2 out of your 3 best bowlers are injury prone. They might play a couple of series every few years if they are lucky lol.

And starc isnt anything special in tests. Siddle has a better record than him.

Looks to me you dont have many options at all.

I've seen enough shield cricket to know we have better options. Siddle's past record is about as relevant as Gillespie's- and we're not selecting Gillespie any time soon.

have you seen ours bowling lineup

you are just scared of losing and want to make sure Pakistan either draws or wins just like our team management. if Australia can chase 380 then that will take some really good batting and they deserve to win. if you think your bowling isn't good enough to bowl them out under 380 then why even bowl? let's keep batting for a draw.I don't like this defensive mentality.

Our Bowling is such awful :rahat, Australians have absolutely gifted their wickets in the first innings. I don't think they'll repeat the mistake

if AUS have lets say 100 overs, do u think they will be able to survive?

In other words, who will win this test?

How about that leftie who opened for Perth Scorchers?

Ahmad Shahzad is first Pakistan opener to hit 4 sixes in an
innings in Tests. Previously, Saeed Anwar, Shahid Afridi, Imran
Nazir had hit 3.

400 is the safe total and we should focus on that as soon as possible.

Yep, I don't mind trading 30 mins in the field in exchange for an extra 40-50 runs because it will put an Australian victory completely out of sight. It reduces the possibility of Misbah spreading the field if the Aussies get off to a great start and I'm perfectly happy letting Australia try to block out a whole day.

As long as we have enough runs on the board to keep men around the bat while the spinners operate then we should be able to bowl them out tomorrow.

I understand why Misbah is playing it safe. This pitch is flat and we have a inexperienced attack. Understandable.

People dont understand the fact that piling more runs will diminish Australian chances of chasing so their mindset will be of just surviving which results in more problems for a batting team. I am quite sure by now our spinners are better than theirs.

Bingo

Behrendorff?

Give him another shield season.

If it's Paris give him 2-3

Harris is going to bowl in a match this weekend (or next) and will be back for the second round of shield cricket (in time for the Indians).

Bird will be fit soon. Pattinson will bowl again soon and Hazlewood is in form and fit.

On the level below those four I wouldn't be surprised if Coulter-Nile will end up overtaking Siddle on the list. He has the pace that Siddle lost over the last two or three years.

And if we have Harris in the team we can afford to play Starc.

But Still Shehzad is The Upul Tharanga Of Pakistan, Because he scored a hundred against a weak Australian bowling line up in a dead pitch and there is no much cricket left in him because he is almost 24:sanga

Batting on is correct decision.

Credit to Misbah.

It is, but if they had batted with more aggression, they could have 500 by now and declare with no risk. With 9 wickets in hand this defensive batting is senseless. Have a good slog and you could have 450 in another 5/6 overs.....

Need to declare 15 mins after tea

This is a golden opportunity and we cant afford to overbat and not give ourselves enough overs to bowl the aussies out

If the aussies chase 400 and win the game well done to them but we cant waste time batting till 450 n not give our team enough overs

Surely some changes to the bowling line up for the next Test? Marsh offers nothing with the ball, that being said Aus don't have any one of quality left on the bench. Which is hilarious considering how a lot here (all non-Australians, Australians never talk up their players) were talking about Australia's fast bowling riches.

An attack of MJ, Harris, Patto, Watson and Lyon could have put pressure on the Pakistanis, but this one is a pretty substandard international attack period.

Posted this in the other thread:

Bat another ten overs, get the lead to 430+ and then declare when the new ball is due. Allowing for the innings break, Pakistan should be able to get in 14 or so overs before stumps. If they can pick up a wicket or two, then a Pakistan win is more likely than a draw.

I knew we would bat after tea.

So 1 more hour of Pakistan batting.

Number sixes hit by Ahmed Shehzad in this innings - 4 the only Pakistan opener to ever hit as many sixes

Number of times that Pakistan have lost to Australia after batting first and posting a 400+ score -0

But still have hope in Misbah to break this record :misbah

Which is crazy.

Had we been more proactive, there would have been no need to bat after tea.

Seriously.

I sometimes don't think what Pakistani think tank is thinking.

Agreed Marsh has been unimpressive. Maybe Starc could replace him?

Lo ji cramps, but why right after tea ?? was he having a coffee or something during break ??

You what? 500 by tea? :)))

Only way that was happening is if Sehwag in his prime went into beast mode

Pakistan should keep the Aussie bowlers toiling before declaring 10-15 before stumps.

Aus have no chance of batting out more than 90 overs on a turning wicket.

So Waqar probably was right.

They will keep batting till at least 450 runs.

No matter how long it takes.

They are scared of losing lol.

Misbah should have come to hit those sixes instead of Sarfraz. Sarfraz has scored fifties in last 5 innings and he has a chance to break the all time record of scoring 7 fifties in a row. Not enough time for him to score fifty now.

We have seriously one of the worst bowling attack in our history bowling here so nothing wrong in being careful.

This is smart.

Grind the Aussie bowlers into the dust.

Looks like Clarke has given up and is preserving the pacers.

Now Pak is may be waiting for YK hundred. Then they will declare.
