Waqar is saying that Sohail is not running in like he usually does ... maybe its a bit of nerves. He bowls a couple of bad balls each over which is undoing all the pressure Gul is building up.
 
Look how low the ball is carrying. Another pathetic pitch.

Warnapura is attacking a lot, which is good for Pakistan, because they can get the wicket and put SL in pressure. Let's hope they bowl the right areas...

This pitch is terribly dead. The ball is keeping so low on day one, a batsmen can go for his shots and the ball will not carry if its an edge.

SL showing Pakistan how to bat in ODI's. Can't believe that this same crap SL team get battered by India. Boy if India got hold of Pakistan they would beat the hell out of them.

It shocking. There is absoluely NOTHING in this wicket. Not even a hint of life. So much talk, we know it is going to be a batting wicekt but this wicket has nothing. I can see Lanka racking up a big score and somehow Pakistan managing to bundle themselves out.

No trust him. This pitch is horrible, reminds me of the one prepared vs India in Lahore (first test in 2006 when Sehwag and Dravid put on 400)
 
Arafat bowls at a decent speed. Ih ope he develops his batting so then he can become an decent test all arounder and give us good balance.

Exactly ... i don't see nothing in it for the bowlers. SL going at 5.7 RPO, and they aren't runs through the slips.

For god sakes, he has found out our plan. If you're gonna bowl short then do it well.

I disagree, they have a real medium pacer in Sohail Khan and the other two are fast medium.

The intelligence of the Pakistani cricketers is something to be shocked about. They must have planned that this Warnapura is suspect against the short delivery but to bowl it every other ball highlights how thick they are.

I think bowling and field placing is more to blame than pitch.
 
Stop blaming the pitch (only)... Sohail Khan just wasnt bowling good enough, erred to much in line/length and was just above 130k...

Bowling is crap but this pitch is dead. I saw Sanga drive and edge one and didnt even carry if there was a fielder there.
 
Thankfully Gul is one of the better bowlers with the new ball going around...he has a big job to do, especially if Sanga hangs around

Yes, there is no known PAK bowler - not even domestic - who is able to bowl consistently over 140k.

Talha/S. Khan can bowl only occasionally at 140k
 
Great. Now there is deep square leg....rigth cause this pitch is gonna be quick and make the batsmen top edge.
 
That was stupid over from Umar Gul, he is good bowler but that over was all short balls. Dumb.

But the bowlers are going to be rusty (or debutant) remember and SL are taking advantage.
 
Gul is erratic. way too short, way too full, way too wide sometimes. After few overs he has lost his rythm.
 
If you plan to bowl short why is there no short leg or a leg gully? Are these men or square boxes playing cricket for Pakistan?

This is a serious problem for Gul, bowling short. He always bowls like this, at least in recent times. Even in the ODI's, he always bowls short with the new ball :batman:

I don't care how many RPO we are giving away, just bowl some wicket balls.
