What's new

Pakistan v New Zealand | 2nd Test - Day 3 | Wellington | 5/12/09

We have more than enough already. 400 will be icing on the cake. There is no way NZ will chase this unless the Pakistan bowlers suddenly start bowling pies.

The only concern I have is the weather so this mini collapse maybe a blessing in disguise.

Lol you would think new Zealand think they are favourites the way smith is bubbling

Kiwi commentators making it sound like we only have a lead of 100 or something :))).

All of a sudden the Kiwi's think they can win this. Have they forgotten 99 ao?

Yep they should cruise to 400. Mckintosh with a double I reckon. :)

Folks this wicket is not easy Pak are 200 odd for six also look at how a class player like Moyo is sruggling to score

What pathetic example's. :)) :)) :))

One was an ODI game on a dead flat pitch against an absolutely pathetic bowling attack.

the other was a wothless test match where we had already lost the series and there was no pressure to do well

Malik fans are more deluded than Afridi fans

Lol :) I agree with you mate :)

See What the Comentator is saying. There is alot of DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 400 and 500! WE NEED 500 LEAD

He is NOT struggling. You have forgotten this is how test is supposed to be played!

To be honest this is another pathetic batting performance.

Lol. Yousuf and Umar Akmal the only two batters with meaningful scores. :)) Talk about rubbing it in guys.

Thank God we have Asif, Amir and Gul.

Malik has no business to be in the test team outside of subcontinent. Considering we play in Aus and UK, he may not find space in ODIs as well. Afridi could do better.

yaar i was a big fan of :malik but now he is really going nowhere

making groups and out of form or maybe not playing so no other captain can take pakistan to victory i have no idea what kind of parchi he now have got no one can drop him

Kiwis recon they can get 400 against "this bowling attack". The same bowling attack that bundled them out for 99. Confidence or cockiness?

This is where yousaf I feel is too predictable, he will carry on playing like this until they are all out

Am I missing something?

This Kiwi commentators think they can chase 400 with ease.

The commentators exact words were 'against this (Pak) bowling attack''

Is it really gonna be that easy?

That is so true. :moyo :umarakmal :asif :aamir :gul :akmal

Umer Akmal really needs to learn sustained aggression, like Shewag. These sprints won't help Pakistan's case.

We could get cleaned up with new ball around 400 lead. Not good.

Runs are runs at the international stage, or else Tendulkar or Yousuf would not be held in such high regard if only scoring under pressure was the yardstick to judge a batsman by.

Anyhow what game has more pressure than a Pakistan v India game that too when you are in a perilous position after losing three early wickets.

And for the record, I am no Malik fan, and am merely pointing out facts.

Newzealand commentators are disgracing 400 they are thinking game has diverted towards newzealand

True. Even the Windies have made a 400+ score. When was the last time we achieved that? The start of the year? :13:

they are also forgetting the batting prowess of Kaneria.
why do people keep going on about Kaneria? He's doesn't have the varied strokeplay or the incredible batting technique of Chris Martin!

He youngster :inzi

InshaALLAH he will learn as he continues to play. He is our second best batsman after MoYo.

agree

i think we need to score 80 to 100 runs to feel secure

as they pitch has really flattened out and any score around 400 is chaseable becuz

1) there are almost 180 overs + overs from 1 day left ( 2 days)

2) wicket will not give assistance to our bowlers like it did yesterday and lot will depend on kaneria

3) we know that at big performing time kaneria usually just balk

I actually believe a good batting line-up could. Fortunately, their's is not.

It's like the Lord's wicket. Flattens out big time. Remember Aus making 450 odd batting last this summer? This seems similar (hence our batting has been pathetic again).

we are still in good position. i believe any lead over 450 will be very good cuz NZ will struggle against our bowlers :)

You are forgetting that Kaneria has the advantage in running between the wickets. Plus he is much more positive (although he does have more ducks).

Thats all well and good mate. But unfortunately for Malik scoring under pressure is a yardstick for judging a a good player.

And where Malik is concerened those performances are few and far between. As far as Malik playing well against India goes thats six of one half a dozen of the other.

Yousuf has a formidable record to back up the claims that what he did against India was no fluke.

Yes if this was Aus, Eng, Ind, RSA I would not find these comments baffling. But we're talking about a team that is as poor a batting side as ours. We have two good batters. Arguably they have one: Ross Taylor.

Nasim-ul-Ghani got 101 against England back in 1962 at Lords.I know it from another trivia.

Disrespecful if you ask me, what utter rubbish they are talking.

And for that reason I hope Asif, Amir, Gul and Kaneria pummel these Kiwis.

Who the hell do they think they are?
