Pakistan hadn't won a Test series in more than 2 years and even dropped a Test to Zimbabwe. What so outlandish in thinking our side wasn't better when we had won 3 series to Pakistan's none.

I've been watching cricket since about 2006 but not as in depth till the start of English summer 2010.

That was when Azhar made his debut. Since I haven't missed a single game. Watched every ball of his career. Hope to finish like that too.

ODI cricket is not our forte at the moment...thats why we could lose if we step off the gas.

Nothing to do with NZ being good at ODIs. They are Nepal/Hong Kong level in ODIs generally.

I even seen Saj being flustered by Aman for no apparent reason even though he is one of the most sensible posters going around. The latter poster just had it coming with all the banter that was spewed before this series.

Nope. All I see is possibly the worst bowling attack Pakistan have had to face in the UAE. What NZ have achieved prior to this is not my concern. I have absolute right to comment on the tripe I've seen for about 60 overs wherein the leading pacer is bowling with the keeper up to the stumps on day 1

I never said NZ would cane Pakistan. I just said NZ would fare better than AUS and that Boult/Southee would walk into most teams. I predicted the result of this series to be 2-0 or 2-1. It could lean towards 3-0 if things go really bad.

I am Pakistani, but living in another Test cricket nation makes you a bit more neutral.
 
I do hope we see a balanced pitch for the third test. Winning on pitches like these is great, especially when we're missing several first choice bowlers but it won't improve our batsmen.

The pitches for the series against England were perfect. Every type of player could find assistance.

Many PPers are fully English who are brown due to Pakistani ancestors but still fully support Pakistan and even sometimes boo England.
Its different in other countries considering you support both, I don't really understand why English people don't even show slight appreciation for their country.

4-5 years ago, the world doesn't work like that.

Recent series should have more weight when assessing a teams current standing.

3-4 years is way too long imo, 1-2 years give you the best assessment of how teams are like currently.

South Africa, England and Sri Lanka did too. Looked much better. Johnson was more threatening than your entire bowling cast combined has been. Hope NZ improve from here-on, because one way traffic without flair players like Warner or Johnson is not much fun to watch

Results don't always reveal quality. Is Bangladesh a better team just because they've won a test in the last month and the Aussies haven't? Will we become a better side than South Africa if we clean sweep this series too?

Its not worth sticking around when you're team is getting owned, best player is not playing and prof's don't even provide practice tests.

Johnson is a different type of bowler altogether. You can't compare a bowler who hits the deck hard to a bowler who mainly likes to get movement through the air. NZ will be better next game, they have made a blunder not playing Wagner.

Boult and Southee are one of the most dangerous opening pairs in the world regardless of the results of this match. They will improve over the next 3 games. Boult and Williamson are potential future ATGs in case you didn't know.

Boult has to look like taking a wicket in non-favourable conditions first. Right now he looks as good as Sohail Tanvir honestly

Quality wise, I'd say England are still ahead of NZ and Pakistan. They'll always play quality cricket so that already gives them an edge.

In my opinion, Pakistan are the better team in the UAE/home and NZ are the better team at home. Overall I don't think there's too much of a difference between the two though I like to think that Pakistan are slightly better than NZ. However the new pace attack NZ have is quite good, better than the one that's playing for Pakistan in this test.
