australia test the endurance and fitness of not just the bowler but the fielders as well. Aus are extremely good at sneaking in singles and turning ones into twos.

Two paced wicket. Pakistan will struggle on this against their gun attack
More than the up and down nature, it is the consistent seam movement that will wreak havoc. Can't see Pakistan cross 200.

Should not have let Australia cross 200 on this pitch.

I'm watching on Willow here in the US, wonder why they have Indian commentators like Shastri and Bhogle in the comm box?. Wasim is the only one from Pakistan. One can't help but notice Shastri's glee at Pakistans performance woe's, he's definitely not impartial. Listening to Harsha is like having having hot lead poured into your ears, he's just horrible and also not entirely impartial.

Agree with Mark Waugh; even though he has picked up only 1 wicket but Hasan Ali has been the most threatening and accurate bowler for Pakistan.
Was surprised when I just saw how good his Test stats are.. he might be a little underrated at this point

Pakistan’s best chance is someone stepping up and playing a fluke blinder like Sehwag would (but Sehwag is no fluke player)

Seems some people on here are doing bhangra. But let me tell you this is a 150 pitch.

Aus have got way too much already.

Lyon and Cummins are no mugs with the bat. They can easily put together a 50 partnership.

You are correct. With the cupboard being almost bare, he still is better than the current fast bowling stocks.

His downfall was brought about by his drop in pace. When he was bowling around 135 -137 kph in test cricket, he was a genuine threat due to his nagging lengths, skiddy nature and movement. It's just that the lack of pace has rendered him ineffective on flat decks. That's why he failed to create any impact in the Australia series in Pakistan.

Pak won 1 session in Perth now this session ball moving violently Pak won’t score more than 180.

Just need to win 1 session in Sydney 0-3 to Pak happy days

Why are you saying sorry to him?

When Hazlewood hits your throat, he won’t be saying sorry to you

Jamal bowling beautiful stuff here. It's not only the pitch being favourable, but we have been far more accurate and consistent compared to last game. Definitely a positive

I am not giving an excuse. Infact, just adding historical context. If anything, it tells how mediocre the fast bowling has been in Australia. On pitches with not much movement , the bowling has been completely toothless in Australia. They failed to utilise the pace and bounce on offer in Australia due to poor lengths, lack of control and pace.

Ben stokes would have declared now knowing Pak would be 2 down by lunch

Extras are nearing a half century. Currently the 2nd highest scorer in the game!

Sarfaraz in Perth: 12 byes in whole Test

Rizwan so far: 20 byes.

No screaming and crying for Rizwan because he has to be protected at all costs

Expect Pak physio to be putting in long hours in Pakistan innings. Lots of concussion checks, bruised arms/ribs coming up shortly!

Jamal is raw.

Someone tell him this isn’t street cricket.

So it should be called wides

But it wasn’t, I’ve kept hearing in the past 3 months that Rizwan has to keep in Australia….well earn your keep then!
Here you go, it was a wide for 4. Poor bowling to give 52 extras.

Half-centutry!

Sarfraz & Rizwan could be keeping back there and it wouldn't be enough to stop most of these byes.

Keep crying though, it's fun to watch.

When was Pakistan last time take 8 Wickets for less than 300 runs in Australia ( 1st innings)
Great bowling by Pakistan

What is Umar Gul doing with these players? They've given 52 extras away.

Test umpires are not stupid

If they know something is out of the reach of the keeper, they will call it wides. Otherwise, it’s byes

And it’s fair.

Really spicy pitch. Haris Rauf here would be so so threatening even with 4 over spells.

It's already a good score on this pitch. The Australian bowlers are going to be a nightmare to face here.

Umpire don't call wide based on that.

With all these extras and dropped early chance of Warner, Pakistan really had a chance to truly restrict Australia to a below par score but alas, that's what quality & experiences brings you. Australia won't be giving it away to Pakistan like that. Pakistan will need to earn every single run.
