Pakistan v New Zealand | 3rd Test - Day 2 | Napier | 12/12/09

I missed the last 2 hours, seems like we've done well to recover. Looks like it was all Kaneria. Can someone please provide a summary of the last 2 hours? Any dropped catches etc?

I hope we get another wicket soon Guys,

Two of ICC's worst Umpires on the ground today in one of the most Important Test deciders.

Rudi and Doc Do little to cricket.

1 wkt come on. O brien can bat a bit like southee but otherwise we should ease through the rest.

I think review shouldn't count if umpire was wrong. So, Pak should still have one review left.

That review is counted as succesful review if umpire is wrong we have had 3 of them and one was successful

Tow key points:

-- New ball is due in 9 overs. I don't think Yousaf should take it.

-- 45 overs to bowl today. I don't think all of them will be completed.

This is a massive partnership for Pakistan to break. These two are capable of taking the match away very quickly.

how many review a team gets. If asked for three reviews, and one of them was successful( umpire being wrong), shouldn't we have one left?

I think each team gets 2 reviews and successful reviews are not counted.

Why? Are we getting massive reverse swing? Turn?

Ball is reversing big time , we just need one wicket . Gully will sort out the tail

these two need to go soon. Why isn;t Aamir bowling. He didn't look very impressive yesterday

you answered your own question

I think we should continue with the current bowling partnershp, Umar is really getting the ball to talk

63.5 Danish Kaneria to Flynn, OUT, review time, the googly has Flynn confounded, did he get beaten or did he get an edge to the keeper, Kamran Akmal is absolutely certain, he called for the review immediately after the umpire turned it down, plenty of replays, there's a sound as it passes the bat, but HotSpot shows nothing, the Taufel overturns the on-field umpire's decision, Flynn has to go, am not sure on what evidence though, sure to add to the growing list of decision-review system controversies, Flynn had started to walk off as soon as the review was called for, perhaps knowing he had edged it, then paused to wait for the umpire's verdict
DR Flynn c †Kamran Akmal b Danish Kaneria 5 (51m 26b 0x4 0x6) SR: 19.23
67.3 Danish Kaneria to McCullum, no run, massive appeal for lbw, another review after the umpire turns it down, hits McCullum low on the front foot, no bat involved, was pitching just outside off, third umpire gives it not out, might have been sliding down leg, that was very close
70.2 Umar Gul to McCullum, no run, McCullum is squared up by this one, did he get an edge though? umpire doesn't think so, so it's another review, the bats definitely hit the pad, the HotSpot confirms it, no edge and Pakistan have used both their reviews, they probably went for it because of the sound of bat hitting pad

We asked for three review. We got one successful review (we got Flynn out). Two wasted. Only one left out of three allowed. Is this correct? Can somebody confirm this?

We need one more wicket and newzealand will be lucky if kaneria and gull dont get a wicket here

Thanks. For some reason I thought, three were allowed. Do you think, three reviews were allowed in Ind-SL series -- when the system was introduced.

Chal looks like we'll be watching Abhishek in the evening session. Someone forgot to press the switch button at 4am.

yea back then it was 3...but the review system itslef got reviewed and they reduced it to 2 reviews per innings

i think 2 is better, 3 seemed too many. if a team had two successful review, then they will still have two left. correct?

yes

Just checked the score after a busy day. I have a question.

If wicket is not bad then why NZ scored just 170 runs in entire day. Usually close to 300 is scored in a day.
